    Thanks Daisy!
I have done the bulk of the cooking this week due to OH having all these competitions. We both agreed a takeaway night was a very good idea

A good takeaway are hard to find. So when you do you look forward to it don't you 😁
I also think as you have done the bulk of cooking you thoroughly deserve one

Waiting around is such a pain but nothing you can do about it is there.
They forget people have to travel some distance at times,
The Freeman's is a good 40 minutes from us and sometimes traffic was a nightmare.
MIL isn't keen on those hydrating sweets , we bought them the last time she was in and she wouldn't eat them.
She's been up dressed and sitting in the chair today so that's an improvement.

It won't be long before that little man his racing around with his cousins.

I had a full hour Nana nap this afternoon,
It was only the dog snoring that woke me.
I felt a bit heavy headed but better for it.

GS just rang he's on his way home from Leeds , had his last exam of the year today.
He's coming from work in the morning for his breakfast,
A full English with fried bread
He was coming straight here for tea but he's been getting some new golf clubs and wants to try them out tonight.

Gem, how was the takeaway? I hope it was delicious.

Oma, well done on getting a nap this afternoon, but I had to laugh at Storm's snoring waking you up! . It's a pity MIL doesn't like those sweets because I'm sure they'd help. Anything's better than water out of those plastic jugs! Let's hope she's on the mend if she was up and dressed today. I hope GS's exams have gone well. When will he get the results? I like the request for a full english - with fried bread. You wonder where they put it all don't you!

The takeaway was really good thank you Daisy

Speaking of water jugs and hospitals, I felt the lovely cold water in the insulated jugs at the private hospital were almost worth the fee for my knee surgery!!

Good morning. Looking a bit overcast this morning.

Oma, hope GS enjoys his full English breakfast.

Daisy, waiting at the hospital for an hour, feels 4 hours, but what can you do.

We are going into town today, so we will eat out.
Don't need a lot of shopping, but we want to go to home bargains and m&s on the way.

              Good morning everyone.

Nan2, enjoy town and eating out.

              Lucky GS1 Oma!

Today we are going to an 18th birthday barbecue. OH's godson. I think it's in the late afternoon. DD and GS1 are away overnight so I need to drop in to attend to their cat and guinea pig on our way home.
We have no plans. I think OH could do with a restful day after 4 golf days in a row!

                Morning ladies
I agree with the warm horrible water in hospitals,
We all put a bottle of water in the freezer to take to MIL by the time we get there it's defrosted enough to get a cup out and stays frozen for a few hours for her.

                Gem
Enjoy the BBQ it's ages since we had one,

                Nanto
Will you go to your usual place for something to eat?

                Daisy
He thinks he did well but won't hear for a few weeks yet,
It was a oral exam a one to one session he had to talk about a piece of music he composed .
How are you this morning did you sleep well?

I have done downstairs, stripped the bed it's in the wash now and cleared out the cabinets in the bathroom,
The rubbish I got out of there was shocking , half used shampoo bottles half tubs of cream ,
I found 4 pee sample bottles we didn't even know was in there,
Deodorant I forgot we bought so bought more the list goes on.
I now have nice tidy cabinets till the next time.

                  Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, that little frog is welcome in my garden any day! Enjoy your trip out, and no cooking. I hope the weather's nice for you.

Gem, ejoy the 18th party. Lte afternoon is a good time for a barbecue, isn't it. Not too hot but the evening chill hasn't set in. I think S deserves a lazy day. I wonder how many miles she covered in the 4 days of golf this week? I hope DD and GS1 have a nice time. It must do her good to get away occasionally.

Oma, taking frozen water bottles in is a good idea. I hope it encourages your MIL to drink more. How is she today? I'm sure J will have done well and get good results. I would imagine he'd present himself very well and be articulate about his composition. It doesn't seem long since you last cleared out your bathroom cabinets. I remember thinking I must do ours - and I still haven't done the one in our ensuite! Yes, thank you for asking - I slept very well, but keep waking up about 6 - far too early for me!

I've got a few jobs to get done today - the worst being some ironing that's been hanging around for ages. DIL1, GSs and GS2's girlfriend are coming tomorrow, so we need to have a bit of a tidy up. OH has said he'll do the heavy stuff!

I hope everyone is enjoying good weather -it's sunny here with a slight breeze, very pleasant.

Nanto, I haven’t seen a frog in the garden for years, we used to have a large pond and saw plenty, especially at mating time. I think all the frogs in the neighbourhood were in there. Enjoy your day out, have a nice lunch.

Oma, good idea to keep your Mil hydrated. I am hope your GS does well in his exams. Who does he take after for his interest and how will he use his degree? I could do with clearing out my medicine cabinets.

Daisy, I don’t do any ironing now, wouldn’t be able to put the ironing board up. Of course I don’t have shirts now and I don’t wear blouses.

Gemini, I hope DD1 and her son have a nice holiday together. Have a nice time at the BBQ

Lots of activity next door, DD and Sil took delivery of some new SR furniture yesterday and GD2 and her partner are having their old one until they can afford to buy a new one. A van was hired and it was removed it this morning.

Our weather is very mixed, we are getting quite a lot of cloud and the breeze is chilly at times.

                      Plant,
GS takes after my DD for brains ,
He wants to go into production either in the music industry or films.

Ironing boards are very heavy these days aren't they,
I have quite a lot of tops that do not need ironing and to be honest i could get away with not ironing my trousers ,

                      Daisy
I'm sure they are coming to see J and you not how tidy the house is 😁

I did clear them out a few weeks ago but one that had all the half empty shampoo bottles in I didn't touch I thought I would use them all , but to be honest I never was going too.
Plus all the stuff tucked behind them I forgot about.

GS had a full breakfast and stayed till 11.30 he was full and happy when he left.😁

Plant, I want to make a small pond in the garden for frogs and wild life in general. The water container is already there and there's a little fountain, but we kept it covered while the grandchildren were little, and have never got round to opening it up. We'll have to put fresh rainwater in but that isn't an option until the water butts fill up again. We've had a couple of coudy spells today, but mostly sunshine, and a very light breeze. New furniture is always exciting. Are DD and SIL pleased with their new stuff?

Oma, my ironing board is fairly light - it's also very old. But I don't iron things that don't really need it these days - except tea cloths for the kitchen. I know, stupid, but I like them pristine and neatly folded! I can understand about the half empty shampoo bottles. I have to make a decision about when is that tube/bottle whatever really empty. Silly, isn't it! I'm quite sure nobody will notice whether the house is tidy or not, but OH tends to leave things lying around for ages if we don't have a clean sweep every so often. I bet J loved his breakfast. It's an interesting time to be going into music or film production with AI snapping at everyone's heels. I hope the Government do clamp down and protect copyright or our creative industries will be struggling.

Gem, wouldn't it make a huge difference is the NHS hospitals could stretch to insulated jugs as well. It's so important to keep hydrated. It could be the sort of thing voluntary hospital groups might help with - a simple "fix" that could have real benefits.

Today I've been feeling quite energetic. I've done a bit of gardening, ironing, portioning up dog food and a load of washing. but I did have a half hour sit down after lunch. OH cooked lamb steaks with buttered new potatoes and lots of veg. I actually had a big dollop of mint sauce as well - most things don't taste good at the moment, but the mint sauce did!

                          Daisy, your dinner sounded nice.

It was cool when we first got into town, warmed up a bit when the sun came out.

Oma, we went to a different cafe today, meal was lovely.

Gem, hope you enjoyed the BBQ.

I thought it was going to be a quiet afternoon after we got home.
Nephew was allowed home for the weekend, so he came to visit with his wife.
Bro in law from the bungalow came.

Nephew has to have some more scans next week, no diagnosis as to what the problem is yet.
They have told him he will be in for another 2 weeks.

Gosh Nan2, that's quite a time for your nephew to be in hospital. I hope they get him sorted and home as soon as possible.

Ooh lovely sounding dinner Daisy. I'm glad you were feeling more energetic today and enjoyed your meal.
I agree about the insulated jugs. I appreciated that about my hospital stay in first place after my private room and bathroom! They want you to keep drinking water, and when it's lovely and chilled it's no effort.

What a busy time near you had today Plant.

We had a lovely time at the BBQ and caught up with some old friends.
                            Such lovely weather too.
We quickly fed GS1's pets on the way home, then back to feed our own.
I went upstairs to close GS's big window in his bedroom which was open

                              No plans otherwise.

Braising steak and onions with mash and veg. Going to cook all the meat, less cooking to do next time we have some.

                              Gem,glad you enjoyed the BBQ.

                                Good morning everyone.

It's dull here too Nan2. It took a few hours to brighten up yesterday then it was lovely on into the evening.

Today we want to to to the garden centre for bedding plants for the tubs and hanging baskets. No other plans as far as I know.
