We had a lovely family meal. Where we went, do a lovely carvery and thats what we all had.
We've been there a few times and it never fails to please.
Had quite a bit of rain today.

Just put a load of towels in to wash. Hopefully I'll be able to get them out to dry.
Hubby has asked for chips, beans and egg for dinner.

No aqua for me this morning as there is a meeting. I feel I would be fine for the class, but it's probably not a bad thing to give it a miss until Wednesday anyway!
Golf away day for OH. She assures me she is fine for this. She seems to (hopefully) have a lesser version of what I have had.
No plans apart from my morning meeting, but plenty to be getting on with!

Good morning, dry with a lot of wind, aqua later on, I have been to get a new battery in my car, it "died" on me! A man that was a customer where I worked years ago started out on his own with batteries etc, he happened to be there this morning, he is 74 now and still enjoys his work. The men were really friendly and helpful so I can drive again, a neighbour gave the battery a jump start so that I could get there.
I only spoke to the neighbour yesterday as I went on my bike, in the rain, to DS1 for coffee, I was talking to him when I got back and told him my car wouldn't start to he said he would help. I had to go for him this morning for him to help again
.
The sun it out now, I have a BBQ this evening from the place I do coffee at, they have it locally so not far for me.Comment

Good Monday morning, everyone.
Nanto, that carvery sounds good. I bet it's really popular as most people seem to enjoy a roast dinner. I hope your towels dry ok. We've just put bedding in to wash, but it's quite showery here. There's always the tumble dryer, thank goodness!
Gem, I know you miss your aqua when you don't go, but as you say, it might be for the best today. The atmosphere at the pool could make your throat sore again. Thank goodness your OH is also feeling better, and the fresh air on the golf course will blow any cobwebs away, I'm sure.
Lizzie, your community is always very supportive and helpful and it was kind of your neighbour to jump start your car. Batteries seem to go all at once, don't they. I hope the day stays dry for the barbecue tonight. It sounds as though it's a bit cooler than last week, and I'm sure you're very glad if that's the case.
Oma, enjoy your quiet day! It's awful to think of leaves coming off the trees in early July, but I noticed the horse chestnut tree outside our house is already turning brown, and last night's wind and rain have flattened some of the flowers in the garden. The years do take their toll, but I think we all think we're still 25 in our heads. It's just the bodies don't realise that!
I'm having a quiet day as I'm feeling tired and don't feel like doing anything. It's frustrating because there are jobs in the garden I want to do, and things in the house that need doing (two very different things!) but they'll have to wait. OH is going to take both our cars to the car wash today. They are a disgrace with all the dust, pollen and mud. I really prefer to hand wash my car, but don't fancy doing it at the moment, so I'm grateful for OH taking it. He's going to try a different place today. The one he usually goes to is quite a long way away and often has long queues, but there's one we pass on the way to the hospital that looks well-run and busy but no long queues, so he'll try that today. The caravan also needs cleaning, but he'll have to do that on the drive another day. It gets a lot of debris from the tree at the front.

We have had a productive day. Hubby has/is pottering in the garden.
I've made sure everything is tidy. Made some chips for the freezer, about enough for 3 meals.

Nanto, I have been taking things easy today, mostly reading, but did spend a bit of time tying the tomato plants in as it's still very windy.

I have been quite productive too. I sent a follow up email out after this mornings meeting, then got 2 wash loads out and cleaned both bathrooms.
I also designed a poster for my stall at Haxby Carnival on Saturday, and put in a Tesco order. Don't worry anyone, I also had time to watch a couple of episodes of Greys Anatomy and Would I Lie to You
Having said I was over the cough I had massive and embarrassing coughing fit as the meeting began this morning!!
