I did read with the hot weather fleas are on the rise,
Plus you never know what stray animals comes into your garden do you,
I'm sure the vet can recommend something stronger till they are under control ,
    They are a nuisance though.

The school H is gong to in Sept. Is a brick and flint building, the original village school now enlarged, opposite the pond. Very popular but she is in the catchment area, just a short walk. Her mother went there. Her speech is still not good, hoping the school will pick up on it. H has had her hearing checked.

        Oma, I blame the hedgehogs!!

That is a good tip Lizzie. Cats are so fussy and smell led that I doubt it would work for them unfortunately

H's speech may just improve quickly Plant.

Daisy I hope this mornings appointment went OK.

We have had a lovely day with GS1. We took him to the nature reserve we are now keyholders of. He enjoyed it very much and thinks both his parents would enjoy it and is going to encourage them to become keyholders

This morning I sat with him while he did his science assignment and his knowledge was impressive. He is doing some WW1 history work now.

          Good Friday afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, I hope you and OH are having an enjoyable day. I think birthdays should be celebrated for several days, and I'm sure GD1 and family will be pleased they are extending your Hubby's special day.

Oma, is Storm finding the shade in the garden, or have you got the promised thunderstorm?

Gem, I hope the part for OH's car isn't a big, expensive one. At least having it in stock means you won't have to wait over the week-end.

Your GS1 must have found lots of interesting things at the Nature reserve, and I'm sure he felt very special with you having a key to it. Well done to him on his science assignment. One of the benefits of home schooling is being able to build on a child's strengths (as well as supporting their less good areas). I'm sure History is a lot more interesting than when I was at school - I never could remember all the Kings and Queens and their dates!

Poor cats, they must be very itchy. I hope the vet can give you something that will work. Fleas can be hard to get rid of, I know. I also worry about Eva getting tapeworms from fleas, but (tempting fate here!) she's never had them. We don't treat her for parasites, but obviously keep a close eye on her especially in this hot weather and living where we live.

Plant, it's lovely that H is able to go to her local school. So often children living even within walking distance are turned down and have to travel far and wide. Is she looking forward to "big school"?

We got to the hospital early this morning so went into M&S and had a coffee. We went to the ward early as we thought we had sat in M&S with one coffee for a long time, and I was able to be treated early. There was a 15 minute infusion (bone strengthening) and the usual injection. Then we had to go to the pharmacy to get meds, which weren't ready. We only had to wait 10 or 15 minutes though, so were out earlier than we'd expected. We went and collected Eva, thinking it might be even hotter this afternoon, came home and had a sandwich for lunch. Neither of us feel like doing much now. It's 24C but seems hotter. I think we might miss the thunderstorms forecast for the east and south-east later, but we could certainly do with the rain.

GD1 and family on their way.

The thunderstorms we were forecast, never materialised.
Sun came out so i washed a load of darks.
            Turned out very warm again.

              No thunderstorms here either Nan2.

Good idea to do nothing much in this heat , Daisy, especially after time at the hospital.

Cats are sorted with different treatment, car is fixed. We are several hundred pounds poorer now!!

No thunder here either , it's very warm.

Good you got in and out quickly , just take it easy tonight.

Storm just slept behind the shed all day where it was in the shade and cool ,
Only came in for his lunch and biscuits 😁

                  Gem
                  Expensive day for you both.
But at least you didn't have to wait days for the car,
Yes I imagine the fleas will have came from the hedgehogs, at least they are sorted ,
Do you have to bath them?

                  Nanto
I thought of doing a wash too as it was quite sunny, but I got side tracked and forgot 😁

                  Plant
Ideal the school is just a short walk away, I hope she enjoys it , I'm sure she will , she settled well in nursery didn't she.
GS1 had a dreadful lisp when he was that age and some words only we could understand but once in school it improved immensely,
Fingers crossed H is the same.

We had a fair amount of heavy rain this evening - and a small amount of thunder!

Oma no it's just a different flea potion to apply to the skin again. This one lasts 3 months.
He said the one we were using, which used to be the vet recommended one often doesn't work now so they don't recommend that any more.
We bought some flea bombs to treat house. Tomorrow night we will treat the cats then do the house on Sunday .

                      Good morning.

We are going to Wakefield today. Not for anything special, but will see if anything catches our eye.
Rain is forecast but there's plenty of shops and cafes to shelter in.

                        Morning, Nanto Ladies.

It's raining but not heavy , it's so muggy though.

                        Gem
It's a pain having to use the flea bombs but it's a must isn't it.
At least you don't have the trauma of trying to bathe them 😁

                        Nanto
                        Enjoy your trip to Wakefield.

B sanding the wooden worktops today , well starting with the breakfast bar see have far he gets on.

I have just sorted a few things from my wardrobe , old dresses etc , I keep putting them back when I have a clear out I don't know why as I will never wear them again.

Did a dark wash mainly underwear so they went into the tumble dryer,
I haven't got much to do today, I'm tired so maybe just as well,
My back hurts , when I finally got some sleep last night I awoken all twisted so I'm aching now .

                          Good morning everyone .

Nan2, friends of ours have two little dogs like that one. They are very cute.

Oh dear Oma, I hope your back ache eases.

No plans today, except maybe some shopping.
Bad weather is forecast so I think it will be mainly an indoor day.

I have cleaned my bedrooms and bathroom from ceilings to floors,
My back doesn't hurt as much when I'm moving except when I stretched with the flash duster to do around the edge of the ceilings,
As soon as I sat down it ached again, so I'm getting up every 10 minutes I don't want it stiffening up.

It's raining fairly hard at the moment but still no thunder.

                            Gem
It will do you good to have a rest day in , your always here and there aren't you 😁♥️

                              Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Natno, you often see something in the shops when you least expect it, so hopefully something extra nice will catch your eye today.

Gem, glad OH's car is sorted, and so are the cats by the sound of it. I think animals can become immune to treatments, a bit like us with antibiotics. I've never heard of flea bombs, but they sound rather alarming. Fingers crossed the treatment and the bombs work.

Oma, ouch, back ache is horrible and seems to affect every movement. Take it easy. B is a saint sanding the wooden worktops. Ours in the utility area is a disgrace, though, but J is kept busy being chief nurse, cook, bottle washer and even dog walking some days, so I'm not going to mention it to him.

We've had rain overnight, and it is cooler today, but ok. Eva woke me up about 3 am wanting to go out in the garden. It's only the second time in 10 years she's done that, but I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards so I made myself a cuppa and sat and read for an hour or so. OH just carried on fast asleep. But it meant we got up later than usual, and we planned to do several jobs today. I'd better get started.

Gem, I hope all the treatments for the uninvited visitors work. As Oma says, take it easy.

Pleased I haven’t got wooden worktops. I prefer the look of them but not the work. I forgot to mention that the school H is going to is the one WG attends to listen to readers.

I have back ache, too much sitting, watching Rugby and Athletics. The wet weather has kept me inside, looking a bit brighter now.

Daisy, the jobs will wait, Eva’s needs are more important. I wonder what caused her need to go out?
