Good morning.
Well, the heavens opened last night. We needed the rain and by heck we got it.
Storms forecast for this afternoon,I'm surprised we haven't had one before now.
Daisy, how did the jam and chutney making go.
I want to change the bedding and clean upstairs today.
Dinner is chips, fish fingers and peas or beans.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Morning Nanto, Ladies.
We had rain also Nanto,
It's overcast this morning.
Housework done not that there was much ,
I cleaned the fridge out gave it a good wash sorted that and B is sorting the freezer.
Not much to do today,
I'm tired , foot cramps all night kept having to get up and walk around the bedroom,
I drank a pint of water before bed but it still happened.
MIl had to go into hospital yesterday but she's home now,
She couldn't stand the pain in her back so SIL rang 111 they sent a paramedic team who suggested she went for x-rays.
SIl said she was embarrassed the way MIL went on screaming and shouting at the paramedics,
She wasn't going in just give her an injection , when they said they couldn't do that apparently she went ballistic.shouting and swearing ,
Anyway she finally went in x-rays showed nothing they said it was sciatic pain and sent her home with codein.
SIl said she apologised to the paramedics about MILs behavior, but they said they have had worse she said they were really nice about it.
If I had been there she wouldn't have done that I would have stopped her in her tracks but his sister won't say anything.
Trouble is MIL has a very low pain threshold so makes a drama out of any twinge.
I'm not saying her back wasn't hurting but she could have handled it better.Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning everyone.
Nan2 what a lovely Monday graphic
Oma that sounds a lovely lunch yesterday.
The paramedics will be used to that sort of thing, and will make allowances for someone of your MIL's age . Very embarrassing for your SIL though.
Hopefully the codeine will help.
Aqua this morning, and staying for coffee with my friends.
I will type the Minutes of the meeting this afternoon. I should have done it before this,I hope my notes make sense!
Cooler this morning, with a mist which is clearing now.

Good Monday morning, everyone.
Nanto, I like the idea of a stress-free day, any day of the week, but especially on a Monday. You certainly had plenty of rain. Hopefully if you get a storm this afternoon it will clear the air.
Oma, I wonder what caused the foot cramps. It sounds very painful so no wonder you didn't get much sleep. Thank goodness it was nothing serious for your MIL's back, even though she did raise the roof. I'm quite sure paramedics are used to dealing with protesting patients. Hopefully the codeine has eased the pain.
Gem, it seems a while since you've had coffee with your friends after aqua - or is it just me forgetting? I hope your notes of the meeting are easy to read - I remember that feeling of leaving them too long and not being able to read them, or fill in any blanks.
We made jam yesterday, but ended up putting off making chutney as it's a much longer process. But I made a mushroom risotto for dinner. It's ages since I last did one and couldn't find the recipe I usually use. So I picked an easy one online, but it wasn't quite as nice as usual, although OH said it was fine. Definitely need to get the chutney done today.

Is it hot down your end ? A hot kitchen making chutney maybe isn't the best thing for you.
I had the same with a recipe I had when B was going through chemo ,
It was for a chicken marinated in pineapple,
I can't find it , I did try to remember the way I made it but it didn't turn out so good.
It was a strong flavour when his taste buds were not great.
Maybe you have put it in a draw somewhere or a folder?
No idea about the cramps , I can go weeks without any then they come back.
My fingers cramped up yesterday when I was trying to eat lunch B ended up cutting my Yorkshire pud for me 😁
We went to B&M this morning as I wanted a small bag of compost , I have 3 box shrubs under my front window,
One has become very waterlogged, and not looking good.
B took it around the back and discovered when he took it out of the pot the stones I put in as drainage had actually blocked the holes.
So he's left it on some tarpaulin to dry out in the sun a little and then he will repot it in new dry compost.
Next door had a couple of bricks left over from her BBQ so she gave him one to break to put in the pot.
I'm hoping the bush will recover if not I will buy a new one.
Did my ironing as I didn't get it done yesterday,
SIL been to MILs this morning said she's walking about fine so she's ok.Im not fat just 6ft too small

This morning was lovely,it was very warm when the sun came out.
Got the washing dry, including the bedding.
It started raining about 1ish and there is the odd rumble of thunder.
I've just added some things to this weeks Asda order, but i've also knocked some things off.
I want some frozen fruit for pies and crumbles. We have plenty of rhubabrb in the freezer, but i like something for a change.
I'm going into town with hubby tomorrow,so i thought i might as well get the frozen fruit in Iceland.
I'll get my over 60's discount then.Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma, MIL sounds to be OK now!
I think the smoky smell has almost gone, we opened everything up again as soon as we got up. I can smell it slightly in the dining room which doesn't have a window to the outside. The patio doors to the conservatory are fully open as are the windows and door of the conservatory, so hopefully it will go.
That was lucky getting the washing dry before the rain Nan2.
Mushroom risotto sounds nice Daisy.
I have been having after aqua coffee most times Daisy, I maybe just haven't been mentioning it! There are not always all four of us as there are today though
I got some white washing on the line this afternoon, so am keeping my eye on the weather!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

So sorry I am late to post but the day has just fled away. Sil and I spent time with discussing my investments, I am finding things like that difficult to understand especially when things change. Sil was a Financial Advisor. The company and the advisor I am with will stay the same, he will just keep an eye on things. I then went on to prune a climbing rose, went to see Harriet, came back had lunch and then fell asleep.
Daisy, I used to make a mushroom risotto, very delicious. I am not sure what to do with all the plums, I don’t make pies etc now. I am sure friends would like some. Must do something, the wasps have found them already.
Gemini, I hope the bomb has done the trick with the fleas, I am itching now.
Nanto We have had quite a nice day, mainly the morning, cloudy later. I wish you were nearer so that I could pass some plums to you.
Oma, I hope that box plant survives. So sorry to hear you have been suffering from bad cramp, have you mentioned it to the medics? What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Always good to have someone who understands these things,
I wouldn't know where to start myself.
My Diabetes has a lot to do with the cramps the same with my dry mouth, just one of those things I'm afraid.
I drink lots of water every day , I dread to think what it would be like if I didn't.

We're the cats ok having their treatment? Was it just the back of the neck drops?

Oma, yes they are such good cats, no fuss at all about the back of the neck drops. One of our previous cats acted as though we were amputating her legs every time!! It took both of us and involved gloves and wrapping her in a towel, and we still got scratched“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oma, glad MIL is ok now.
We had torrential rain this afternoon, just like we had last night.
Another heavy shower has just finished.
Plant, it's handy having an ex financial advisor in the family.
We have a financial adviser and he is very good.
In fact he came two weeks ago to give us an update.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
