Good morning. Looking quite bright here.

Plans for today, is a bit of tidying up in the garden.

I've been awake since 1.30. Didn't take a sleeping tablet last night, you can only take them for 2 weeks. I bought them from the chemist. After taking them for a week, i reduced them to half a tablet and they still worked.

No cooking today, we are having a KFC.

You need to do what is good for you even if it's only a quarter or half a tablet, if it helps you sleep.
Lack of sleep is draining , they say you get used to it you don't you just manage don't you.

Gem, are you getting some nice treats in M&S Foodhall? Have you had some rain for your new plants? Everything always looks greener and perkier after a shower.

Oma, I'm sure GS will be with you for lunch if possible! He loves seeing you both, and of course enjoying a meal with you. Perhaps you should get some soft protective cover for the remote, just in case you start throwing it at the table again.

We had planned to put the new plants in this morning, but it's been raining. Not enough to be useful, just drizzle. We'll wait and see how it is this afternoon. Otherwise, I think I'll have to make the effort to tidy out the airing cupboard. You open the doors and things fall out.

We have booked to go away next week, a lodge on Esthwaite in the lakes,
A last minute deal in a 5* unit , away from Monday to Saturday , come home and go straight to Finley's birthday party on the way . So Won't get home till late I think.

Oma, it's about time you had a holiday. That sounds lovely, and very peaceful, at least until it's party time.

It's been one of those days today when everything seems to go wrong or be a nuisance. It's probably just me feeling a bit tired, but I haven't achieved anything useful.

I just got mushrooms and strawberries in M&S as I want mushrooms for tonight's tea. I park there to go to the pool so it's easy to pop in. I didn't get tempted by anything else this time. The strawberries are delicious!!

Nice and sunny but not as warm today.
I must go and convert the mushrooms I bought and a large chicken breast I defrosted into something edible now

We had a productive day today.
Hubby pulled the rhubarb this morning and cut the hedge. I did a bit of tidying in the garden and swept up.
I used some of the rhubarb to make a cake,it was a recipe i saw on you tube a couple of days ago.

Sis in law and hubby called. They had been to a warehouse kind of place and brought us 5 boxes of Yorkshire teabags for £10.
They are well in date until next year. We are well and truly stocked up now,as we already had plenty in.

I love rhubarb,
We used to have a huge one in our last garden,
When it was ready I would batch cook it then freeze to use as and when we needed it,
Nothing like home grown rhubarb is there.

I bought M&S strawberries today as well ,
I'm going to make a Eton mess with them to take into MIL tomorrow.
They smell lovely.

GS came had something to eat and stayed a few hours then went to pick Lucie up from work,
We sent her birthday card and gifts with him , it's her. Birthday next week but we will be away.
She just text saying thank you Nana & Grandad 😁
She's working all this week so we won't see her.

It's been raining off and on here all day. OH was just about to take Eva out when it started again, so decided to wait for it to stop. I did point out that Eva doesn't mind the rain ... I got a "Look" (think Paddington Bear's hard stare).

We had strawberries from Tesco last week and they were very fresh and juicy. Lovely.

Oma, I'm sure MIL will love her Eaton Mess. I hope Lucie has a lovely birthday next week.

Nanto, home grown rhubarb is the best. The cake sounds delicious. There's no danger of you running out of teabags in the near future, no matter how many visitors you have.

Daisy, I made chicken cacciatore with rice and broccoli and green beans, and if I say so myself it was really nice
I keep meaning to ask you. Is there really a hotel called The Pig near to you? I have been listening to the latest Richard Osman book in my car as I drive around. At lot of it is set where you live!

We love rhubarb too and have a very healthy plant in our garden.

Good morning. Just seen the weather forecast, and it said cool today for everywhere.

A bit of a busy morning for me cooking. Going to make a couple of meat and potato pies, rhubarb crumble and a rhubarb pie.

Going for a pub meal today with sis in law and her hubby.

I woke up at 12.30 after two hours sleep and thought here we go again. Hubby was awake so we were chatting for a bit. I managed to get back to sleep until 4.30.

Right, I'd better get cracking.

Nanto, you still end up cooking despite going for a pub meal 😁
Im sure you will be glad of the stuff in the freezer though.
We sometimes do that lie and chat for a while or come down and have a cuppa,

That sounds lovely , I don't think I've had that before , is it a tomato based sauce? I like those kins of sauces.
We had pasta bake the other night , not being a fan of pasta to start with and the sauce was far to creamy for me ,
I couldn't eat it I kept gagging ,
I ended up with beans on toast 😁

Popping to Aldi this morning then B&M ,
B busy putting bees wax on the table and he has his electric buffing machine out save on elbow grease,
I must say it smells nice ,
Some beeswax isn't nice at all but this one has a hint of eucalyptus in it.
