Have a day off Daisy Find something nice to do.

Midsummer Nights Dream is my favourite Shakespeare play and I have seen it many times. The first time when I was about 16 was a most magical production and entranced me. I have seen various versions but my preference is for a traditional one. This one is set on a council estate I gather, so not so traditional!

Late fasting appointments are awful, even if your not a breakfast person because you can't have any you automatically feel hungry 😁

Enjoy your afternoon, I have never seen it but would like too.

      Daisy
Have a lovely lazy day, it's too cold to be in the garden.

Joiner sorted the doors out in minutes,
Had to put new hinges on one but said the other door was fine just a little fine tuning although he did have trouble finding the adjusting screw like we did.

I put a line of washing out not expecting it to dry as it's overcast and cold ,
But we had a fair breeze and it's dried them all except the waist band of Bs PJ's and my trousers waistband .
I have hung them in the boiler cupboard to finish off .

I bought some PJ bottoms from Sainsbury's yesterday but as usual they had to be taken up ,
So I got my sewing machine out , put my glasses on and spent 10 minutes , well probably 3-4 minutes but it felt like 10 trying to thread the needle 😁

They needed 4 inches off , I got them done and I have just washed them so another job done .

It's a pain needing to take everything up isn't it Oma? I feel your pain! Thank goodness for Bonmarche and all their trouser lengths

I always get trousers from Bonmarche as well, so i don't have to shorten them.

Hubby couldn't do the painting, there was a bit of a breeze.
He said if he tried spraying and it blew back on him, i would have a hubby who was a summer damson colour.

Daisy, hope you have had today off.

I have just got home, cycling through Delft!!! One needs a special license and eyes in the back of the head!! I was thinking of coming home along another route, then, decided if I didn't go through town I probably wouldn't the next time.

The hospital went OK, now the results on the 20th.

It is very windy here so I am pleased I went on the E bike.

I went for GD1 this morning as her bike was still here, she needed it to go to the dentist so I said I would go for her, not that I spoil them.

I hope to go to the market in Delft tomorrow for the material, that isn't at the other side of town though.

Gem, I hope that you enjoyed the afternoon out, you certainly get out and about!

Just got in from the games afternoon, they had a lovely tea for us and a game of bingo, I won a prize.

Lizzie, Of course you spoil them as I do my GCand GGC. I am sure they appreciate it.

Oma, I haven’t bought anything from Bon Marche for years, I know we don’t have a shop near but I should look on-line. I hope Mil is behaving herself and getting stronger.

Lizzie, good luck for the results on the 20th.

Plant, well done for the prize. What did you win.

Lizzie, well done on making it through today. I bet you couldn't wait for your coffee and snack afterwards. Everything crossed for you for results on the 20th. It's shocking when you catch a glimpse of yourself in a mirror - I always wonder how that old lady got into our house!

Nanto, I had to laugh at the thought of you having a damson coloured OH. It sounds a nice colour though. Let's hope it's calm enough to do the bench tomorrow.

Oma, well done on threading that needle - it's not easy on a sewing machine! My current machine has got a self-threader thingy which I always forget how to use and have to ask GD1 for help!

Gem, I think I would find it quite hard to watch A Midsummer Night's Dream if it wasn't in what I think of as the traditional setting - but interesting. Did you enjoy it?

Plant, well done on winning a prize. The organisers went to a lot of trouble to make it a special afternoon. I hope it was well-attended.

I don't understand why women's trousers and skirts don't come in various lengths like men's trousers do. After all, women vary in height just like the men. I'm lucky most standard length trousers are ok in the leg, but often the body is too long and I have to turn the waistband over to stop them sagging - not a good look! Mid-rise jeans fit much better. I think Bon Marche must do very well selling different lengths.

I had a very lazy morning, then after lunch I cleaned the cloakroom and bathroom, the kitchen hob and the kitchen sink, which needed a really good scrub. That was it - another rest was needed.

Good morning. Looking a bit overcast this morning.

Daisy, not sure if hubby will get the bench sprayed today.
Friends are coming later this morning.
Other than Friends visiting, no other plans for us.
DS1 is calling in as well.

Dinner is baby potatoes, gammon and pineapple and veg.

                        Morning Nanto/ladies

                        Nanto
Snap we are having gammon and new potatoes too 😁
It's still a bit breezy out to do any paint spraying I think unless you have a shaded spot hubby can do it in.

B has Drs at 9 then we will go to Aldi and then visiting MIL this afternoon.

We have just been out and put all our flags out for VE day , we are very patriotic in this family 😁

No Pope yesterday maybe today so they say.

                        Daisy
You did a lot yesterday ,
                        Don't kitchen sinks get grubby,
You would think having washing up liquid in them all the time they would stay clean.

                          Good morning all.

Overcast here too Nan2. Not a day for sitting in the garden like last Thursday.

Oma, you having the flags out sounds lovely. My mum would have done the same

Daisy, definitely time for another rest after all that activity!

Well done winning a prize Plant. I also wonder what it was!

Although an unusual production we all all enjoyed the play yesterday . And being chauffeured both ways was a treat.
Little E day today. No plans apart from me hearing he wanted to paint so getting the paint things ready!
No golf for OH but she has a morning phone appointment so we probably wont get to take E out, as he naps in the afternoon.

                            Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Nanto, the bench will wait, but I can understand your hubby wanting to get it done - mine's the same once he decides to do something.

Oma, it's lovely that you've put your flags our for VE Day. I hope it's nothing serious for B going to the doctors. Has MIL ordered another cream cake for this afternoon? Our neighbours opposite have a wood burning stove, and inevitably the first time they use it in the Autumn white smoke comes out of the flue. We always joke they've elected a new Pope!

Gem, isn't it great when you don't have to worry about driving, parking or catching a bus. I'm glad you enjoyed the production even though it was different. I bet E loves having a painting session with you.

It's bright and sunny here, but not very warm yet. OH is just watering the front garden - everywhere is so dry. No particular plans for us today, but plenty of jobs on the To Do list if we feel like it. We'll take Eva over to DS2's after her dinner tonight, ready for an early start for the hospital tomorrow.

He went to see about all these colds,
He has put him on a strong dose of antibiotics and sending him for a chest x-ray ,
With his immune system not being good he said he's susceptible to lots of bugs ,
His chest sounded fine so the x-ray is just precautionary just incase there are any little pockets of infection lingering.

We have just said the same our large pots with shrubs in under the front window are bone dry,
B watered them last night and the first lot of water just drained straight through.
MIL hasn't asked for another cake but I have some cheesecake to take in.

It's quite cold so a day in might be the best,
Our boys loved painting mostly their hands but we got some lovely hand paintings😁

Been to Aldi then I popped into B&Q across the road to get weed killer.

IMG_3378.jpg Morning ladies! Up bright and early for the plumber to fit my new shower! No more cold ones thank goodness!
Plant, there’s a Bonarche opened in the Eden Centre almost next door to Boots. They had a lot of nice clothes in there.
Since the village association hasn’t organised anything to celebrate VE Day, I’ve hung my Union Jack out the window.
I’m going to take some stuff to the tip this afternoon! I know how to enjoy myself!!
Whatever you’re up to ladies have a great day! Hope all poorly people are feeling better! Take care x
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
