This is so funny DD came downstairs at 6am the other morning to find Storm watching Wallace & Grommit ,
He had managed to switch the TV remote on , she has no idea how long he had been watching but didn't even turn to look at her when she went into the room , just carried on watching

Oohh be careful what you say Zizi my DD started life at a job centre it isn’t the easiest job in the world, dealing with folk that have their dealers waiting outside to take their money off them and others that have spat at her , cursed her and she was too frightened to go out at lunch time in fear of someone having a go at her , she was 19 yrs old then she has had phones thrown at her chairs kicked over, there are decent folk going in there but there is some 💩 to deal with too , I’m not a bit surprised the staff are not always at their best , luckily over 21 yrs she has risen to the top of her game and on a superb salary , no longer with W and P she’s a highly intelligent girl ,

Oma - You must be properly fed up - no results, and poor B's immune system down. I hope the BT tomorrow puts him back on the right path. At least the Dental Hospital came up trumps. Thank you for thinking about the GRU cards when you've got so much going on. I'm disappointed for you that your DS and GCs didn't turn up. I bet her Ladyship insisted they went shopping - but he could have at least texted you. Doesn't he realise what great parents he's got - he should treat you with more consideration. What would happen if you 'forgot' his birthday on Wednesday?

I know Storm's an intelligent dog - but switching the tv on - and then sitting watching it is priceless!!!

Mimi - I hope the netting doesn't provide the cats with a better hold to climb over the hedge!

Qwerty - I do know exactly how you feel! And I'm only on Day one (but it was 5 days last week!) and I am shattered. No! you can't leave the country!!

Gem - glad all was fine with your sister. What a pity your mum didn't feel up to coming with you.

Plant - a busy day for you. Good to hear that the postcards are being taken. Thank you for replacing them.

Zizi - when my son was having to go to the JC each week, he found the staff really nice and polite, even though they couldn't actually help him find a job. He took cakes in when he signed off!! Best of good luck with the interview tomorrow. It sounds as though online applications are a bit of a pain. I do hope you're feeling better. Could the skin flare ups and itchiness be stress-related. It might be worth popping into a chemists - they might suggest an anti-histomine or similar, but I think you need to check if you're on any other meds. Not long now to Wednesday. I hope J isn't too nervous.

Avo - you're going to have a busy week! but I'm sure you will also have fun with the GCs.

Both GDss have been very good today, and GD1 has done several jobs - washing all the dog towels was hilarious. She put them in the machine and switched it on and then both of them sat in front of it watching it go backwards and forwards and singing in time with it!!! I videoed a bit of it, but our connection is too bad tonight for me to put in on the computer. Cooper and Eva were still tired from yesterday and although they played, they soon settled down for a quiet snooze. Both girls enjoyed going to feed our neighbours' cats, and GD2 has learned a whole lot about how cats don't necessarily run up to you to say 'hello'!

I'm off for an early night. I hope everyone sleeps well.

Q as I said, I do not want to disrespect anyone and I apologise if it was taken that way AND of course I would never behave like that toward anyone. However knowing that it is a a tick box excercise just makes it seem a waste of both my time and the JC staff time. I don’t want to claim JSA but if I don’t (even though I am not going to get anything) I will lose something like £850 from my redundancy pay. Plus I too have dealt with difficult people in my job, well former job, when working with ex homeless/vulnerable/ex prisoners and the like so I do know very well what you are talking about. I have worked with murderers, sex offenders (although I have always tried to get out of those and mostly succeeded), people with mental difficulties etc. So I am not blasé about what the JC staff have to put up with.

Daisy I have taken an antihistamine and also put some Avene recovery cream on and after half an hour it is feeling less itchy and hot. I am not on any meds at all but if this flares up again I will see a pharmacist. Maybe it is stress related or maybe it is too much of that H stuff that is doing it. I cannot remember the last time I spent more than a day not working, thinking about work or checking work emails even on holiday. Obviously as it turns out complete waste of effort,

Oma, no results again. Love the photo of Storm watching tv. He's one clever doggy, switching the tv on.

Just got meat and onion in the slow cooker, for some pies for the freezer.

Its raining again . Still mustn’t complain, far better than snow I suppose.

Zizi , you are right , your rash could well be down to stress, you’ve had a huge change in your lifestyle. Zizi if you claim JSA your national Insurance stamp is paid so that you have made enough contributions to your state pension. When OH was made redundant he only ‘ signed on’ for about 6 months when he was informed that he didn’t need to sign on as his contributions were fully paid . He wasn’t getting any money through JSA as I was working and he was told he had to live off his private pension and savings. He was by then only a few months off qualifying for state pension. He was happy not to have to suffer the indignation of turning up for his appointments at the job centre only to be treated like some scrounger. Some of the male younger members of staff were patronising towards him. Whatever he did to prove he was actually seeking work wasn’t good enough but he said the women there, off all ages were lovely, extremely helpful.
Where I was working my boss ( new boss , no one liked him ) used to throw ALL applications and letters from anyone from the job centre into the bin without even so much as glancing at them. “ Haven’t got time to look at these from the likes of them from the job centre “ he would say . It’s no wonder honest decent folk find the whole experience extremely hard.

Oma still no results. Unbelievable! My DS had a bone density scan early in December, that’s not back yet . He is fed up of waiting.

Qwerty what’s all this nonsense about leaving the country, you might have to take all of us with you , you can’t go without us !

Have a dry , warm day ladies.

Daisy The ridged wire edging won’t actually stop the cats from getting into the garden but hopefully stop them using the short cut they have made over the years where the hedge no longer grows . If we can stop the constant use of this short cut the cats will stop walking over my daffodils that I have growing near the hedge and eventually the hedge will regrow to cover over the gaps. Privet hedge is fairly robust so hopefully it will recover eventually.

Morning all thank you for your apology Z I accept it but twice you have said this last week your words, I am not looking forward to going to the job centre, I have had dealings with them in my job and have not been too impressed the majority of the time. So of course I am offended , I have no interest in your personal claiming it’s no body’s business but yours , but I am sure you can understand my annoyance at staff being slagged off

                          Good morning everyone.

Pretty graphics Nan2 and Mimi ☺
Qwerty, I hope you are surviving Half Term Madness 😁
Zizi, it does sound as though the skin thing could possibly be stress related.

Regarding job centre staff, I suppose it is just like anything else, we can have good and bad experiences and that can colour our opinion.
Most of us rate the NHS highly, but have also had bad experiences there too (Like Bitch Nurse who did my pre op assesment last year 😕!)
As you say Qwerty, it can't be the easiest job.

It was very windy here last night. It is a frosty morning. I'm not too happy about OH playing golf for the first time since being ill, I hope it warms up!
                          GS2 day today.

Have a good everyone. Enjoy your pancakes if you have them!

Q I am not slagging anyone off. That is not in my nature. If I feel that I don’t want to do something or it is a waste of time I have a right to say so. I thought this was a forum we could discuss our feelings and problems. Thanks for upsetting me on the day of an interview.

Mimi I have enough NI contributions. You have to have 38 years of contributions and I have, so far, worked for 47 years with full contributions. It is a government requirement in order to qualify for redundancy payments as ghe company has zero money to pay so it has to come from the redundancy pot which has a name but I cannot remember what it is.

                            Signing off
