Collected the new car, very pleased with the drive home. It is sitting in the drive waiting for me to get the courage to put it in the garage.
Sil has the virus back, he is feeling very unwell again, so many people seem to be having relapses. DD took him to Stoke Mandeville A&E yesterday as he had a pain in his thigh. He has had a stroke (only in his 40's) and 2 DVT's. He has to go back this afternoon for some more checks. He and some of his siblings have an inherited gene from his mother's side of the family which makes them prone to blood clots, he takes warfarin to thin his blood. It could be just a muscle strain. He makes a big effort to stay fit but his job is very sedentary. I hope they find it isn't a DVT.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Late check in today ladies.
Daisy well done to you for taking the bull by the grumpy horns and getting OH to the doctor even though it meant a lot of to and froing for you.
Perhaps he was trying to do too much too soon.Glad you managed to entertain the troops whilst in the waiting room.
I hope you get a chance to relax as well as a sit down at the hairdresser tomorrow.
Plant I’m sure you’ll soon be putting that new car in and out of the garage like a yo-yo.
Sorry to hear SIL is poorly again. People don’t seem able to allow them selves to convalesce these days or perhaps financial constraints mean they have to go back to work too soon. Then if they aren’t 100% fit they pick up the bugs too easily again.Wish him a speedy recovery.Hope his tests give him the all clear.
Oma Sorry you had a bad night .Poor Mr Oma,no wonder he was in pain.Glad he’s feeling a bit better now.
Enfys your OH is doing so well. He’s a star patient
Pilates for me tonight. Why does it always rain on a Tuesday evening.? Although the school where the class is held is only a 5minute walk it’s enough to get blown to bits and soggy.

They have cleared SIL for a DVT so not sure what the pain in his thigh/groin is. He didn't sound too good when they came back from the hospital, the virus he had after Christmas seems to have returned but I expect the G&T he was drinking will make him feel more human.Last edited by Plantaholic; 23-01-2018, 11:14 PM.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Very windy here too this morning.
Friends are coming round for coffee this morning, so will be nice to have a chat with them. Then usual visit to hospital after lunch. While I was there yesterday the surgeon came round so we had a good chat. He is very pleased with how everything is going, P can start having solid food now so another step in the right direction.
Plant, I hope your SIL feels much better soon, good news about the DVT though. Oma, poor B, hope you both had a better night. Hope Clover and Daisy’s hubbies are much better too. What a lot of illness there is around at the moment.

Good morning all.
Very windy wet and rainy here.
I think bins would blow over here if it was bin day Nan2!
Plant, good news about no DVT for your SIL. He will get better, these things seem to drag on. Our friend called in after work yesterday. She has been poorly on and off for weeks and like your SIL it came back. She never takes time off work and has had to twice recently.
It will do you good to see you friends Enfys. I expect your OH will welcome gradually getting back to solid food.
Did you get very wet going to Pilates, Clover?
As DD2 is working away, it is GD and GS2 day today, instead of Friday. GS is at nursery this morning. Some of you may remember that last time this was the case. SIL didn't tell nursery I was collecting and I couldn't take him at first. This time DD has already emailed the nursery informing them of todays plans, so if SIL forgets again it is sorted!

Good morning.
Started off very windy but has now settled down to RAIN.
What a surprise.
Gem I made it to Pilates dry but windswept! A small class last night. Lots of people have bugs etc.We missed one of our ladies from the back row. This is the "Senior citizens "row ,as we are all around seventy, give or take a few years. We laugh together when we can't manage some of the things the younger ones in front can..Some of the oldies get very testy if a newcomer tries to take "their" place.
Plant ,like the others I'm glad SIL was cleared of DVT.
Enfys your OH is really doing well. A little more progress each day is the way to go.Enjoy your coffee morning. I could do with a good chat with someone.
Take care ladies. Off to make mushroom soup.My hand must have slipped when doing my on-line order as I received double the amount of mushrooms that I thought i had ordered.

Morning ladies Brian has gone for his yearly Scan , we wont get the results till 11th Feb so a nail biting time ,
He wouldn't let me go said no point I will just be sitting around waiting for him ,
Poor man was up again all night not with his tooth but he's getting this awful cold going around , he cant swallow with a sore throat and a sore tooth so feeling miserable ,
Worried as with a sore throat it will show up as a hot spot on the scan so I told him to tell them so it can be noted .
I have cleaned all downstairs. Washed, polished, hovered and washed the floors. Just the Chrome light switches and Sockets to rub with Baby oil and downstairs is like a new pin ,
Put some washing in but will leave that to iron tonight I have done enough for this morning ,
Plant good news no DVT I bet he was worried ,
Enfys your P is like my B gets on with it , the best attitude
Nanto its breezy hear too and grey and damp
Gem enjoy your day hope you get lots of cuddles
Clover I love Mushrooms but do you know I have NEVER had Mushroom soup , must try it , I love creamed Mushrooms so cant be much different is it ?

Grey day here, need to do some housework today but not dressed yet.
Haven't seen SIL yet today, he works from home a lot so even if you don't feel well you still check in to work, DD is home today.
Hope Brian's scan goes well and the results are good, poor man sore mouth and a beginning of a virus.
Enfys your husband is a star patient, he will enjoy his food today. Pleased you had visitors to chat to.
I have made mushroom soup in the past, I believe it contains cream and I am always on a diet. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good morning all .
Oma hope Bs scan goes well .
Plant that must be a relief about SIL , how is he feeling today
Enfys your OH is making good progress
Clover my DIL had one mushroom delivered to her with her online grocery shopping. She thought she had clicked on one pack , instead she had clicked on the loose mushrooms , hence the one mushroom !
We might well make silly mistakes once in a while but at least we aren't just plain stupid . I read today that a woman dialed 999 to ask how to store a cracked egg ! Another one wanted an ambulance to take her to the city centre so that she could take her cat to the vet. Another call was to request the ambulance service to come and remove a hedgehog from the side of the road .
Can't understand the stupidly and irresponsibly of some people !
It must be lack of sleep but today I am not in the mood for fools. OH put the bin out today only to discover that the free newspaper that is delivered every Tuesday was just left on the doorstep . It was obviously too much trouble to push the paper through the letter box. Not only was it left on the doorstep , we had two papers so was I expected to post one to my neighbour ? Its a good job it was raining last night and had soaked the paper otherwise we would have woken up to sheets of paper scattered all over the garden. Best t to avoid me today I think .
Best to avoid me today I thinkBring me sunshine in your smile.
