Very busy time for you Libra, we haven't moved since 1969.
Gemini, it must have been weird watching a film on your own.
Hope you find something to wear Grauntie, I see you are beating me at Word again.
Pleased to hear you have booked some caravan breaks Daisy.
I expect you are relieved your DD arrived safely Gemini, enjoy your meal out tonight with your friends.
Lovely start to the day, I am going to visit a farm with my WI friends. It used to be a dairy farm supplying milk to this area but they have had to diversify and a daughter of the family now organises visits, she also has a little shop and will provide tea and cakes. The old milking parlour is now let to a small brewery (I don't think that is part of the visit). They also supply animals for films. Part of the visit is a ride in a wagon? around the farm.I hope I can get onto the wagon and get off! If you don't hear from me I will still be stuck on it.

It never really brightened up here.
A friend called in with my birthday card this morning, and stayed for a coffee, which was nice. Apart from the girl who sold me my cinema ticket I spoke to no one yesterday so it was nice to chat
I did some ironing when she left. This afternoon I went to the library and had a good chat with the librarian about Friends Group and library stuff, so that was useful.
A beach day for OH and friends, they are wearing jackets. Tomorrow is their last full day and last day of golf, so fingers crossed it is nicer.

After a grey start the sun came out and we've had a lovely day! Took newspaper voucher along to newsagent and walked back along the river. Parts of the path were like a jungle, the plants were so high and thick. Managed to avoid the jaggy nettles though !
Clover, My parents got engaged at The Mumbles. Somehow they managed to meet there on leave during the war....well that's the story they told me!! Never been, but I believe it's very beautiful.
Off to sit out with my coffee and book for half an hour I think.

Lovely day here today. We went to Wareham, a nice little old Saxon town near us, walked along the river and then had lunch. It was really hot, lots of people on the river, boat trips and everyone sitting out in the sun enjoying a meal or a drink.

Had a nice surprise yesterday. Went to my new TG group and have a lovely bunch of roses as it’s my birthday soon and it’s a ‘big’ one....a 5 at the end. There were a few of us with birthday and two had flowers, how kind. They are a very friendly group of ladies and I think I will enjoy being a member.

We have a chap coming round soon to look at doing some work in the garden. We have a big hedge all down one side and I have banned DH from attempting to cut it! If there’s any other heavy work needing doing I would rather get someone else to do it now. DH not happy but I have spoken 🤨...she who must be obeyed 😃

Had a lovely afternoon on the farm, we sat on straw bales on a wagon pulled by a Landrover, had to hold on tight over the bumps. It is an interesting farm with lady farmer. They have let out buildings to different people, and are completely organic. Their organic beef is sold to M&S and she sells pork joints and sausages from their pigs. One of their milk floats appears in lots of television programmes and they have filmed Country File at the farm. We had lovely tea and cakes before we left. They have 3/4 school farm visits a week this time of the year and it is surprising where the children thought their food came from, they think the supermarket makes it all.

Wow, what a busy lot you've been. I didn't get as far as the Chatbox this morning, now I've got pages and pages and pages (more than 2 pages) to catch up. Please forgive me if I miss anyone.

Plant - I'm glad you enjoyed your farm visit. I have visions of Annie Get your Gun combined with Calamity Jane playing as a soundtrack! It's amazing how much farms can diversify if they have the imagination.

Gem - I hope you sat right in the centre of the cinema in your grand isolation, enjoying your Pimms - only the one? Or perhaps you were driving. Enjoy control of the remote and leave the ironing!

Enfys - Wareham is lovely , and it's been such a gorgeous day. We take the caravan to a nice site on the edge of Wareham Forest. Your new TG sounds like a lovely friendly group of ladies.

Qwerty - I bet you'll be glad when your drawers stop being the centre of attention!!!

Clover - I love The Mumbles too - we used to go there with students when we went to residentials at the university. Beautiful!

Grauntie - how is it we can have drawer-fulls (oops perhaps I shouldn't use that word at the moment) and wardrobes full of clothes but have nothing at all to wear! My OH never believes me!

Mimi - my OH doesn't understand pacing himself either - it's all or nothing at all for him!

Oma - I hope those herbs are now planted out and thriving! It's been a really nice warm day here today after a bit of a slow start.

Nanto - you've been working hard on your garden - I bet it looks lovely.

Now we've finally booked a couple of short caravan holidays I thought it was time to get myself MOT'd - annual checkup at the doctors, 6 monthly checkup at the dentists (both overdue) eye test (very overdue for me and OH). I started with what I thought would be the hardest - the doctors. The receptionist was lovely and offered me at least 5 appointments over the next week or so - none of which I can do, so we opted for Wed, 20th! I have to say this as it's so often the doctor not being able to offer appointments!

Then the dentist - dentist then hygienist so it's all done in one trip. First appointment was mid-August!!!! The dentist is away for 5 weeks. It's a good job he's so lovely!

Then online to Specsavers - low and behold two appointments one after the other for this afternoon! I used the online system because my DS1 was in charge of devising the software for it and I wanted to try it. So off we trotted to Lymington, only to find that the lady who did the pressure tests and the dispensing etc is an ex-student of mine. It made me feel old, she's 42 with teenage children - nearly as old as she was when I taught her!! Still, we had a good chat and a laugh. Then she commented that DIL2 had been in with GD2 last week, choosing new glasses. Apparently she had quite a chat with GD2. GD2 doesn't have the word 'shy' in her vocabulary.

Lymington looked in festive mood with bunting all the way down the high street, and looking out over the river and beautiful blue sky. I managed a bit of retail therapy while I was waiting for OH. The optician has referred him to the hospital as he thinks he may have a small bleed in one eye. OH doesn't seem unduly concerned, but I think it will need some treatment.

So, quite a productive day for the Daisy household!

A productive day indeed Daisy, and all those appointments booked!
What a nice day you had Plant
How nice to get the flowers Enfys, it does sound a nice group.

I had a nice meal with my friends and found parking right on the street which in York is almost unheard of! I think the fact that we met at 6.30 helped.

I'm pretty tired (It must be all that ironing!) so off to bed I go, Goodnight all, sweet dreams!
