I redid (or did for the first time, who knows LOL) the minutes. I did a washload and hung it out, and made soup, so I have been quite busy for a Saturday morning
We are feeding the neighbours cat this weekend, so I am going there now to see to her. The sun has come out so I am glad for OH's golf, and my washing!

Good grief Oma, yes store them on the ground floor! I am always battling with my OH over heavy things being dragged all the way up to the loft if there is an alternative
I hope your GD enjoys her birthday, despite the bite Daisy. My GD reacts badly to bites. Does yours take antihistamines to calm it down?

OH has been busy sowing some grass seed this morning on the poor bare big patch of ground which we laughingly call a lawn. He is doing this despite knowing that as from next week all the gas pipes are being changed in our street. Not only are the pipes being changed in the road the ones that run up to the front door as well .. Now I would have waited until all that work had been done, but will he listen to common sense ....no.... he knows best, He says that have to put back everything as it was and they will only be digging a long deep narrow ditch , they won't dig up the whole lawn.
There is every chance that they may not need to touch the lawn but if they do all those heavy boots walking on the seed , not ideal is it ? MEN !

Wee Granny it doesn't surprise me about the state some people leave property . My friend rented out her house as she was living away with her OH . He was in the army at that time but when they came back home to live in their house it was in such a bad state they had to live in rented accommodation while it was sorted out. They complained to the letting agency who put the tenants in there but said it was nothing to them as the tenants were from social housing and social housing said it was nothing to do with them, it’s the letting agency problem.

Our patio funture is still outside also , apart from the parasol, that’s in the shed. We have more than enough room to store the table (it’s only a small round bristo type) and two chairs in the shed . They sit snuggly under the big shelf where all the pots are stacked. Hopefully we will get a bit more sunshine before autumn kicks in. Tomorrow is supposed to be a wash out so I am going to cook some comfort food, roast beef with all trimmings and apples pie and custard for afters . I might as well be in the kitchen as I won’t be outside !

Hubby been putting a new security lamp up.This one is in a different place,so all the wiring had to altered.
Anyway it's done now.
I've just brought the washing in,its been out since 8o'clock.

I think it is a bad forecast here tomorrow too, so I have just done a second washload, a whites one. May as well hang things out while I can!

DD2 and family leave Cornwall today, staying overnight tonight near Birmingham. They had a very mixed week weatherwise, but have had a lovely time. They go abroad every year. It is so unlucky that the first time they opt for a UK holiday instead, and after a wonderful hot summer they get a poor week!

It’s been a lovely day here today and I managed to get a lot done. Sorted out an area of the garden which had become quite overgrown, cut the grass and gave the conservatory a good clean. I did doze off in the sunshine for about half an hour after I’d done all that but so pleased it’s all done. First time the grass has been cut for ages and it’s still,bare in patches but looks very green.

Daisy, your poor GD, hope it improves quickly, they can get infected so worth keeping a close eye on it. There have been a lot of horse fly bites around this summer, nasty things.

Well OH won the golf competition, so was very happy with herself!
To celebrate we went to M&S and bought meals for tonight ,and had a coffee in the cafe with free vouchers OH''s friend had given her 😊

I managed a couple of hours gardening.My neighbours are not gardeners and a lot of ivy and other shrubs and plants have grown over the fence and wall into my garden.I spent ages cutting back and clearing the boundary. I didn’t realise how bad it was until I started. Even now there is more to be done but I’ve made a start.
Every time I go into the garden the feral doves gather on the roof and then come down hoping I’ll give them some seed. I don’t mind once a day but every other time I go out they give me a guilty conscience when I don’t give in to them

Two loads of washing dried perfectly and carefully folded so I don’t have to be friends with the iron for too long

Well done S & all you other Grans who managed to complete the tasks they set out to do. I can't understand anyone leaving a house in a state for the next person. Shame on them.

Food shop & rested today after a surprise visit from DD & GC yesterday. Wish I had more energy.😧 Poor DD not well today...bad throat & extremely tired. I think she's very rundown. Note to self ....must start my artwork that I said I'd start a few weeks ago.

It brightened, and warmed up here today and has been quite nice, but I do feel that proper summer warmth has gone.

We had an unexpected visitor this morning which held us up a bit. I can't understand why people drop in unexpectedly and don't ask if it's ok. I was in a hurry to get a card posted before the collection time, and had to ask him to move his car so I could get out!! After he'd left OH and I went supermarket shopping. I was dreading it thinking it would be manic, but it wasn't too bad, but it was lunch-time by then. On the way home we called in to see the birthday girl. She's had a laptop for her birthday and she was over the moon. She knows she is very lucky indeed to get one and was really excited. We had got her a Pokemon Encyclopedia (don't ask, her dad said she'd love it and she does! I think dad does, too!!) a few clothes and a Spirograph.

Her leg is a bit better today. She went to the doctors earlier in the week and was told to take antihistamines and use AH cream as well. But we think she's allergic to something in the cream which has made it worse. So last night her mum didn't give her any medication, but put socks on her hands to stop her scratching the bite. It's still angry and painful - but not as bad as yesterday. Gem - she has dreadful reactions to all sorts of things. I had a good look round on the internet at pictures of bites, and I think this might have been a spider bite.

Nana - it's better to rest than try and carry on, and your artwork will still be there when you're ready. What are you working on?

Clover - glad you steered clear of the hot hissy thing! How is your arm? This year I stopped feeding the birds around the end of April once there were plenty of insects about and everything was growing. I'll start again when the frosts come, but I feel very guilty if I go out and the feeders are empty!

Enfys - my goodness, you did get a lot done. I hope you're now sitting with feet up and a glass of wine in your hand

Nanto - we could do with your OH coming here to sort out one of our security lights - it works when it feels like it, but often doesn't come on at all and not even the electrician could work it out!


Mimi - it will be very entertaining watching the workmen hovering 6 inches about your newly seeded lawn, because they know they shouldn't tread on it!

Pouring with rain here, I think it’s in for the day. I’m so pleased I got the grass cut yesterday. So a day in for us, I am making a chicken pie for lunch then I plan to settle down this afternoon with my crochet and a book and listen to the rain. 💦🌧

Good morning all , well it was forecast for today wasn't it , those hot summer days seem so long ago.
I am cooking a Sunday roast and baking an apple pie this morning the I will most probably setting down this afternoon watching a film . Florence Foster Jenkins is waiting for me to view on our Sky Q box so might watch that,
