Nanto - there's not much you can do with noisy sneezers!! I hope tonight is better.

Qwerty it may be too late for you to see this, but have a lovely, relaxing time. It sounds as though you've packed all the essential provisions! It does sound as though the farm will be quiet and peaceful. I hope the sheep or whatever they have sleep in in the mornings. Nice to know your car's gone to a kind and loving home.

We're still sorting out arrangements for the coming school year. I may well still have Cooper for one or two days, and in a way, it would be nice to pick the girls up from school a couple of days a week - otherwise I shan't see much of them. It's a 20 minute journey each way and in the winter when it's dark it's quite nerve-racking with ponies etc on the roads, so I'm not too keen on that aspect of it. We'll have to see how it pans out. But I definitely think you need to take it a bit easier, no matter what age you are! xx

Enfys - well done on missing the rain. We had a short shower, but nothing much.

      Afternoon all.
Work for me this morning then I grabbed a couple of hours in the garden, chopping a few shrubs(probably completely the wrong time but they are very big so hopefully won’t suffer too much!)and clearing a border. Started to rain now so I timed it well.

Daisy I love the image of Cooper clambering on to your lap

Oma I hope Storm feels better soon.

I hope Qwerty is soon settled in the cottage and has a lovely time.

            Hello everyone.

How kind of that lady Qwerty. I hope you have a lovely holiday.
Daisy and Qwerty, school pick ups are much easier than full days in the school holidays. The drive in the dark during winter is the problem though as Daisy says.

Sorry for the late in the day check in!
Our hairdresser was here at 8, then I had to go for petrol then make my way to meet DD and the children at the woods. My satnav helped me! DD's friend, husband and children were already there when I parked. Sad day as it is the friend's fathers funeral. Both parents were most appreciative of DD and me helping them. It is what friends do though, isn't it?
All 4 children were good and had a lot of fun. The little 3 year old boy was so cute! DD's dad (Never knowingly on time LOL!) arrived to help just as the children were having popcorn and toasted marshmallows at the end of the session. He then came with us to a farm shop cafe with play area a few miles away. The children played and we all had lunch. It was useful to have 3rd adult there for while, especially when DD went inside to order all our food.
A lovely day was had by all.
On the way back I called in on my auntie to invite her to my mum's birthday event. She was pleased to see me and I stayed for a cuppa and abiccie, and chat.

DD has just been and collected doggo, so no more smelly poo picking for the time being! They had a fantastic, albeit expensive holiday in the States and completed on their house yesterday. They went in to have alook around only to discover a smell of gas and to find it was filrthy. DD reckoned the previous owner hadn't done any housework for a LOOOOOONG time. The gas leak is in a pipe somewhere and the floor will have to come up for it to be repaired. Luckily(they'd decided after seeing the state of the floors to rip up the laminate and dump the carpets and get new stuff, so at least the pipes will be a bit more accessible. And the downstairs toilet doesn't flush! Poor girl was in tears when she was telling me. And of course there's n o tradesmen around because it's a Bank Holiday weekend. At least they've got their rented house for another month, so things can get sorted before they have to move.
              Have a good evening everyone.x

p.s. GM.....DD makes cakes as a hobby! Thanks for all your kind comments about her work...she doesn't take after me in the cake decorating skills!

WG, I think I remember your bringing some lovely cupcakes to Birmingham for us!

I don't know how people can leave a house in that state

WeeGranny, i don't know how anyone could leave a house in that state.
Mind you saying that, when we got this house,it had a coal fire, and the ashes filled the fireplace.
They had also left and old boiler with water and clothes in.
The house had been empty for 3 months,so you can imagine what that was like.
Hubby got the boiler outside, took the clothes out, left them to dry for a while, then poured petrol over them and burned them.

So sorry to hear that WeeGranny, I am sure they will soon whip it into shape. Holmer Green is a nice village, love the duck pond.

Clover -you did well to dodge the rain and get some gardening done. I'm sure all the bushes/shrubs will survive.

Oma - Glad to hear Storm's tummy is getting better!!

WeeGranny - Oh, your poor DD. She must have been so upset to find their new home in such a mess. A similar thing happened to our DS1 and family when they moved into their current house. It was so bad DIL and I didn't even want to put boxes on the kitchen worktop, and covered them with clean wrapping paper first! It was disgusting! But you get through it, it's just disappointing when you first see the state of things. Do give your DD and family best wishes for their new home.

Gem - what a lovely day you had, despite the sadness of the funeral. I bet the children all sleep well tonight after all that fresh air. I'm sure your Auntie will be looking forward to your Mum's birthday celebration.

We took Cooper home tonight. DS2 and family have had a lovely couple of days and both girls were very tired!

Good morning, nice start to the day,bit chilly though.
                        It was like winter yesterday.

No shopping today, hubby just gone to pick his brother up, gone to a car boot sale.
Hubby planning on doing a few jobs if it stays dry.

Good morning from a sunny (at the moment) South Wales.

A second load of washing in as the forecast is reasonably promising.

I’m hoping to do a bit more in the garden.

                          Have a lovely day everyone.

                            Good morning Nan2 and Clover.
That's a lovely picture to wake up to Nan2
Sunny and chilly here too. OH will be playing golf later. A match which had to be postponed when we had a lot of rain.

Nothing planned for me. I must do the minutes of the last meeting, as the next one is in a couple of weeks. I was certain I had done them and they just needed fine tuning, but I cannot find them on the laptop. So, back to my notes and get on with it today.
I was thinking of going to the cinema, but I'm not sure that I will.

Happy Saturday everyone. I hope Plant and Qwerty's holidays go/continue well.

Good morning from a sunny south coast - but it is a bit chilly.

We need to do a bit of shopping today other than that, not sure. It's our GD1's 8th birthday, but she's having her party in September when they're back at school. So we might do something like going out for lunch today. The poor girl has got a really horrible painful bite on her leg so isn't feeling great.

                                Morning ladies ,
Ouch Daisy bet its sore poor girl .
Gem its so annoying when you think you have done something then find you haven't , hope it doesn't take too long and you manage the cinema , what are you going to see ?
Nanto its nippy hear but sun is out ,
Clover I have my bedding on the line but im not sure it will dry well its cold outside ,

Swept the drive and the alley way down the side of the house this morning then cleared the leaves from the grass , I have taken the Parasol down and put that its base away as I don't think we will need it again this year ,
I have left the table and chairs out though ,
Usually over the winter we dismantle them and store them in the loft but its a hassle and they are heavy to get up the stairs then up the loft ladders ,
So I have decided we have room down the side of the shed for one of those small plastic tool sheds , not the tall ones just a small one ,im going to get one of them to store the dismantled table and folding chairs in ,
We wont be able t see it as it will be at the back and I put my bins down there too so they will go in front . Next project look around for a suitable one
Im not fat just 6ft too small
