We've had a sizzling sunny day here - perfect. But it was too hot for gardening, so I've had a relaxing day - lunch out in the garden and did a bit more on the painting I started in the caravan. I don't seem to have made much progress, though!

It was even too hot to take Eva out, and OH and our friend have gone down to the allotment now to plant the runner beans. I'm going to go and get dinner ready in a few minutes. I can't decide what to do, but all that talk of lovely pies in the freezer has made my mouth water.

Nana - your poor OH his hay fever sounds really bad. I hope he enjoys his treat tomorrow. Good luck for the blood test on Tuesday - and I hope they will give you the shingles jab - it's such a painful illness and can drag on.

Plant - I hope your SIL's Mum's birthday party went well - you certainly had the weather for it. How did Milo get on? No more tree climbing, I hope!

WeeGranny - I'd heard that about going knickerless in the summer! (Not you personally, but in general)

Qwerty - you're certainly straight back into granny-dom after your holiday. You'll need another break by next week, but I do hope you find all your knickers!! Your poor DD, I bet she's really fed up of feeling poorly. Hope she's better soon.

Enfys - glad you found your cross-stitch kits. I'm always losing things, especially when I think I've put them in a 'safe' place'!!

Gem - I'm sure today has been a rather sad day, and with OH away too! Sending hugs. xxx

Very hot here, just right for a party in the garden. Birthday girl had a lovely time with four of her six children, partners and GC. DD and SIL laid up two tables on their terrace for 17 people, it looked lovely. We had to move under the trees after the meal, it was so hot. Children had a lovely time, playing football, table tennis and bouncing on the trampoline. Kitten was fine, he is very sociable.

I have had a shingles jab Nana, I have everything offered to avoid health problems

Nan2 I am 67yrs old. They may consider giving it me though as having ME I'm more susceptible to illnesses. I had the flu jab & pneumonia one this time.

Qwerty, wot ya like? Loosing Kylie's glasses. She may need them now she's turned 50. Glad you enjoyed London. Your poor DD though. Never rains. Thinking of a few Grans in particular but I hope Gem's ok.

Very quick good morning from me as off to look after GD2 and Cooper for the day It will be too hot to bring them back here - the dogs don't know when to stop running round - so I'll spend the day at their house.

Nana - I think it's 70 for the shingles jab, but as you say with your other health issues I think they'll give it to you.

Qwerty - if you don't find Kylie's specs, check your household insurance - you may be covered.

Oma hope you get some sleep.

Gem - sending hugs. Have you got a busy day? xxx

Plant - what a wonderful birthday party!

Must go now, but will try and drop in later.

                  Good morning all.
A dull start here, but it was just like this yesterday and we had a lovely sunny afternoon. I will update in my journal later.

You have come back to a busy time Qwerty! I hope your DD gets sorted out soon, poor thing. Sorry about your glasses too! Would they be covered on your home insurance? Look forward to reading about your holiday in your journal when you have time.
It sounds as though your DD had a good day Plant. Summer weather and family days, lovely!
Have a good GD and doggy day Daisy.

This morning I am meeting a lady in blue Corsa in the health centre car park at 11am. Sounds a bit dodgy I know, but I am buying a swing ball set from her!
I will go and see my mum for a while after lunch, and water her pots and planters, then on to collect GS1 from school. I won't be home until 7ish, so my day is pretty full.
Thanks for thinking of me everyone, especially the dear friend who messaged me last night. I was very sad saying goodbye and coming home, but I'm OK.

                  Happy Monday everyone

Very cloudy this morning, house almost back to normal after the party, DD and Sil worked so hard to make it nice. They didn't do the cooking, SIL's sister and niece provided that. Lots of clearing up afterwards, some of my cutlery, plates and bowls still in the queue for their dishwasher. Plumber expected soon to fix my toilet flush.

Will be thinking of you and OH Enfys

Oma, I hope you got some sleep

Qwerty, do you think the dieting has caused your DD to be anemic?

Plant sounds a lovely day and the weather was perfect for outdoor meal ,
Daisy send some sun this way please its dull again hear although not good for the dogs is it .

I thought the same about Qwerty's glasses will they be covered on her insurance , lot of money to lose ,

Well I went to bed and fell asleep just before 6 I remember looking at clock and it was 5.50 then I woke at 8.15 to the Dog nudging my face , B thought he was outside but no he had come looking for me

Had a bit of a Hissy fit this morning ,
In the bathroom I use Anti bac wipes and Detol spray then dry everything off with kitchen roll ,
This morning B shouted down there was no kitchen roll in the landing cupboard so I said I would throw one up ,
Well no matter how many times I tried to throw it up it kept rolling back down the stairs ,

I just blew up a real 2 yr old tantrum Didn't help B was standing on the landing laughing
In my defence im very tired but I really had a tantrum
Wouldn't have taken 30 seconds to walk up the stairs with it but I was adamant it wasn't getting the better of me
                            Childish I know
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Sorry Oma that made me laugh. I can just picture the scene. These inanimate objects do their best to make life more difficult Could have been worse if it had started to unroll
It’s sweet that the dog wanted to see you but not so sweet if he woke you from much needed sleep.Perhaps you can have a Nana nap later.

I’ve been quite busy this morning. Went out to water the garden before the sun got round to it then tidied up and did some long overdue hissy thing activity Nearly melted in the process.

I also made some blueberry muffins. They certainly aren’t very uniform but Hey! -the fruit didn’t sink.
