Good afternoon all. I woke up really late, after 9, been pottering about this morning and we’ve just had lunch, It’s been raining all night and all morning so our plans to go out for a long walk have gone to pot! DH has sorted out his wardrobe and filled a charity bag so that’s a good job done. I plan to chill out this afternoon, with my book, crochet and Netflix...blow the jobs waiting to be done, they will still be there tomorrow.

A few minutes peace and quiet - which in itself is a worry!! Think toddlers and silence, egged on by an older sister - that's Cooper and Eva at the moment!! He is exhausted and has just lain down for the first time, but right at the top of the landing, so I'll have to climb over him to get downstairs. He gets excited having Eva to play with, although she's gone into her bed several times, which is her signal to leave her alone for a bit. Then he goes from toy to toy, chewing, tossing them around, and chasing tennis balls. Every time I go into the kitchen he counter surfs, so I have to keep everything out of his reach. To be fair, he's getting better, but I'm not used to needing eyes in the back of my head all the time. But by far the worst thing is this constant endless rain. I've never seen it this wet before - it's beginning to look like a Biblical flood in our garden. Cooper's favourite game is to watch the drips off the end of the greenhouse splashing in the huge puddle and trying to catch it or bat it with his paw. Of course as soon as he moves in that close the drips 'disappears' - or rather lands on his head. Not sure who the bigger drip is in this case, but it keeps him amused.

Gem, I think if you get your mum's new tv set up and working, but she isn't sure, I'd develop a sore back or strained muscle, and ask her to hang on to it until after the week-end - after all if she comes to you tomorrow she won't be in to watch it anyway. New electrical things take a while to get used to - even for us youngsters - so I can understand it if she's a bit uncertain. But when she's had chance to see how much better the picture is, and probably the sound, she will hopefully grow to like it.

Clover - well done on using 'the box'. It could easily just be the tail end of a chesty cold, or just the very cold weather so no point in worrying. xxx

Plant - I had a hot cross bun at lunch-time. It was yummy. Oma - what a shame yours wasn't yummy. You expect better from M&S! I'd take the rest of them back.

Mimi - I do sympathise, and I know you can't help worrying, but your OH is right. You can only do so much and then it's down to them (our children) to sort themselves out. Look forward to your nice lunch on Easter Sunday and put the world and it's problems to one side for a while.

LG - I'm sure you needed that bit of time to yourself today. I'm sure the guinea pigs appreciate you very much.

Enfys - the rain is awful, isn't it! I can anybody hadn't noticed, I'm officially FED UP with it!!

Well after a reasonable morning, the rain has started and it's really cold!

Went shopping this morning and I've never seen Sainsbury's car park so full. The world and his wife and children and grandchildren all seemed to be there. OH came with me, not a good move and mumped and moped his way round. Wouldn't have been so bad, but he was the one who suggested he came!

Can recommend the Hot Cross loaf from M&S, very nice! And we've found the Waitrose basic Hot Cross buns are about the best we've had.

As DD is busy this weekend with OH and DS activities, we're not going there. Instead we've booked lunch at a local hostelry for Sunday. Can't cook a proper meal, so just as well to get someone to it for us!

Hope all the poorly people soon feel better, the busy ones have a chance to relax and this b***** rain stops soon!

The TV is going back, the email response from Wetherby Whaler was less than satisfactory
I will write about these matters in the relevant sections!
No Easter egg Libra, that's not fair!!

An even later hello from me , I’ve had a really busy day, was out of the house by 10 00 this morning collecting my bread order from local bakers , off to DDs for tea and cake, managed to fit in s rather large g/t at 11 o’clock whist there, I know it’s disgusting isn’t it but would have been rude to refuse. Exchanged Easter gifts so OH and I have Eggs yippee.
Came back and went to pray at the hole in the wall and lo and behold I drew some money !!
Quick flick round with duster and vac and DS and family came for tea early so we could have time for our chatting and kids playing and again exchanging gifts , so 2 more eggs for the old folk .
They left at 7 pm so tidied the mess up
Tomorrow we are away a few dys well three to be exact so a bit of packing to do , probably snow shoes warm clothes etc as they have forecast snow in York, a bit of a disappointment as we had planned to go into York still there is always the bar, afternnon tea, swimming pool, dozing on the bed and back to the bar for 3 dys but it will be a break and much needed
Hope everyone eating out and In has a good meal, and have a lovely peaceful, relaxing bank holiday weekend 🍫

Everything Nan2! I have posted about it on Caring for the Older Generation.
Qwerty, I think it will only snow a tiny bit on Monday. It will be so nice to get a break together anyway.

Sounds like a lovely break Qwerty. Have a great time. I love York, must try and get there again.

Qwerty - the break sounds just what you need irrespective of the weather. I've never been to York!!

WG - eating out is by far the best thing to do when you've got no kitchen. In fact, I can't quite work out why I've got a kitchen at all, given I'm not a dedicated cook and would much rather someone else did it.

I eventually managed to get dinner cooked, despite Cooper's help, bless him! He's now had an hour or so's sleep and is playing again.

Raining heavily again. The poor daffodils in the garden are getting battered.

Not going into town today, but doing a bit of supermarket shopping.

                              Have a good day ladies.

Good morning from me! It's not actually raining here - yet! It's very grey and the ground is waterlogged. I hope the rain holds off for our DS2's house move today.

We're probably just pottering round the house today - no plans!

                                Have a good day everyone.
