Burns Supper tonight....I'm in charge of the puddings! Just got finishing touches to put to cheesecake and trifle. Enough sherry in trifle to send everyone home happy!
    Miserable day here,rain and wind.
Man been here to survey what needs moving power and waterwise before the kitchen gets ripped out at the beginning of April. Quite excited by the thought of completely new kitchen, but think it'll take a while to work out where things are!
Hope all poorly people and OHs are feeling better today.

Quiet day for me, I have chicken in the slow cooker and I have made some butternut and red lentil soup. Love my soup maker Gemini, good for my diet.

Enjoy the Burns Supper WG. Mmmm, trifle!
Plant, the soup maker is one of the best things I have bought.
          Love the sparkly leotard Mimi
Enfys, have all the chocolate you want, and anything else which makes you feel better!
Glad the wallpaper is on Nan2.
Did you do the jigsaw Clover?
I hope B is feeling better Oma.

OH enjoyed her lunch and catch up, we are all prepared for our little visitors. We have ordered pizza delivery from the (very good) pizza place in the village. No one delivers out where GD lives, so the odd time she has it here it is a real novelty

I'd rather have a pizza than haggis Gem! I believe non haggis eaters will be given ham instead!

I tried some veggie haggis at Christmas WG and it was really nice. I don't fancy the proper type though!

Good evening, everyone. The internet went on strike before I could say 'hello' this morning. I suppose a rainy Saturday morning = everybody in our road trying to grab their little bit of online time! Goodness knows when we'll get proper working broadband!!!

I hope I'm not getting OH's germ-fest - I feel very tired and have no energy, plus a bit of a sore throat. I've just done essentials today, but need to think about dinner soon! I'm wishing now I'd bought haggis when I'd seen it in the supermarket last week - I love it. But the supermarket version isn't a patch on an amazing Game butcher we used to have locally. His haggises were fantastic - and huge! WG - enjoy your evening.

Nanto - I do love that wall paper. Are you pleased with it?

Clover - sorry to hear G is still suffering. My OH is (so glad we didn't go to the Potato Day) although his appetite is a bit better.

It's been a miserable, wet day here, too!

Off to do dinner - if I can decide what!

My decorating is done in the bedroom, a pale lemon, floor is down, wardrobe waiting to be filled (no problem on that front!) and husband has out together the NEXT chest of drawers. Very smooth operation I have to say but the putting in if the drawers did produce light blue air. A few adjustments needed tomorrow, light fitting to go up as was very dusty after all the work, bedside cabinets still to be finished and a couple of bits to be brought in plus I want to buy rugs for the sides of the bed. I don’t want to aoend huge amounts of money it is more for putting your feet on something warmish in the morning as we have always had carpet before. Once it is all complete it will look lovely.

Tomorrow I shall go to the supermarket first thing as need lightbulbs for the new lamps. I know I have some but the spare room is chocka and we will use them all once we find them. Then I have to do a good zap with the sucky uppy thingie because although we cleared up after the unpacking of the flat pack stuff I keep seeing little bits of polystyrene in corners and nestling against the furniture. Husband used the sucky upper but his eyesight is so bad he doesn’t see little bits like that. I dont tell him, I just wait until he is out if the way and do it myself. Then I have to tackle the chocka room. I have a gorgeous set of retro suitcases which are drawers, they look like they are separate but they aren’t. They are my treasure drawers and have been in the sitting room until we had it decorated so I am going to try them in the bedroom. We have a theatrical hamper which I have had for over forty years with towels and bed linen in. We have room now for those to go in the cupboards but I don’t want to get rid of the hamper, if I don’t find a use for it husband will insist it goes but that’s all I have left if my time travelling and singing with bands when I was younger. I also need to send my proof of no claims to the car insurer, start my course which I had intended to do today but ran out of time. And I need to make a menu list for next week as I haven’t done any proper shopping since the company collapse and my freezer is a bit hungry. I know I now have time to go shopping every day but I want to try to stick to some semblance of routine so that when I do get another job it is not a shock to the system if you know what I mean?

Gosh now I have read that back I might have to make one of my famous lists and prioritise!

Zizi - I'm exhausted just reading about your busy day, but you must be delighted to see the room coming together at last. It will be worth it!!

Nanto and Gem - Yes, I hope I'm not getting it too! We're going up to DS1's tomorrow for GS2's belated birthday bash, and, hopefully DIL's brother and family will be there with their brand new baby girl. I certainly don't want to share germs with the baby's mummy!

Clover - thank you. I'm going to bed with a couple of paracetamol and hope I'll feel ok in the morning.

Great catching up with all your news. Again I'm sorry that I can't respond to each individual post.

I have to bite the bullet tomoro' & help DD out. A really big job so it will take 3 of us while DD looks after the children. I could have done it but I'll be more useful on the other task. I honestly can't wait for it to be over.
