Zizi you have been busy, you put me to shame.
Daisy I hope you haven’t gone down with the dreaded lurgy !
I have only tasted haggis once, and once was enough. Yuck !
Going to try a recipe for pork chop with honey and herb cooked in the slow cooker today.
Hope I find all our poorly ladies and their families in much better health today.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning everyone! Thank you for the nice cheery graphics Nanto and Mimi - they make for a happy start to the day.
Nana - as Oma says, be careful not to overdo things today - try and pace yourself. xx
The weather's calm and still here - no sun yet, and I think it's more likely to be rain, but it would be nice if it could stay dry. It's GS2's family birthday party today. He had a party with friends (I'm not sure what they did!) but 4 of them stayed for a sleepover. It's hard to believe he's 13! Today it's all the grandparents and two of his cousins - including the new baby who we haven't seen yet. There'll also be Eva and Bailey and they like the back door open so they can run in and out, but not practical if it's raining!
It's a pity DS2 and family can't make it - it's GD1's best friend's birthday and they'd both be devastated if she missed it. They can have a get together with GS2 another week-end. His actual birthday was 14 January.
I feel a bit better after a good night's sleep. the sore throat is still there, but I've got a nice relaxing day to look forward to.
OH is still asleep, but hopefully he's on the mend.
Mimi - I've never cooked chops in the slow cooker - let us know how they turn out.

Good morning ladies.
Glad you don’t feel too bad Daisy. If it is anything hopefully it’s just a “normal” cold and not something that will floor you.Hope J is recovering and you have a lovely time with GS2 and family.
Nana as others have said please don’t overdo things. It’s easy sometimes to get carried away without realising especially if you are helping someone.
It’s Misty and drizzly here. That’s the price we pay sometimes for living so close to the sea but the good days make up for it (when will that be I wonder
)
Off to make a cake and do some i.....g .Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning everyone
Take it easy Daisy and hopefully your sore throat will go.
Nana (and everyone else) don't worry about not replying to individual posts here. Sometimes we can, sometime we can't
What type of cake did you make, Clover?
GD and GS2 have gone now. Rather a flying visit! Usually when they are here overnight they would be here at least until lunchtime, if not later. However GD had a tap exam at 10am, so DD took her there and SIL and baby went shopping for a few bits. They have a relaxing day ahead for the 4 of them after that however.
We do to, but I need to go to my mums and do a couple of things for her. It is raining grey and downright miserable here!!

Sil seemed a bit better yesterday, no energy.
Weather something of nothing here, very still and slightly sunny.
Nothing happening for me today, it was booked for our Christmas present tea. Sil's mother who is over 90 had her hair done as usual on Thursday and had her nails jelled and painted to match the new jacket she was going to wear, she is amazing. I shall have to pull my socks up.
Have a lovely time at GS' party Daisy. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Morning ladies ,
Gem that was a flying visit
Daisy hope whatever you have goes quickly ,
Clover same hear , Grey misty and wet .
We went to MIL's yesterday afternoon so Brian & Martin could take her old bedroom carpet up and move her wardrobes into the spare room , luckily they on casters so moved without effort ,
Dismantled her old pine bed frame ready for the British heart foundation picking it up on Wednesday , and put her new Divan bed up ,
When that was done myself and Clare made up the bed and hovered the bits off the underlay where the old carpet had been cut up ,
When we came down she had made corned beef pie and Ham & egg pie , They were lovely with a cup of tea but by I suffered with heart burn all night with the pastry
Brian and myself will go on Wednesday for the BHF coming to pick bed up and then when our SIL fits carpet so she has nothing to worry about ,
Now to work on her to get a new Sofa and curtains
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Husband went out at 5.45am to run a training course which I wasn’t happy about as I think I wrote elsewhere. I woke up at 7am, went to the loo, got a drink of wate and decided to go back to bed! Up at 8.30 which is quite late for me and was getting ready to nip to supermarket and husband rang to say ten minutes into the course it got cancelled so he was on a bus coming home so he came to supermarket with me. Got home ad he realised he hadn’t scanned and paid for the bread rolls he bought so he wanted to go back and pay. Now I am no shoplifter but I refused. I am sure they have lots of thing pinched which are more than 56 pence! So HE is the shoplifter. Won’t let him forget that too easily!
White wash just just stopped in the machine. It is a lovely day outside so hopefully I might get it all dry. Husband will be finishing bits and pieces off in the bedroom and helping me to fight the little bedroom. Got to dash and have a look at the other posts before getting on with all of my tasks that I have lined up for today.
See you all later!Last edited by ZIZI; 28-01-2018, 01:06 PM.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Wow, avo! Enjoy that beef
Zizi, I wouldn't have gone back to the supermarket for such small amount either. It was an honest mistake!
Oma, your MIL has a good, supportive family
Only OH and I anything for mum, it's hard, we could do with a 'Martin'

Avo that must be some piece of beef!
I’ve flashed the flat, hissy thing around and made the cake Gem it’s a marbled mocha cake (just a rich cake mix with one third flavoured with coffee, one with chocolate and one left plain and then swirled together in the tin.) I’ll put some sort of icing on it later.
Still horrid weather here.Very envious of Zizi’s fine day.
