ZIZI, hope things work out for you.

Disappointing about the washer not coming today. Wonder what they would have said,
if you had said no,it isn't ok.

Clover were you given today as your delivery day, if so they should have turned up . I would dispute paying delivery charge if they haven’t turned up on the day quoted

Q I am on the employee nomination committee, well I was, but it has been suspended. That was £40,000 split in £500 batches for employees to nominate a charity twice a year and a bunch of us on the committee discuss it and vote. We have withdrawn from a homeless charity I have worked with for nine years and I am expecting to hear that Hospice UK support will be suspended. In the meantime those of us working within the community and regeneration part of the company are attempting to carry on regardless but it is getting harder and harder with no support from above. The Company lost £1.5 billion in the first half of this year so the reality is that however much they would like to carry on with major charity support it is more important to maintain the workers livelihood, not including mine of course as the charity sector is my job!!!

Just smiled at your clipper comment. Husband NEVER reads the instructions and gets all frustrated so these days when he has flung them down in disgust I quietly read them, wait for a while and then make a gentle suggestion as in “had you thought that maybe........”. He usually makes a harrumph noise as if I don’t know what I am talking about and shortly after “discovers” the very thing I mentioned.

Oma you and table napkins! I use white or cream linen or Cotten ones unless we have family here but I do have paper ones as well just in case of for when the children come.

I think I mentioned a little while ago thst husband had reluctantly to accept being classified as partially sighted and got annoyed when the hospital and RNIB started sending him letters in huge writing? Well today the post came and the only thing that came was a newsletter from the Surrey Society For the Blind. It is in a huge font. I laid it on his chair (he was at work) front down. When he came in he said “what is that” I said it was something especially for him so he turned it over. It is in the bin........

Today I spent most of the day on my course. I thought I had nearly finished but the last two modules I have done are enormous, the previous ones only took an hour each. One, which I haven’t done the test for yet, has taken me all afternoon. I will work on it tomorrow, I really want to get it finished and there ar seven more modules, I hope they don’t get longer/harder the further along you get because that is what it feels like.

Mimi it is free delivery so I can’t make a fuss about that!

All day Imhave been tracking DD’s flight to Australia, on and off, and they will be landing in 10 minutes! She FaceTimed me this morning when they landed in Kuala Lumpur and they looked very tired, they hadn’t managed to sleep at all. Really looking forward to seeing them all together.

Qwerty - there is absolutely nowhere else in this house that I could do the ironing. It will just have to wait patiently!!!

Zizi - I'm sorry it sounds like more bad news for your company - it must be very depressing and unsettling.

Plant - it's quite nice to get back to ournormal activities, isn't it!

Oma - are you sure 600 napkins is enough?

Clover - I think you were more polite than I would have been. I hate it when someone says we can't do what we promised, will that be all right! No it jolly well isn't all right! You'll have to give your new machine a good work out when it does arrive. Thank goodness you've got the spin drier - it's awful trying to get dripping wet clothes dried indoors.

Mimi - your OH and mine sound like borthers! My OH promised to build a bird feeding station in a tree trunk we had to cut down to around head height. but he got side-tracked with making a (very nice) oak garden table instead. How likely are we to be sitting out in the garden in January, having a drink or a coffee and needing a table!! And the birds are hungry now!

Zizi - well done on steaming ahead with your course, dispite all the other things going on. I had to smile at your OH's reaction to the huge-print letter. Bless him.

Enfy - it's great tracking flights isn't it. I do it when my DS is taking long flights. I'm sure their tiredness will be forgotten when they get together with your DS and family. xx

Today I had visions of getting both GDs fed, and GD2 in the bath before DS2 and DIL got home from puppy training, knowing they'd be tired. The girls were about 2 minutes into their spag bol when DIL2's cousin arrived with his 2 ½ year old son - full of excitement at seeing his big girl cousins. It was lovely to see her cousin and I hadn't seen the little boy since he was a baby, but of course the girls then wouldn't eat. They all got very excited and GD2 and little boy ended up in tears - and then DS2 & Co arrived home! Their house is very tiny and the noise levels were a bit high!!! Cooper was very tired and hungry - his dinner disappeared in about 3 seconds, and then he fell asleep in this crate. I'm looking after him tomorrow along with GD2 so it would be nice if he's still just a little bit sleepy after today!

Daisy its like having a toddler around the house with Pups isn't it , you long for nap time

Clover my SIL.s parents bought a big American fridge freezer from Currys ,and it was delivered on Sunday
The delivery men wouldn't bring it further than the hall as its a split level house and there are 6 steps into her kitchen
Curry's delivery men only do 3 stairs

But this was the bug bear they carried the old freezer up the 6 stairs to take away as she had paid for that service ,

They left it half in and half out the hall and front door ,
SIL had to go over with his friend and try get it down the stairs but they couldn't do it as they didn't have any lifting straps like the delivery men had ,, so they had to push it into the garage and arrange for Curry's to collect it and
change it for a smaller separate fridge and freezer ,
They told the assistant in the shop about the stairs and she said it would be fine ,

I wouldn't have left it at that I would have kicked up a stink but they are too quiet to cause a fuss , shocking service isn't it .

                  Drizzly this morning.

Oma, i know when the big american fridge freezers started selling here,
they used to come from the shop to check they would be able to get it in.
When son and his ex wife ordered one, they came out from the shop to check.
Don't think they bother now though.

A bit of a late night last night round at parents. Mam has a form of spondylosis, her spine is curved.
Yesterday when i was there she was complaining her back was painful.
Last night my sister in law rang,to see if i would go with her, as mam had rung her in tears.
Not really a lot we can do, but give her some painkillers and try to make her comfy in bed.
Anyway after a couple of hours she was feeling better.
I think she is more scared, because she always thinks this it, the end.

Enfys, i'm sure they will be raring to go,after a bit of sleep.

                    Morning Nanto /Ladies .
Your poor MIL Nanto she must get scared bless her , all she needed was a bit of reassurance didn't she ,

Well we both have been up since 3am , I went to bed at 11 up again at 11.30 , went back at 1 but couldn't settle finally started to dose off turned over and fell out of bed
B laughed so hard we ended up with the fit of giggles so couldn't get back to sleep , came down and made a cupper and just didn't bother going back

I think I forgot this is a smaller bed and had my feet out as they were hot must have moved too near the edge

                      Good morning all.
Well Oma that's our laugh for the morning Thank goodness you weren't hurt though. OH was telling me about 2 people from the golf club (separate incidents with no connection) falling out of bed and hurting themselves. A man cut his head by banging it on the bedside table, and a lady broke her arm
Poor MIL, Nan2. I have scoliosis, a different form of spinal curvature, so I can sympathise. You can understand how scary anything health related is at their age. My mum is the same.

A very different outlook here to the white frosty one yesterday morning.
GS1 to collect from school today, his first day back. I will stay at theirs, and hopefully be home around 7. Before that I will return the Christmas handbag to M & S.

                      Have a good day everyone.

A bit dull, here but doesn’t feel so cold at the moment.

Glad you’re ok Oma, but you did make me laugh.

Had some nice photos from DD of her and GD and GS in Oz. Lovely sunshine, sitting by the pool....would love to be there.

Off for haircut this morning, not much else planned today. Have a good day ladies 😀

                          Enfys,glad they arrived safely.

Going to ring parents in about an hour. if i ring now,
they will want me to go round now.
Just changed the bedding and got it in the washer, cleaning bedrooms now.
I know it sounds selfish, but i really want to get my jobs done first.

Nan2, selfish is the last thing you sound! You are a brilliant daughter in law, and do so much.
Aww, I bet you would like to be there with them Enfys. Lovely to see the photos though, I'm sure.

Good morning everyone. Shhhhhhh...... Cooper’s asleep 💤. Yes Oma it is just like having a toddler around, but with sharper teeth! Thanks for the laugh, you plonker, falling out of bed. Gem, I didn’t realise it was such a common event. Perhaps it could become an Olympic sport and Oma could be our star turn. 😜

Enfys, how lovely to see the photos, and I know I would wish I was there with my family too. Xx

Nanto you are definitely not selfish. You are in effect running two homes and you need to give time to both of them. I hope MIL is feeling better today.

Gem, I hope GS1 has enjoyed his first day back.

Ive planned a quiet day at DS2’s today, although GD2 and Cooper may have other ideas. Then back to dog training with Eva tonight. Cooper did well at puppy class. doing sit, down, stand, hand touches etc. Training at home has had some effect. 😀

Have a good day everyone. 😀

Hope you get your quiet day today Daisy but you know about best laid plans.

Not selfish Nanto, as the others have said you are a very caring DIL, sorry your MIL is in pain.

Enfys, I am sure the pictures were welcome, knowing they had arrived safely.

I have to go out and get the car filled with petrol, get it cleaned before people start writing on it, then I have a parcel to collect from M&S Food Hall just down the road. This evening, is a cancelled, because of the snow,Christmas meal with my Guiding friends.
