Not so cold here today, so popped out to the building society and a mooch around the shops. DH is managing the walking very well, just has to stop every now and then. I have out an update about him on YEO, it’s all happening now,

We we’re going out to hand deliver the cards this afternoon but it started to pour with rain, so chickened out, must do it in the morning.

Daisy ,yes some get ahead cooking and a slow cooker chicken casserole for tonight.

It’s been cold here with a freezing wind,Also had rain and hail showers.
We went for a short walk, too cold to go far but we have lots of different routes to choose from of varying lengths so I was able to choose one that suited.

We had just got back when an acquaintance called to tell us he had lost his wife this year.We hadn’t been in contact for quite a while, mainly Christmas cards. I feel bad because I had sent them a card for both of them but was not to know the wife had died. Poor chap got quite tearful talking about her.

I hope all dental visits went well and not much cash had to change hands!

Daisy I hope your cold makes up it’s mind to disappear.

After dinner,we went for a stroll, delivering cards for Mam.. It was chilly, but we thought a stroll would do us more good than going in the car.

Clover - you're so well organised with your cooking, just like Nanto is as well. How sad to hear about your acquaintance's wife after you've sent the card. But you weren't to know. I hope he's ok and has family to cheer him up a bit.

I think we're all making sure we're our glamorous best with our hairdos, and able to gnaw on our turkey legs with our dentist-approved gnashers! My OH escaped without treatment.

I've nearly finished writing Christmas cards today, plus letters for some of them, but my hand is aching now, so I'll do the rest tomorrow.

Enfys - I don't blame you not going out with your cards - it got really cold and wet! OH went to the supermarket and the shelves were nearly empty! He still managed to spend an awful lot of money though.

Nanto - I hope you've had a good sit down for the rest of the day!

Qwerty - glad you're pleased with your hair. It's always a bit worrying when your usual hairdresser isn't there, but poor girl, I bet she was very upset about her Granddad.

Hello Plant, sorry I've not been on for a while. Hope you've not missed me too much😉 As you know life takes it's twists & turns but hopefully I'll be posting again when I can. My sister lives not far from you & she said the roads have been awful. Good to hear you've kept warm & safe.

Got GD today so I'm looking forward to that. Sorry I couldn't make the meet up, but you look as though you had a great day.

It looks like it’s going to be a day where umbrellas are needed if the sound of the rain on the windows and a soggy cat is any indication.

I have lots of washing to do this morning so I could do without the rain.
Apart from that I am not sure what I will do today. We have our Tesco grocery order arriving this morning but my neighbour rang me late last night to inform me that when she went shopping there yesterday evening there were no fresh vegetable left, no apples and all the freezers were empty so don’t have much hope that I will receive all I have ordered. Why do people panic buy when there is bad weather?

Recived 3 lots of bad news yesterday in the space of one hour. SIL rang to say that her OH’s brother is very ill. Hospital can do no more for him so he is home to spend his last few days with his family. My one friend’s FIL was rushed to hospital after collapsing in the street. He has a blood clot in one of his arteries and then my other friend told me that her dad had just passed away. Such a sad time all round at the moment.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

                          Good morning everyone.

Take it easy Oma, I know you are tired and need a restful weekend!
Qwerty I'm sure you look very glamorous! My hair will be trimmed today but it needs colouring, I must find time for that soon!
Nana, there will be plenty more meet ups I'm sure
Mimi, I's so sorry about all the bad news.

Another busy day. Hairdresser due at 9.30, then baby GS all day. It is GD's school Christmas Fair after school today,.After GS's afternoon nap we will go along, and find DD who will be manning a stall.
My mum still hasn't written her Christmas cards but has at least got the parcel she sends to the Isle Of Man ready for me to post, which I am pleased about. I don't fancy the post office queue any nearer to Christmas!

                          Have a good day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Lovely graphics from you early birds. They always bring a smile to my day.

Mimi - I'm sorry to hear all your sad news. There's not a good time to lose a loved one but around Christmas always seems more poignant.

It's damp and dreary here, but not quite so cold.

Oma - your shopping sounds very organised.

Nana - have a lovely day with your GD - stay warm.

My OH went to Sainsbury's yesterday for quite a big shop (we only go every 2-3 weeks) and there were lots of empty shelves! I blamed Sainsbury's usual inefficiency with deliveries to the store - I never thought about people panic buying, but there were very few people shopping. I hope things improve for next week. We haven't even had any snow!

OH and our friend are going to the allotment this morning to scrape off the dead weeds, rotavate if it's not too wet and put black sheeting down to keep the ground a bit drier and discourage new weeds. I'm going to finish the Christmas cards and start wrapping presents - I need to get them hidden before the GSs arrive tomorrow, but I've got the perfect hiding place - the caravan!!

I've just realised we haven't done the bins! Must get off here and do that!

Edit: Gem you posted while I was typing. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't done/finished Christmas cards.

Daisy, when doing my mums weekly shop in Tesco yesterday afternoon it was manic. So busy, you would have thought it was Christmas weekend!!
