I’ve just taken in and unpacked Tesco delivery. My fingers are frozen from trying to fit everything into my two freezers.
I’ve also seem to have made the classic mistake of ordering one single carrot instead of my usual one bag of organic carrotsStill could be worse I suppose!
Now sitting down with a coffee before pressing on with meal prep.I’ll get OH to do the veg.
Extremely cold here and now trying to rain after a heavy frost last night.

Clover, I once ordered 3 bags of pears, instead of 3 pears!

Oma, sorry to hear your sad news.

Clover, 1 carrot is better then no carrots.
We had a roast today, did a pork fillet in the slow cooker.
Made extra roast potatoes,so i cuold put some in the freezer.

Gem, what a little star your GS is.

What a afternoon Appointment was at 2pm , 40 minutes drive to Dental Hospital got there no disabled parking spaces , or normal ones.
So Brian sat in the car while I went to reception to say we were there but couldn't get parked ,

A lovely man on the desk rang security who told us to park in the Motor bike bays and give them our reg number and it would be fine ,
There is a lot of building work going on so lots of spaces taken up with lorry's.

In on time but they were running 30 min's behind ,so by time he was checked then sent to another dept 3 floors below for x ray on his teeth , waited to get them to bring back to Dentist, then wait till his boss came and checked them before they decided on a plan it was 5.15 , Finally came out and hit rush hour traffic , then a broken down car caused delay so we got back about 15 min's ago

Got to go back for treatment on January 15th after they get go ahead from his consultant who we see on Thursday ,

Almost time to set out again to meet up with Qwerty , Gem, &.GJ

Oma shocking how quickly that happened but hopefully she is at peace now. I know you don’t but I will remember her in my prayers if that is OK.

Gem no this was not the private hospital. The private consultant said to have the scan the NHS had already organised as it will come out of my BUPA allowance otherwise and he can get the results anyway. I am supposed to be having a private scan as well but they called me when I was on holiday and haven’t called back but I keep meaning to call them which I will do tomorrow.

Northern ladies have a lovely meet up tomorrow.

Today was soooo cold. Went to town to pick up the food/toiletries from my sites and deliver them. Plant it isn’t the tubes that are a pain in this weather as they run well, it is the coming out of the tube into the cold! So went to Kings Cross site. They had three big boxes plus one box full of plastic carrier bags (shelters are not getting the carrier bags to put things in for their clients since the bag charge). We went to the place where we do the Friday Feed but couldn’t get in so we phoned them and we were in the wrong place so had to detour. Finally found the right place, loads of traffic, thirty minutes for what would be a ten minute journey on normal roads. Then to our site in the East End who disappointingly had very little to offer. I had a feeling that was going to happen so had taken lots of items with me and carrier bags to put in if that was the case. Psychic me. Was a bit cross with the lack of effort if I am honest. Still we found the mission eventually down a side street. It is near the Blind Beggar pub made notorious by the Krays. I think they murdered someone there. On to Westminster site who did us proud with six big boxes of food, a 24 pack of loo rolls from the site cleaning company, loads of plastic bags and a big box of those Lindt gold chocolate bears. I said to the security man “how lovely of someone to do that” and it was him who bought them! He said that he knew it was a food bank but that didn’t mean that children should go without. Sweet. I knew where the food bank was as I have delivered there a couple of times before. They were very impressed with the offering. I left home today at 7.15 and got back at 2.45.

One good thing though. I havent a clue what half the stuff on the dash of my car is about and I was unsure about how to defrost it. My old car used to ice up inside as well as outside which was a pain. A sensible person would have looked at the book but I was not sensible this morning so fiddle faddled around pressing things and finally found the windscreen de-icer. It took a whole two minutes to clear the windscreen, back window, wing mirrors and side windows. Very impressed.

I am going back back to the shelter near Kings Cross tomorrow to see if we can work with them on employment issues in some way. It is right by Euston Station so fairly easy for me to get to although quite a long journey, about one hour forty minutes. I could get to Brum in almost that time from Euston!

After tomorrow things settle down a bit and I think I will probably not have ti go up to town again. Well I hope not.

Now you Northern Ladies - I hope you'll all behave yourselves tomorrow or I'll have to send the Granny's Rest bar manager to keep you in order! On second thoughts he's got a track record of being lead astray so perhaps not! Seriously, have a great time and spare a thought for the rest of us.

Ziz - it was a long day, but you got through it.

Qwerty - you were very organised cooking a meal yesterday for today! I hope you're not too exhausted to enjoy tomorrow. xx

Oma - you must both have been tired and very fed up after all that delay. Sleep well tonight so you're bright eyed and bushy tailed for tomorrow's meet.

Gem - what a lovely day you've got planned for tomorrow.

We've just got back from dog training. OH came tonight because it was too cold to go wood turning. Eva was very good and showed him all the things she's learned since he last came to class.

I've got the hairdressers tomorrow lunch time and then I need to finish off the Christmas shopping!
