Afternoon all, how is everyone, had any snow yet? It’s dry here but getting colder and windy.

I have spent part of this morning writing Christmas cards , still got lots more to do.


What I must concentrate on now is preparing myself for tonight’s girls night out . It’s our Christmas get together and I don’t think my current look will do frankly.

Well I got my ironing done,sorted some clothes out,prepared our meal for tonight including making pancakes with left over batter from last night's toad in the hole. I know they're better freshly cooked but a quick zap in the micro.and they're ready/ Lemon and sugar to accompany. I also made a shopping list for tomorrow. DS has given an invitation to his partner and her Mum to come to tea on the 23rd so I've got to factor that meal in too.
Oh yes I finished my contribution to the Christmas Story Challenge and posted it.
A walk in the gloomy afternoon was also on the agenda,so I'm having 5 minutes to myself before starting again.

Afternoon all just coming round from hectic day yesterday, had twins and then took them to eldest g/d nativity play, so we each had one balanced on our knees eating grapes and trying to video.asked them if they enjoyed it and they said NO when asked why J said it was too loud and M just looked traumatised lol but they all did so well . Then got home for tea with DS picking the kids up as dil on Xmas meal so he had to tea with us, so cleaning today OH cleaned all the bedroom windows inside and out upstairs only well it takes his mind off things, ironed, and cleaned 2 bathrooms so keeping Cleaning Freaks end up Oma not being with us gallivanting off and B in his leather shorts slapping their thighs .

Mighty cold here hope you are all keeping warm a little snow forecast, I am going xmas shopping with Dd tomorrow to Sheffield 🤨

Qwerty I'm glad you manged to see GD's play despite two small children on your knee! You are a Super Grandma!

We managed with mums carpet. I say we - OH did all the hard work, but I helped her take up the carpet and I got rid of her totally disintegrated underlay to the bin. Mum had laid this carpet herself, many years ago, so it was hard job for OH getting all the tacks out. It is all done now though, mum is pleased and wants to take us out to tea tomorrow, and I had a lovely lunch with my friend.

Husband fell out of bed last night about 3am. Sorry but I did laugh. He has a bruised shoulder but otherwise is fine. I gave him a roll of string earlier. He looked confused until I told him it was so we could tie him into the bed tonight so he doesn’t fall out!

we went to into our local town on Monday, I think I mentioned. We have ordered some whackingly expensive wardrobes for the bedroom (I did say that with my news in YEO we maybe should cancel using the cooling off period but he says no), Monday we saw in Next a very nice white chest of drawers and bedside tables. We have decided he will go back tomorrow and check dimensions and that if it is the right size he will order the drawers. He will pay on his Barclaycard as he hasn’t used it for ages, it has no balance on it but if you don’t use them every now and then the finance companies cancel them apparently. I will pay the spend off next week. The bedside tables are £199 so we have decided to strip and paint our existing ones which are very well made and apart from not matching the new furniture are fine. We will have to get rid of our enormous pine chest of drawers - when I say enormous I am speaking the truth! It is also a strong and well made piece of furniture so I will offer it to charity once the bedroom is done.

I have a 1-2-1 wth my line manager tomorrow morning which might be difficult as I have to point out that being paid for four days whilst cramming five days work in is not working. She is not going to like my proposals .......

Nan2 I know I should be ashamed of myself but there was this sudden thump, this rude swear word and I said sleepily “are you OK?” He said “I just fell out of bruddy bed, I thought I was chasing a turkey”. Well what can you do but laugh (after you have made sure he is OK of course)

Well we didn’t have turkey for dinner tonight Clover so unless he has found somewhere to hide it yes it got away! I am sure this dream was all to do with a conversation a couple of days ago about the menu at the hotel we are going to. I am not overly fond of turkey and we had a discussion about my mother who used to put the turkey in the oven about five pm Christmas Eve and how I should at least try it when it is done properly by a chef. He does have a bruise and says it is sore so I a) reminded him he is a big strong bloke b) I still have the ball of string and c) it is usually me with the bruises so he is “sharing my pain”. I hasten to add that I bruise very easily, just a slight knock will give me a bruise......
