We are finally home. We went into Debenhams , no suits just sports jackets and trousers. Moss Bros had some really nice suits but none of them quite fitted properly and paying £200 or thereabouts for a suit and then being told it will be £110 for alterations is taking the Michael. Marks and Sparks only had one jacket that fitted and that was a sports jacket and very thick material. We went into Top Man and even Matalan and he started getting exceptionally grumpy so I called a halt! We did take back the chair legs which were delivered wrong to Next and looked for a sideboard for the bedroom which was a hefty £500. I said we should wait until after Christmas and maybe it will be in the sale. I bought trousers and tops for both Ben and Joe and sequinned leggings and sparkly horsey tee shirt for the princess. Came home, picked up the stuff for the ironing fairy, went off to deliver it and collect children. I havent seen Joe for five weeks and although I thought the age 13 trousers would be OK he has grown to seventy two feet tall and I tell you they will not fit! Good job I got a gift return thing. Spoke to his mum and explained I could go back if she wanted me to but she said she would do it when they get back from Florida. He is not in boys clothes anymore.

In the restaurant I told them they could only have something if it only cost 50 pence 😋. These children are so sophisticated these days. Ms S informed the waiter that she wanted mozzarella in breadcrumbs and lots of the sauce followed by a pasta dish but not with tagliatelle as on the menu but could she please have penne pasta and please could he make sure that it does not ome into contact with curry as she is allergic oh and she NEEDED cheese please. 7 going on 37. Joe had the biggest pizza I have ever seen (and finished it), Ben had an enormous starter of meatballs followed by bolognaise but an adult portion and they all had adult sized desserts. Along with our meals and a tip plus drinks we were just shy of £114!

The main reason for going to town was a total failure and at least a third of the clothes I bought for the kids is a failure. Oh well. I tried. So with dinner, clothes and pocket money I may have to remortgage.......

Good evening ladies! What a day!

DS and DIL had to take gD2 in to work with them, because I had no chance of getting to their house before they needed to leave it. She looked very poorly and after a bit of discussion her mum phoned the surgery, but there were no appointments! The doctor phone back and miraculously found her an appointment 20 minutes later - it was 10 am by then. Both ear drums are pink and inflamed and she has
got a course of Amoxicillin. Poor lamb is very tearful, off her food and just wanted to be cuddled on the sofa. So we got back to their house, she put her PJs on and I ticked her up in her duvet and we watched the Trolls movie, followed by Moana. She managed some scrambled egg for lunch, but basically she just cried and whimpered all day, and nothing I could do seemed to help. I'm exhausted, but I just hope she sleeps tonight as her mum was up with her on and off all last night and she is worn out, too. Plus, of course they are looking after a very young puppy as well!

I really needed to bring her to our house tomorrow as I wanted to prep food etc for our visitors on Wednesday, but I don't think she'll be well enough. So now I have the dilemma of what to do for lunch on wed that I can do very quickly Wed morning. I was going to do baked gammon tomorrow and serve it cold on Wed with salad. Tonight after I got home I made a sponge cake and pastry ready for mincepies while I was getting our dinner.

To add to the frustration, our internet connection tonight is total rubbish and I keep losing things! Grrrrr .....

Sorry I haven't commented on anyone else's day - I think the internet has it in for me tonight.

Oma I have a Debenhams credit card and it was 30% off to plus extra 10% for cardholders. It all gets paid off the following month so it doesn’t accrue interest. So my shop for six items was greatly reduced but yes you are right, blink and they have grown. Ms S just realised today that grandad does not drive. As we were walking toward the car she asked why I always drove and not grandad. I explained he has poorly eyes and the mini font of all knowledge announced loudly to the other two children that “obviously” grandad doesn’t drive because he is dangerous. Joe told her that he knew that ages ago and that is wth he holds grandads arm when they go in dark rides at Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park. Ben just shrugged and said he knew that too. I didn’t tell either of them, I think Joe in particular just picked up on it.

I did have to drive in the dark, where they live the shortest way home is the London suburb version of country roads and very dark. I went the long way rioun which is fully lit up but added fifteen minutes to the journey but it doesn’t matter, I felt better.

Daisy our contributions crossed! It is disgraceful that they cannot fit a sick child in. I hope she is soon better.

Daisy, i hope the little one will start to feel better, now she has got antibiotics.

The kids do grow so quickly, now Rosie will say I'm taller than you Nannan.

ZIZI, it's surprising what the kids notice, without saying anything.

                    Good morning everyone,

Poor GD2 Daisy, I hope she is soon feeling better now she has the antibiotics. My GS 1 suffered with a lot of ear infections when he was younger. Very painful and they feel poorly. I hope she is well enough to come to your house today.
                    Expensive night Zizi!
Love the Christmas cups Nan2! Sorry to hear you had a poor night again.

We had a fun time at the quiz last night, but didn't win.
GS1 day. On the way to collect him I am calling to see a friend for coffee as she lives sort of on the route and ever since she moved, some time ago, I have promised to call in!
I will leave it to GS as to whether we come back here or stay there. My winter preference is here as I don't have to do the dark country road driving in the dark, but we shall see..

Have a good day everyone. I hope the tired ones, under the weather ones, down in the dumps ones, and those with worries about family members , feel better and have a good day.

Edited to say fingers crossed for the blood test results Oma!

You are right,no point in going away and not having a little treat.
                      Go easy on the gluhwein.

Just been to the post office and it's nithering out there.

Hope your little one feels better soon Daisy, she must be feeling rotten.

My SIL went to buy a suit recently in the House of Fraser, found it very difficult, where are the shops that specialise in mens clothes, the young assistant, bless him, was useless.

                          What a lovely word, nithering.

I am feeling very tired after my trip to Birmingham, I intend to write a journal later.

We came home from the quiz last night, to a note posted though our door from next door neighbours, saying their cat was locked in our garage - again! He had to wait until 11.30 when we got in, read the note, went out to the garage and released him!

Well Sugar level was better but not great
7,7 down from 8.9 though so a fair bit down
My new meds were only half strength and as its brought it down she upped it to full strength
I have to watch for Hypos as it will force my body to produce insulin and may be too much for me.
In Emergency I must either drink a little bottle of Lucozade or 5 Jelly babies and a sandwich to up my sugar and balance me out ,

She said it proves its not food related but my body just not producing enough insulin , Having said that when we get back home I'm still going to watch my intake carefully ,
Been warned not to skip a meal even if I don't feel hungry

another test in February . no chance of getting my fingers done for quite a while this is more important and guide lines now are unless its a emergency operation they wont do the op if level is not 6 or under as its harder for the body to recover ,
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Well, it's better news at least Oma. I think you are wise to watch your intake a little, and especially not skip meals. I'm sorry this means putting your op on hold for longer though
