Enfys, nice to hear hubby is feeling better.

    No snow here YET.

Daisy,no i haven't changed anything, that could/would stop me from sleeping.
Just been up to the chemist and had a word with pharmacist.
He asked me if i had changed my routine, or if i had something on my mind.
Told him no to both questions.Bought something that he recommended me to try.
You can only take them for 7 days, but he suggested i just take half a tablet.
Will see how i go tonight.

Evening busy folk I am over the edge this trimming lark for some reason this year has been no fun, it’s been really hard work , OH says I do too much so next year my house will look like something out of Ideal Homes minimalistic and chic, not this malarkey
Apart from that I’m fine lol , no snow here it is forecast for Sunday and we are going to eldest g/d Carol service where she is singing but it’s 5 mls away so not sure we will make it but if it so bad they would cancel it anyway, Dd is on her own otherwise as Sil is working in Portugal from. next Sunday until the 22nd so xmas is left to her to organise
Gem hope all goes well tonight will be thinking of you with youngest as we know T will be no bother I am sure
Nan2 what’s going on with this sleeping or lack of sleeping, something on your mind ? sometimes we get into a routine of not sleeping and can’t get out of it, do you remember Phenergan a bit like Calpol we used it a lot lol they now do it for adults it’s not habit forming but might get you back into a routine
Daisy hope you had an eventful day at home tying up those lose ends it’s what you need busy lady
Enfys I think it’s lovely when a man wants to go shopping don’t knock it 😀
Clover I got my last present delivered today so sorted, just have to pick up a duvet from Dunelm well it’s what DD wanted !
DS is out with 2 cousins tonight to see Marrilion remember them they called the singer Fish 🙄 he bought one of the cousins a ticket back in April for her 50th should be a good night

Enfys - we had about 30 seconds of sleety stuff then a bit of rain.

Qwerty - we're going to cut back on sone of the decorations this year. It's a lot of work and I always do something to damage the paintwork, so we're going for the easiest options this year. Your poor DD with your SIL being in Portugal. I used to hate it when my OH was away just before Christmas leaving me with everything to do, in addition to my own full-time job!

Gem - I hope all is going well this evening.

Nanto - I do hope the pharmacists magic pills help you get a good night's sleep to get you back into the 'sleep routine'. You must be shattered.

Plant - the members at the wood turning club are lovely - I don't think they deserve a trifle crafted by my OH!!

Mimi - don't get snowed in. I hope you've changed out of that flimsy dress you went out in last night!

I've had a pretty lazy day! I fell asleep sitting down for a coffee late morning. Roused myself enough to wash up all the things I had left during the week and whizzed round with the sucky uppy thingy. Sat down after lunch and fell asleep again! I was right about the TV tonight - nothing I want to watch at all, so I'll get some tea and then exercise the plastic in the name of Christmas.

Q when I was younger I knew Fish. A friend of ours, Micky Simmonds, was his keyboard player. We used to go to a lot of his gigs and after parties and one NYE we all got uproarisly drunk in Leicester Square. We were celebrating something other than NYE but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was! I have not seen either person for a long time. Last saw Micky about 20 years ago I think. I actually didn’t realise Marillion were still going.

Iv'e got something called Seminax, but he suggested just taking hlf a tablet.
Don't know what the problem is Qwerty, i haven't got anything on my mind at all.

Very cold here, but no snow.i think they have forecast it for Sunday for us.

I think phenergen is an antishistamine, can be used for travel sickness too, not sure if it is still sold? I remember parents giving it to help children sleep.

Z my DS knows him a little he went to see him in London but lost his ticket, as he was wondering what to do Fish came out for a smoke and chatted to the lads, when DS told him what had ha

Gem they have just started advertising Phenergan for adults on tv that’s how I found out about it 😀

I thought phenergan was a sedative. My son was prescribed it when he had whooping cough when he was three. Certainly sent him off to a deep sleep although I don’t think I would give it to a child these days!

I think we used to use Phenergan as a mild pain reliever when the children were little. Unfortunately it didn't work for DS1 when he was travel sick though!

Good morning all, it’s extremely cold outside today. The snow we had yesterday disappeared but it has left lots of ice , the cars in the street look they have been stored in a deep freezer. Take care if you have to go out about this morning. Apparently tomorrow a lot of snow is forecast for this area.

Phenergan was given to my DD when she was about 8. She had (has) so many allergies and at one stage her eczema was so bad it was making sleeping impossible she was given it to try and ease the itching and help her go off to sleep. I don’t seem to remember it working all that well.

Nan2 how did you sleep. I had a dreadful night but nothing unusual there though. I have my sleeping tablets the dr gave me if things get too bad but I don’t take them unless I have gone two complete days without any sleep.

Yesterday I wrote out the last of the Christmas cards and then went out and posted them . I have just the neighbours and friends to post by hand . I will do this when all this freezing weather has gone as it’s impossible to get down the hill at the moment without falling over ! We had our first Christmas card delivered yesterday.

Have a a lovely day today whatever your plans are
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning you early birds - and everyone else!

Yes, we've got frost, too, but the sun is just rising so it sounds a lot worse elsewhere.

Nanto - wrap up warm and enjoy your Christmas market.

Mimi - if this sleeplessness carries on I'll have to come and sing you a lullaby - you'd go to sleep just to escape the noise.

Quite a busy day for us - we need a bit of shopping from the village - hoping OH will do that - and then our allotment partner is coming over this afternoon for a planning session for next season, then tonight some friends are coming round for a meal. They are having an extension built on their kitchen and have been without cooking facilities for weeks, so it will be a change from ready meals in the microwave. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.

                              Whatever you're doing, stay warm.

Cold and frosty this morning but sunny. I have a friend coming round this morning - we are making plans to go to the Hand Made Fair (Kirsty Allsopp) in June so need to decide what we want to do. If we book before 15th December we get a discount, I’m really looking forward to it, have wanted to go for ages. Next year they have different venues, instead of only at Hampton Court so we are going to the one at Bowood House in Wiltshire, Much easier for us to get there.

Otherwise no plans for the weekend, it’s forecast to be very cold so I think we’ll be staying in and keeping cosy. 🔥
