Glamma, what a pain about your broadband problems.

    Nice suite Oma

My contribution to the party (apart from babysitting tonight!) was making chocolate rice krispie cakes. Those are made and staying in the fridge until we leave. We are picking up some baby food pouches on our way. Keeping fingers crossed for GD getting there and being fine.

I have just received a message from my DIL1, when GD1 was born and DS1 was away a lot she started a study, this was over a few years, with 2 young children and DS1 she managed to pass all the exams with top marks, translated she is a Judge in tax law. There are going to be new tax laws here and for the last 6 months she has been going to a course one day a week, she had to go to Amstelveen today to sit the exams, she has passed!!! I am so pleased for her.

Plant, pleased you had a good laugh at the NT Talk.

We didn't go to Wakefield,we went to Sheffield instead. Been a while since we went there.
Didn't shop for anything in particular, but bought a few bits.

Lizzie, well done to your DIL!

Such a hot day here! We were in shade in DD's garden but it was still very hot. Baby is eating a bit more today and certainly happy enough. Very stuffy nose so either a cold or tooth coming.
We had a lovely afternoon. GD came and managed well, especially as there were many people she didn't know. She was struggling a bit towards the end but most of us were leaving anyway.
Baby almost fell asleep on the drive here ( I sat in the back and kept him awake!)
He then had second wind was very lively and not ready for sleep. I gave him a bath and eventually he settled. He's having trouble breathing through his nose so I don't know what sort of night I'm in for!

                    Night all

Good to hear GD managed to stay so long it must have taken some effort for her to do so .
Hope you are not up too many times with GS being hot and stuffy and not being able to breath through his nose will maybe lead to a restless night .

I have tried sleeping but I'm too hot, had a cool shower before bed but im just as sticky and hot as i was so didnt really help .

Gem, pleased the baby seemed a bit happier yesterday.
                        GD did very well,bless her.

I've put a small beef joint in the slow cooker. not doing a big dinner though.
I think we'll just have some mash with it and peas and sweetcorn.

                          Good sunny Sunday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, very big congratulations to your DIL. It's not easy studying part-time with children and a home to run as well, and she has done really well.

Nanto, it's nice to have a change of scenery. Was it very busy in Sheffield?

Gem, well done to your GD for getting to the party and coping with so many people. I hope the 'successes' like this will bolster her confidence a bit. xx. Did you have a good night, or was GS3 restless? I hope he's breathing easier today, poor little lamb.

Oma, your new chair and sofa look very inviting! I'm sure I'd never want to get up again. Are you pleased with them?

I think DS1 and family are coming early today - if they don't they're likely to be in one long traffic jam as everyone heads for the coast. The downside of us living in a place everyone wants to visit! I got quite a lot of prep done yesterday, so just off for a shower and then get breakfast. I think we'll have more problems keeping cool than worrying about rain for the barbecue!

We have thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon.
Sheffield was quite busy,i think the weather brought everyone out.

                              Morning ladies
I went back to bed about 4.30 but tossed and turned gave up at 6 ,
Stripped the bed as although the bedding was fresh on on Wednesday we both sweated so much I thought it best to wash them again
The cool shower before bed didn’t help .

B off for a Bone density scan at 9 at least this early on a Sunday morning there will be no traffic .

                              Daisy
I hope it’s not too hot in the garden today , around our beaches is the same with traffic on hot days, everyone is travelling too it .

Yes pleased with the 3 piece , I’ve had similar before this one’s a bit different that the arm chairs recline have adjustable head rests and USB charger ports in the side , it’s a bit stiff being new but it will soon soften and wrinkle down 😁

                              Nanto
Its too stuffy to faff on with a big meal isn’t it , a Joint in the slow cooker is much easier and no hot oven to contend with ,
I love our slow cooker ,between that and the Ninja our oven rarely gets used .

                              Gem
I hope you had a reasonable night with baby xx

All the bedding out they should dry quickly , it’s forecast thunderstorms later in the day , it said that yesterday and they didn’t appear.

We are going to a fun day at The Horses Trust, where GD works, later. GD is working there today so DD, Sil and I are taking H. I hope we find some shade.

Gemini, this hot weather is not easy for babies. I hope he is not going down with a cold. I hope GD enjoyed herself at the family gathering although she probably didn’t look forward to it.

Daisy, living where we do, we don’t get holiday traffic, although our roads are very busy. Have a lovely day with the family.,

Oma, Sorry to hear you had a bad night, I was very hot in the night but managed to sleep between loo visits. Those chairs look very inviting for a Nana nap.

Nanto, love the graphic. Was Sheffield busy and hot?
