Oma, you'd think the fireplace had been quarried out of the ground. It does look good. Your garden looks very pretty with all the colourful pots and the painted fences etc.
Lizzie, those men have got a good head for heights! Will they have a traditional German topping off ceremony when it's done?
Gem, I've commented on YEO. xx
This morning went to pot. (I'll write about it on Eva's thread - New Member of the Family). I gave up trying to sweep the patio - it was too windy! Training didn't go well either, so I hope tomorrow is more productive.

Good morning, your garden is looking good Oma.
Daisy, the roof isn't finished yet, DS2 has been there for 3 days, returned home last night, now the second group of friends are there to finish the roof, they have all been friends for years, cyclists etc and DS2 worked with the owner for a long time, that is where he learned so much about building etc.
I want to go to the market in Delft early for cheese etc.

Good morning to all!
Hot and sunny here.
I hope you enjoyed your busy day Plant.
Nan2, not would I be on that roof, even 30 years ago!
Baby GS3 will be arriving for the day soon.
OH heading for the golf course, a lot drier day than she last played!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Morning Ladies
Nanto I would love those fresh eggs the chicken has laid 😁
Lizzie
Got to have a head for heights to do a roof , I wouldn’t get further than a few rungs up the ladder.
Daisy
B made the fire surrounds years ago with MDF and we sprayed it with the stone effect after seeing the same one in a shop for a couple hundred pounds , he also put spotlights under the top.
Been to Aldi for it opening , going to Dunelm shortly need new cushion pads , I washed my cushions yesterday and the inserts are looking a bit worse for wear .
We getting our new3 piece suite on Saturday , SIL took our sofa yesterday to put in their conservatory, GS taking it for his flat ,
We have advertised the chairs for free , so far 4 no shows , why people can’t just text and say they not coming or changed their minds .
If they do go in next few days we will be sitting on garden loungers till Saturday .
If they don’t I can squeeze them into my dinning room and I will just book a slot for the council refuge .
Phoned several charities this week no body replied yet .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good work Lizzie is it for you or GD ?
We popped to Dunelm and next door is a Salvation Army charity shop opened it’s huge.
So I went in and asked if they wanted the chairs , showed them a picture and they coming to pick them up on Tuesday so that’s that problem solved 😁Im not fat just 6ft too small

Lizzie, very professional looking!
Oma that's good. They are a good charity, close to my mum's heart.
It's so annoying and rude when people say they will come for things then don't.

Oma, for GD2, I have sent her a photo and she approves!!!
A good thing getting rid of the chairs like that, it is the same here at the moment.
Oma, when DS2 lived in Rotterdam he had 3 (high) floors, I was there one day and he had a scaffolding and was painting the top floor!! DIL and myself escaped into town so that we hadn't to watch him.

Good Thursday morning, everyone.
We have some very early birds today. But the temperature is already climbing, so they are also the wise ones. x
Gem, I hope you have a lovely day with GS3. How is he coping with the heat?
Lizzie, you wizzed that doorstop up so quickly! It does look very professional and I'm sure GD2 will be very pleased. What are your favourite cheeses? Your DS2 was sensible using scaffolding to paint that high up.
Oma, one of my pet hates is "no shows" when you're offering something on Freecycle, especially if you've stayed in all day waiting for them! I'm glad the Salvation Army are taking your chairs as I bet they are immaculate and someone will think it's their lucky day when they get them. When you said you'd washed the inserts of your cushions I read it as "insects"! Glad I re-read it to check!!
Nanto, you can't beat fresh, farm-laid eggs can you!
I took Eva out at 7.30 for a good walk in the Forest, got home about 9 o'clock and am just having a very quick break from gardening. I need to sweep the patio and then OH will pressure wash it.

Daisy, sadly I love all cheeses, I am not keen on the young ones, the mature ones are the tastiest!
I think there is a law here that when going above a certain hight that scaffolding is needed. I know he had one at the new house and it isn't high, he often works with decorators so knows all the "ins and outs"!

Lizzie, I love cheese too much too!
Good idea for you and Eva to get out early Daisy. Baby seems to be OK in the heat, we dress him in very little! His highchair is ready in the shade on the patio when he wakes for his lunch.
I made an appointment to see someone privately about my knee. It's on July 4th. They will want more X rays as its several years since I had one, but this will be the initial consultation.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I love cheese and since my OH died I don’t buy cheese, apart from grated. I do love Brie and Stilton.
Gemini, good luck with the private appt. About your knee. No fun for you being in such pain.
I had an appt. With my doctor this morning about my swelling, blue foot, since I had the blood clot. All the test were fine but she wants me to have a Doppler exam to see how much damage the clot caused. I think I have that right but my mind seems to go blank when doctors are talking to me in medical terms. I have to keep my leg up as much as poss. The doctor was quite alarmed when she saw my feet and legs as my psoriasis is really bad. The doctor told me to get the sun on my body as much as possible, I do wear trousers all the time and I like to keep busy. I have ordered some shorts, strictly for the garden and must warn the neighbours. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
