Glamma my friend saw Elton John perform in Leeds a couple of weeks ago and said he was amazing. I think he's hopefully just looking a bit tired at the end of a tour (and 76 )

How lovely to have an old friend coming Plant. My friend M and I have been friends since toddler group days.

This morning's meeting went well and was brief.
My car is all serviced and with fully working air con again
While we were out we called into 2 of the charity shops in our village. The local hospice one and Cats Protection. We were dropping off clothes of my mum's which were in very good condition. I have one pair of silky M&S pjs never worn with labels still on and a lovely needlecord Cotton Traders blouse unworn but no labels which I haven't given away. I intend to sell both those.

No more rain so far its sunny and windy this afternoon

Plant, everyone must have worked hard to have so many visitors to the Horse Show - I hope the charity has done well. Oh dear, I bet you missed that pushchair though. Did you have a good lunch at the Village Hall? Was it a special occasion or a regular event? I actually laughed out loud when you said you don't spoil your GSs!! But I guess we're all guilty of the same thing. . What are you doing for lunch with your friend tomorrow?

Glamm, I'm glad your broadband is ok now, and it was a general fault not just your connection or laptop. I thought Elton John didn't look well last night, and he seemed to find it difficult walking, but as Gem says, perhaps he's just tired. Unlike a lot of "old rockers" he's still got a great voice and I love that he still accompanies himself and his band have been with him forever! Fro what you say about his dad, the must have been very different from each other. I missed the Fort Perch Rock shots.

Gem, it must be a relief to have the air con working again while the weather is so warm. It can be hard to know what to do with good clothes like your mum's. I'm sure both charity shops were glad of what you gave them. How is baby E today?

Nanto, it's been mostly cloudy here today. We had about 3 spots of rain just after I'd hung out the second load of washing, but I just left them and they dried very quickly.

I've had quite a productive day - four or five loads of washing done and dried - not ironed of course! Plenty of cleaning and tidying up after yesterday.

Good morning. Looking a bit iffy this morning.

Plant, sounds like the horse show was a good day out, pity about the pushchair.

Shopping being delivered between 8 and 9.

Not a lot to do today, just tidy up and do the ironing.

Sis in law and hubby coming later this morning.

Dinner is cod in breadcrumbs, new potatoes, cabbage, carrots and parsley sauce.

Good morning everyone, still HOT here with rain forecast for tomorrow.

I have just phoned the housing about my visitor, they will get in touch with her support team and get the balcony done with net or whatever, my damage, I doubt if she is insured but will hear more.

My DS1 and DIL went to see Elton John last year in Amsterdam, they enjoyed it, I have never been a fan really, I like some of his songs but can't call myself a fan. At the moment I am not a fan of anyone!!!!! That is how I feel, annoyed with the world!

We went to the pool yesterday, a few of us got the young man a plant as he was leaving us, not really leaving the pool, he is being promoted to the management team.

I will catch up on more news later on.

Good morning Nan2, Lizzie and ladies.

Lizzie, I'm sure the heat is getting to you. I'm sure I would be annoyed with your condition.

We watched, and loved the Glastonbury concert last night Poor Elton is obviously having some mobility problems. Sitting at the piano for long stretches doesn't help stiffness does it?! He must be shattered after his tour. His voice is still amazing though.
I have seen him perform twice live. He is the ultimate professional and gives performances his all. He had no support singers or bands, just him, both times. Apart from the interval, he was on stage and singing the whole time. He would go to the side every so often for a swig of water and mop of his brow with a towel, then carry on.

Library this morning and GS1 from school this afternoon. OH golfing. A day of sunshine and showers here I think, but not many sunny bits.

Lizzie, I hope you get some satisfaction from the housing, you don’t want that to happen again. That is kind of you and your friends to get the young man a present.

Daisy, the lunches are served once a month, you have to book, the manager of the hall and her helpers arrange them. They cater for about 50 elderly people. They are more or less the same group that arrange the board games. The money we pay goes to a charity after a year. Emma is an amazing manager of the village hall, she has started so many activities in the hall but has a lot of support from her OH and others. We also have village care, we can phone and ask for help and they provide lifts to hospital etc. I am so very lucky to live in such a friendly village. I am picking up my friend about 11.30, I have bought a Quiche from M&S and some salad.

Nanto, enjoy your visit from your Sil and hubby.

                      Gem
What a picture that is absolutely gorgeous, not many times with babies you can get the perfect shot is it ❤️

                      Lizzie
We all have days like that I’m sure you will rally at some point and get back to yourself ,
You are entitled to feel yuk and out of sorts sometimes and as Gem said the heat doesn’t help xx

                      Plant
That must have been hard going without the pushchair and little legs get tired very easy just like Grandmas 😁

                      Daisy
All well and good doing all that washing but then you have to iron it , one job I don’t envy you doing .

                      Nanto
Rather be having your tea than ours B making lamb Koftas not my favourite.

I must admit I’m not a big fan of Elton , ido like some of his songs and he did look stiff and tired at Glastonbury but didn’t he have hip surgery not so long ago or am I imagining that ?

B got a slot at the tip booked for 10 ,
I have to wait for Salvation Army picking the chairs up , could be anytime today so just have to wait ,

I was going to give the floors a hand wash today after the chairs go but I was up for quite a while last night my right hip was painful to lie on and ached .
No idea why not like I’ve done anything strenuous,
Oh well another moan to add to the list 😁

                      Damp but so stuffy here

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. It's a bit cooler this morning, but warming up nicely now.

I took Eva out first thing and it was very pleasant.

Lizzie, everything's got on top of you at the moment, hasn't it. You must be so fed up with the hot weather, and then the cat episode with no apology from your neighbour. I hope the rain tomorrow brings the temperature down for you. I'm sure the young man at the pool was delighted with his leaving gift, but at least he will still be around to say 'hello' to sometimes. Sending hugs. xx

Gem, what an absolutely gorgeous photo. xxx. Hopefully S won't get drenched on the golf course, or be too hot. Is the library being well-used?

Plant, there is a group of ladies who do monthly lunches in the church hall here. The lady who organises it has been doing so for nearly 40 years! They often joke they are older than many of their guests. But it's a lovely chance to get together and enjoy a nice meal, isn't it. Enjoy lunch with your friend - it sounds delicious for a summery meal.

Oma, I'm glad you thought twice about hand washing the floors if y our hip is painful. With that and the weather you should be having a lazy day! It will be nice to get the house back to normal when your old furniture has gone.

Nanto, you can get some interesting substitutions can't you! Your garden is probably glad of some rain, even if it's not much. Are. your SIS and her OH coming for a meal, or just coffee?

I've still got a couple of loads of washing to do, but several things need spot treating first - OH manages to get his scruffy clothes very grubby when he's doing jobs and I don't know why I bother, but I do! After that, I can go and do a bit of pottering in the garden - deadheading etc.

I do the same with Bs scruffy clothes , he has work dungarees but still manages to get the clothes under full of all sorts

Plant, I've PM'd you two messages. (Sorry!)

Oma, it's cloudy here and the wind's cooler, but the odd patch of sun is lovely. How on earth do these handymen get into such a mess. OH only wears dungarees for painting or doing anything unspeakably oily with a car/machinery etc. He does wear a proper safety coat for woodturning and full protective gear when he's wielding the chainsaw! There was one top today which had black rings and scuff marks all over it. He's no idea what it is! I'm hoping the greasy barbecue splash marks on a pair of linen trousers have come out. I must get him a barbecue apron.

Thanks everyone, just one of those mornings Daisy!!! I can understand the neighbour not apologising as that is how she is, I get on fine with her, I am used to how she is, I told the young girl at the housing that as well, I told her it was not personal, she just can't cope with anything at all, never mind a cat, they got her it to keep the mice away, that is another long story!!! I did hear from the friend next door that one of her therapists was there this morning so the housing must have been in touch.

Gem, what a cute photo, children love those places.

GD1 had an interview for a work at the new Lidl in their village, it was at another Lidl in yet another village, I told her I would take her, I didn't hear anything then at 12-30 I got a message saying yes!!! Off I go, GD2 came with us, I knew where the Lidl was as before we got them in the village I used to go there, the girls were too young for them to remember though. GD1 got the job so we were all pleased about that, she starts at the large Lidl here in the village in August to get worked in then the new one opens in September, it is very close to where they live so handy for her. To celebrate I treated them to an ice cream from the Mcdonalds , then had a look around the second hand place, I mentioned I fancied a chicken leg for tea, they both looked at me and asked if I would get them some and take then on the bike!!! I told them once I was home I was home, I was shattered, I did tell them I would drive them back here, they could get their chicken then I would take them home again, which I did, who mentioned spoiling them??????

I have just had mine, I do like one now and again.

I have them both here for a few nights next week, I say nights as they have all kind of things planned during the days. GD1 is working in the peppers until she starts at the Lidl.
