Theres always jobs you just must do before you go isn’t there , even though it’s only a few days and they could wait you just have todo them 😁

B started on the fencing today and so far it’s looking good ,
Its too hot to do too much in one go plus he can’t do things like he used to.
There’s no rush a bit each day slow and steady .

Its cooler in our bedroom so I did the ironing and everything is put away
very Quiet around here not much traffic either , everyone must be staying in the shade or gone to the beach 😁

DD and GS1 are in Liverpool for a short break, back tonight. DD's friend was to go over and move the guinea pigs from their hutch to the run today. Friend had forgotten she has no car today so mum to the rescue! I had to wait for Tesco to come and get the chilled and freezer stuff away then drive over to see to the little rodents.
Then I came home, sat on my sunlounger with an ice lolly!

We didn't go to SIS in laws,they have all got D&V.
Sounds like its gone through the family like a dose of salts.

We popped up to Iceland and stocked up on pizzas.
Oh and ice creams as well.

I've read all our today's news, but forgive me for not commenting - it's late and past my bedtime!

The canal trip was lovely, although very hot. The friends we went with and I walked along the towpath between the two locks on the return trip - OH was too relaxed watching the world float gently by! It was a 60+ mile car journey each way so quite late by the time we'd picked Eva up and got back home. Then we invited our friends in for a drink and we sat in the garden until it was virtually dark having a drink and nibbles. Then I needed to order something - but the website was playing up and it took an hour to do what I wanted. Another early start tomorrow, so I'm more than ready for my Ovaltine and bed.

Morning all.

Our weekend away went very well albeit a little on the warm side!
We did the usual site seeing and the trip on an open top site seeing double decker bus was a wonderful way of cooling down, all that breeze was most welcome but with the added bonus of a discount on the price because we had our bus passes

We did watch the punts on the river and for a fleeting moment we did consider going on one until reality sunk in and we knew that four pensioners struggling to get off those flat bottom doors would be very embarrassing for us and amusing for all the young University students that were on the river side.
Can't say I'm not sorry to be back in my own bed. The one in our room was extremely uncomfortable and having a shower in a cubicle seemed strange as we are used to having a wet room.
But we all enjoyed our weekend away, it was lovely celebrating our 'collective ' wedding anniversaries together.

We had some lovely gifts, eldest DS gave us an engraved sun dial to put in our garden. Amongst our gifts was , chocolate truffles, photo frames and gin glasses. DIL message me to keep next Saturday free so I don't know exactly what's happening but I'm sure it will be lovely.

Daisy we love a canal trip over the years we have done a few, just travelling by at a leisurely pace is so relaxing.

Oma we love a lasagne, I have to admit I no longer make my own. Its either have one when we are eating out or buy a ready made one.

Ive taken chicken out of the freezer maybe do that with a jar of BBQ sauce and some Jerseys .

Our Hotel bed was so comfy but the pillows were a bit too soft .
Nothing like your own bed and pillows is there ,
Its nice to go away but nice to come home to a familiar bed and clean crisp sheets .

We have a slot at the tip booked this morning get rid of the rubbish and the little shed B knocked down behind the big shed ,
he needs it all gone before he can start on that side of the fence .

Up early so I’ve had a good clean through and the bedrooms so nothing left to do all washing and ironing done ,
Im feeling very smug with myself 😁

Nanto, aren't one-pot meals a blessing! Easy to serve, less clearing up and tasty, too.

Mimi, what a lovely week-end you had. I think it was wise to give the punts a miss - they never look very stable, do they! You have lovely family and friends, what beautiful gifts they gave you. I wonder what the surprise is on Saturday. I can never decide which I miss the most when I'm away - our own bed or our very efficient shower!

It was relaxing on the canal. We've done that same trip a few years ago and enjoyed it. It's many years since we had a boating holiday as such, but it was great fun and we're tempted to do it again before we get too decrepit.

Another busy day for us! OH and his pals are working on the kit car this morning. Dog training this afternoon and after dinner we're going up to DS1 and DIL's to stay overnight. DS1 and OH are going to Duxford (Air museum) tomorrow as DS1 is having a flight in a Tiger Moth. A good boys' day out!

I hope Enfys has something special planned for today - have a lovely day, lovely lady. x

Good Morning everyone,I have done a quick catch up on goings on after having trouble with my BB connection it kept dropping out for some daft reason it was very strange as it just kept going off for no apparent reason Peter my friends son says it may have been a glitch from an update installed but I just don't know ? All seems OK at the minute fingers crossed xxx

Oma I just love a nice lasagne with a couple of slices of garlic bread & salad I find now buying a ready made one now for me (M&S) anything bigger would be a waste for me.

The back garden is looking tidier now the shed has been taken down table & chairs now positioned on the patio area I have ordered a new parasol red & white ofcourse to brighten up the area it should be here in the next few days hopefully.

I had a lovely visit from DD and my baby GGS he is coming along so well laughing all the time he is so cute he stayed the night with DD and had a good night .

Still no luck with finding a flat for DS1 so many Estate Agents failing to get back to him with regard to feed back from viewing its been over a week from one of them and still no reply from them poor customer service if you ask me.

Jim from next door has settled into his new care home very well his niece showed me some pictures of him sitting outside the conservatory in a linen sports jacket & straw boater looking very debonair to say the least he is well looked after all his personal needs are catered for and he is making so many new friends the bungalow is to be emptied by 15th July
so I'll have new neighbours by the end of August,there will be a rush for people applying for it as the area is very sought after,I just have to make sure Oliver does not invite himself in there uninvited .

I'm off out now to nail salon to have my nail colour changed DD had hers done this last week-end in a lovely yellow colour I tend to stick to pinks or pink & white french manicure for special occasions I will go sparkly but not very often the girls at the salon are such friendly girls I have been going to them for quite a few years now,I don't have false nails just the shellac colour which lasts about 4/5 weeks depending how careful I am,my little treat to myself.

Hallo everyone, I have been a bag of nerves all day, GD1 got her exam results today, the darling has just phoned and she has passed all her exams with very good results!!!!! It must have helped having her here 10 days to study!

She is coming to me tomorrow at the holiday address for a few days, DS1 will bring her, he leaves for South Africa on Friday. busy man.

I am so pleased, been waiting all morning for her to phone!!!

I am going to get my bike on the carrier now and can relax!
