I hope GD and baby are soon well Plant.
I think staying home is the best decision for you today Oma xx
Daisy, I think escaping the tip run is good thing I hate it!

I was at the optician almost two hours!
A combination of machines malfunctioning and a comparatively new staff member who did things rather slowly and often need to get someone more senior to oversee things! The part with the optician went smoothly though! Anyway I have my existing glasses tightened up so they won't drop off, and have bought new ordinary distance glasses and sunglasses. My reading glasses are fine. I go back for the new ones on the 15th.

Plant - our posts crossed this morning. Poor baby H, and poor GD. It's hard when baby is fretful/teething and mum is feeling under the weather as well. I'm sure it was good to see the smile back on baby's face, though. I do hope your sister is back in her own home.

Oma - I hope B got lots of inspiration from the wood-turning exhibition today. It amazes me how quickly we have the trailer filled up for a tip run, but the 'stuff' never seems to get any less in the house or garden! Like Gem, I hate going there. I can just imagine B and M with the high chair - the Chuckle brothers made me laugh out loud!

Gem, that was a long session in the opticians! At least you don't have to wait too long for your new glasses.

Nanto - thank you for the link to the lazy susans - I might get a couple as well.

I got a couple more windows cleaned today - it's taking a while as I'm cleaning the surrounds and inside the openings - a proper job! I don't do that every time I clean them, but with all the work in the garden the dust has gone everywhere. I got a couple of loads of washing done, cleaned a some display shelves and a cupboard in the kitchen and helped OH to move round a few more things in the garden. We've got a gravelled area in front of my summerhouse which we grandly call The Beach, and now we can finally see it again. There's a small table and a couple of wooden chairs there and it looks much better. We've got a couple of garden figures we use to prop doors open in the summer - we called them Claude and Boris - long before anyone had heard of any other Borises! They are back in place. And OH covered the big table up for the winter. It's nice to get some of these jobs ticked off.

                    Cold and breezy this morning.

Plenty to do to keep me warm and occupied, ironing being one of the jobs.

Daisy, i'm well pleased with the lazy susans.

                        Good morning.

Nan2, I think the only good thing about ironing is that it warms you up!

Oma, I suspect the children won't be told about the baby until after the 12 week scan. GD and GS1 will be SO excited. GS loves babies, and regrets that at 3 he didn't appreciate his baby cousin Gosh, you have been busy this morning, and all before 8 am!!

It's good to get things ticked off, Daisy. I didn't know you had a beach

We had a lovely evening. Good meal, good company. Two of us didn't have starter, so with drinking wine whilst waiting for my main course I felt quite giddy by the time it arrived!
OH's golf friend is coming for Sunday lunch today. OH is cooking pork in Guinness. She got the recipe from friends we ate with years ago, but has never tried making it yet.
We plan to put the Christmas tree up tomorrow, so will get stuff out of the loft later today.

                        Happy Sunday everyone.

Good morning one and all. It's very sunny and breezy here. Not too chilly either, so if it's the same of Enfys further along the coast it will be lovely.

I didn't wake up till 9 am so need to get my skates on.

I do hop Lizzie you are enjoying a really lovely 5th December with your family.

Oma - I wouldn't get that much work done in a day! Respect, my friend. x It sounds like the sort of day to settle down with a good book and ignore the weather.

Gem - I can imagine how excited the children will be when they hear about their new cousin on the way. I'll never forget GS2 seeing baby GD1 for the first time. He was about 5 and he was mesmerised by her, especially her tiny hands and feet. It was such a lovely moment. Your OH's recipe for pork in Guinness sounds delicious. Hopefully it will become a regular meal!

Apart from my friend popping round for a coffee later, no plans for today. Lots to do but I'll just take it one job at a time.

Good morning, the sun is out Oma but I have just been to a shop in the next village, on my bike, it was cold! I got what I went for, we call it the "cheap shop", similar to B&M I expect, it is always busy so I was one of the first ones in at 10am. We had the rain all day yesterday, in fact, it didn't get light until 4pm then it got dark again.

Daisy, you have been busy tidying things in the garden etc.

Pork in guinness sounds tasty Gem, I am deciding on what to do for Christmas, if we are allowed there will be 7 of us.

Just popped through next door, baby H is back in her cot but did not eat much breakfast. She was with DD and Sil all night, her mum and dad were in London celebrating GD’s birthday. They will be picking her up soon. My DD had a bad reaction to the booster jab, just before she went to bed she felt so cold and shivery and couldn’t stop shaking. We have sunshine and rain here. I hope Enfys is having some sunny weather. No plans for me today, not long got up. I have made my Christmas card list so will make a start on those and I must get on with that table runner, getting close to finishing it. Oma, my lovely GS3 (they are all lovely) finished his degree and is working for the same company as my GS1. He would like to move to London but can’t find anyone to share with, so isn’t very happy still being at home.

Gemini, your meal out with friends sounded very enjoyable, not sure about pork and Guinness.

Daisy, I need to clean my windows, I will not open them to see the edges, I am sure they will need a clean, it will have to wait for warmer days. It sounds as if your garden is gradually getting straight to be enjoyed in the Spring.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

I don't think pork in guinness would be my cup of tea.
