Good Saturday morning Nanto. Lovely cheerful graphic to start the week-end. I hope your OH finds everything he needs in the garden centre. Dad's doing well, bless him, but I'm sure it helps knowing you and your OH are so close by.

Another busy day at Daisy Towers. Both DSs and DILs plus GDs are coming for lunch. We're so looking forward to seeing them all. But I must get cracking. There's some ironing to do - I've been doing it in the dining room so I need to get that cleared away. We can't eat in the garden at the moment, which is a shame as it's a nice morning here.

I hope everyone is well. Enjoy your Saturday.

Good morning Nan2, good morning everyone.

I hope everyone is well today.
Enjoy coffee and lunch out Nan2. I wonder what your OH will come home with ?

I didn't feel too well yesterday afternoon (very chilly and couldn't get warm, bit of a sore throat, just unwell) I decided it was irresponsible to go to see our friends, even if I felt better if there was a chance it was Covid. I did a lateral flow test, which was negative, and with the passing of time, painkillers and rest I felt fine again. We had a nice evening with our friends.

This afternoon DD and GS1 are coming over. We didn't see them last week as they were on holiday. We may go to the cafe in the village.
No other plans today. OH is on another 2 day golf away thing tomorrow so she will be packing today.

      Happy Weekend everyone.

Thanks, Gem. I'm glad you're ok after feeling poorly yesterday afternoon. Sensible not to go and see your friends, though. Enjoy this afternoon with DD and GS1 - did they have a nice holiday? OH is busy with golf competitions now - I bet she's so pleased to be back on the course.

Good morning everyone, it must be 10 degrees down on yesterday here. I have just looked, 12 degrees down!

I was just speaking to the daughter of the lady under me, I was sat here last week and heard one #### of a bang, I had a look out on the balcony but couldn't see anything, I thought it was under here, I had to go out and when I got back there was an ambulance in the street, the poor lady had tripped, banged the door post and landed on a cupboard. She is still in the hospital but won't be coming home this time, she banged her head, brain damage then her arm and side are open, poor lady, she is 85 years old. Her daughter said they are looking for a care home, if possible in the area where she lives.

It is fine putting all the old ones in the same apartments but oh dear, the worries that come with it!

Sorry Oma, I missed your post, you will find the paint when you have got another, always happens like that.

Daisy, enjoy the lunch with the family.

I have got my supply of winter supplements, the R is in the month. Do any of you take the multi vitamins? I am doing my best to lose the weight that needs to go, I went to see the dietician and she advised me to take the multi vitamins.

Lizzie, that is very kind of you, it must be a worry for her family. It is strange to me that you all seem to go out on bikes, the traffic here is really bad for cyclists.

Nanto, enjoy your day out, nice to have a meal you haven’t cooked.

Baby H is with us tonight, her parents are off to a wedding and will stay overnight. Apart from that, no plans.

Plant, most of the roads have cycle paths, in fact we have a very good network of cycle paths. We can go wherever we want on the paths. I am not keen on roads with traffic, I will find a path even if it means a longer ride. I used to cycle round Delft but I am not keen on that now with the new system, I am not the only one.
On the roundabouts within a built up area cyclists have the right of way, we don't always get it so I make sure that they are going to stop before I proceed.
Then there is a strange law that if there is an accident the cyclist is always in the right.

                    I have just copied this.

The Dutch government brought in legislation stating that primarily the motorist is liable for the damage incurred in accidents involving cyclists. However, cyclists remain responsible for their own traffic-behaviour. They can be fined for traffic violations and if their traffic behaviour has further consequences, then the judge is at liberty to pass sentence on them. Furthermore, a cyclist who has been found guilty of a traffic violation, is liable for the damage caused to the car. The courts give separate judgements concerning liability and guilt in such situations, so damages can be claimed by a cyclist whether or not he may have been judged as responsible for causing the accident. The guilty judgement is ignored when apportioning damages, because of the greater vulnerability of the cyclist. Motorists are legally obliged to insure themselves against this type of accident and the insurance companies are obliged to honour the claims.

Lizzie - that's really interesting, and I'll come back to read it more carefully - dog food is due in a minute and I'm getting tidied up before the family arrives.

Oma - oh shucks - I'm too late to drop mine off then!

Oh Lizzie your poor neighbour I know what you feel like with all over a certain age living so close together when you don't see someone for a while you tend to worry about them,I hope they find a nice care facility for her.
My next door neighbour Jim is home now he was sent to the rehab centre for 3 days to access that he could care for himself to a certain degree,I'm not convinced he is caperable enough to manage on his own, they have arranged care 4 x times a day but no one arrived yesterday and I had to take him in some beef stew & fresh fruit for his meal.

Oh Lizzie, it's all going on around you. That poor lady and her family.

How nice having baby H staying Plant.

Glamma, thank goodness you were there to see to Jim, but that is not your job. That was our worry when we briefly considered mum having carers at home instead of a care home. We had heard so many stories of them not turning up, and certainly no continuity which she gets now from the same carers.

I have had a very lazy morning watching soaps and celebrity master chef that we missed by going out last night. I am going to meet DD and GS1 for tea and cake this afternoon.

Lizzie, sad to hear about your neighbour having a bad fall.

Gem, glad you felt better later yesterday.
