Oma and Gem, thanks, I am OK, luckily it all went well. I was thinking it must be the first time my GD2 has heard me swear!!!!

Oma, I think it is worse for a man to be left alone, especially at that age as they will never have done the cooking etc like the modern generation do. I was talking to friend the other day, his wife died a while ago, he still does cleaning cooking etc and looks well, in fact I asked him how old he was now and was surprised when he said 82 years old.

I have started on the blinds, have to measure it all out first. They will keep me occupied, pool this afternoon, the decorators have arrived to do the outside so I will have to be home for the doors, they will let me know when that is going to happen.

I like the sound of a "song and dance" gadget, I will have to google it!

Good morning everyone from me. It's sunny but very cold and frosty here.

I'm sorry, I'm way behind on reading everyone's posts, but I'll pop back later and try and catch up. xx

What a cheek sending the wrong thing Oma, it's a good job you realised,
The sun is out here too Daisy, but very cold out. Luckily I don't have to go out. No further than the freezer in the shed anyway.
OH has gone for sport type massage to ease her neck. She was hoping the room wouldn't be too cold!

GS1 is fine, just a slight cough and sniffle, DD and SIL still testing negative so far.

Hopefully that’s all he gets Gem ,
SILs partner has tested Positive along with the lad they employ
they have a full new house to Carpet for the lady moving in on Saturday so SIL has had to shut the shop and do it all himself .
            can’t be helped though

Good morning ladies. Oma, they will not take the lump off today unfortunately, it is for an assessment. I will have to strip off down to my underwear as they want to check the rest of my body. I think it will be done at a different hospital but when, who knows. I am going to take the opportunity to go to the tip which is in the same direction.

Lizzie, I remember making vertical blinds for my DD, wouldn’t want to do it again but they are still up at the window. The move for your Bil might be just what he needs.

A song and dance gadget sounds good Oma, will it peel chop and cook?

Gemini, I hope the quiz goes well this time.

This post got interrupted and then I had to dash out Well:-

I got to the hospital having put on my posh underwear as they said I would need a full body check and was greeted by a nurse who gave me a Covid test and took a swab from my groin, that was it thank you and goodbye! I went to the tip and then spent the afternoon with Baby H and her mother. When I am going to hear any more about the lump, goodness only knows. Feeling a bit miffed.

Good gracious Plant, what a waste of time. I don't know your circumstances and don't want to pry, but in your shoes if I could I would maybe go private now and get this done with.
I'm glad you did something nice with the day in the end.

Scrabble, sending out the minutes, and catching up with jobs around the house have filled the day. The sun came out and it wasn't quite as cold as the day went on.

Plant, that is not good, putting your posh underwear on for nothing!!! No, sorry, I can understand you feeling miffed, did they mention the lump on your hand?

Yes the vertical blinds are a lot of work, hopefully they will turn out OK, we have the decorators doing the outside so whilst they are busy I have to be home and keep myself busy.

                    Plant, wham,bam thank you maam.

GD2 house is lovely. On the way we stopped off to buy her a microwave and a slow cooker.
She cried when we gave her them. Sensitive little soul she is.
We didn't see her partner,he was in bed, working the night shift this week.

It's been a full on day at dad's. We've come across things that we haven't seen for years.Bittersweet.
Told hubby that when the house goes up for sale, i don't want to go down that street.
Like he says, there will be no reason for us to down again when we have finished clearing it out.

Nanto - losing Dad will bring huge changes to your and your OH's lives. You've done so much for him and Mam over the years. Emptying the house will be so hard, and I can understand you not wanting to go past there when someone else has moved in. I'm so glad you like GD2's house - I bet she was so proud showing you round. She sounds a lovely girl, and I'm sure she appreciates you thoughtfulness and kindness very much.

Lizzie - I can't imagine how you even start to make vertical blinds! That near miss on the road must have been really scary.

Plant - what a waste of time it seems, putting on your best undies and then you were in and out and nothing done! I'd be really fed up if it were me.

Gem - I hope the quiz has gone well tonight. Hopefully GS1 will be fine. I hope his mum and dad don't get it as well. Have DD3 and SIL found somewhere to buy yet? It won't take long to sell their current home.

Oma - I hope B gets the proper Ninja cooker thingy quickly. Nothing seems to go to plan these days! I love your hair colour, by the way. It suits you.

Glamm - your heart must have sunk when you realised you hadn't got your purse. Thank goodness your friend was able to use her card, or you would have been on pot wash for a week! I love the idea of your Blush pink hair matching your soft furnishings! That must be the last word in elegance.

WeeGranny - you are certainly getting plenty of interest in your house, and a good offer. It's hard keeping a house 'viewing ready' when you are living in it. I read somewhere about someone who put a duvet and pillows with posh bedding on in the drawer under the bed and quickly swapped them over with their normal bedding when they had a viewing. Have you got any odd things you 'have' to tidy up before viewings?

Plant that sounds like what they do before a op , maybe you will get to see someone soon ,

I have no idea how the Gadget works apart from roasting, Pressure cooks ,bakes etc , it’s a 11 in 1 job apparently

Nanto I bet she was so grateful saves her some money that will be tight while they set up a new home
Yes it will be strange when everything is done and dusted for you .

SIL popped in for a hour , he is looking tired all the work on his shoulders this week ,
He got the best Biscuits as usual . I only really buy biscuits for him to be honest we rarely eat them , I have to be very strict with myself as I love biscuits and could eat a packet myself , so safer not to buy many

B took the car to be hand washed after lunch it’s looking better it was so dirty ,

I sorted some stuff for charity shop from my wardrobe , found a couple pair of trousers still with tags on
Put them in bag as looking at them I can’t understand why I bought them as I don’t like the style ,
                        A few blouses again I don’t like ,
Need to sort Bs wardrobe out then we can take them to charity shop .

After what has seemed like a busy few days, I'm finally catching up!

Yesterday we went up to DS1's for a belated birthday celebration for GS2. One set of grandparents were away (they boys have got 3 sets of GPs) but us and DIL's mum and her husband were there. He still had presents of open and then we had cake etc. It was low-key, but it suited GS, I think. It was a lovely day, and very relaxed. GD2 and I had time for a good long chat about what he's doing and his interests - he's such a sweet-heart. (Ok, I might be a tiny bit biased, but he's very kind and gentle).

In the morning GS1 drove me and DIL to Home Sense where DIL wanted to get something for her mother. He copes very well with the manic roads round their way - huge roundabouts with multiple lanes, and fast-moving traffic.

DS1 wasn't feeling great. It was probably the Indian take-away they'd had at friends' the previous night, after spending much of Saturday building flat-pack wardrobes for their hallway. But he's much better today, and has an MRI scan tomorrow.

I felt really tired (again) today. I'm still not getting much sleep with the new mattress and every morning I wake up with a stiff and aching neck. It's not got any better during the day today. We need a soft mattress topper, I think. The bed's a bit too firm for me. OH is very happy with it.

I took Eva out for a quick walk this morning. She was very good, thank goodness, and probably tired after several busy days.

Good morning. A busy day ahead for us.

Oma, i chose yesterdays graphic for dad.
He loved animal, but dogs were his favourite.

Daisy, hope DS1 is feeling better.
                            Hope the MRI goes well.

                              Good morning everyone,

Nan2, I hope you are OK. its all very draining for you.
I know what you mean about the physical and emotional task clearing out a house, and it being hard to go back. I felt that way about my mum's house, but as our sale has dragged on so long I don't any more. I almost don't feel it was my family home.

Daisy, what a pain that the new mattress isn't comfortable. Does it have a 3 month window to return or anything? I hope your DS is better and the scan goes smoothly.
You asked about DD and SIL3's house. They have accepted an offer 5 thousand above the asking price, on day 1! Fingers crossed it all goes through. DD1, and us with my mum's house both lost 3 offers, so I am little disillusioned by it all! They are now having to try to find a house. There isn't much around apparently.

Oma, someone will be glad of those clothes.

Tuesday is usually GS1 from school then to martial arts day. He is of course in quarantine all this week, so no job for me.
It is very frosty out, I have leaflets to deliver and if it clears later I may do some later in the day. Golf day for OH. She has a free day tomorrow when I am busy, so I hope she may do the rest then!

                              Keep warm ladies.

Daisy, I hope your DS1 scan goes well. It is so difficult to find a mattress, you really need to try it out. I am very reluctant to change mine although it is too big for me.

Oma, will you take the unwanted clothes to a charity shop or have you got another way to find homes for them. I have an amusing vision of B juggling the different ways his new gadget will cook.

Gemini, I hope your GS isn’t too poorly. He will miss his time with you. I hope your DD3 will find a suitable house soon, not a good time for her in early pregnancy.

Nanto, a very sad time for you having to sort out your in-laws home, very hard job.

Now I have had the pre-assessment for the removal of this crusty lump, I am hoping it will not be long before I hear. I gather it will not be done at the small hospital where I have had small things removed on my face but at the main hospital. Also, the swabs that the nurse took for Covid and MRSA, will not be much help if it isn’t done soon. Heaven forbid, I could pick up Covid today.
