Golly, what a busy day everyone's had! All that ironing makes me feel guilty - my pile of it just grows and grows!

Sorry I missed commenting on a couple of posts which crossed with mine.

Grauntie - I wonder where that key fob will turn up! That's a lot of Covid around your way. I suppose children were bound to get it after being isolated at home for so long during the lockdowns. Hopefully the cases are mild and they are building up immunity gradually like we've all done with colds and flu. I do hope your DD escapes, though.

Plant - I'm so glad to see you're back, and it was nothing serious. I was nice to have a chat though, and I do hope your sister will be home very soon. She's a brave and determined lady. xx

Gem - I meant to put brandy butter on my order today for the same reason, and forgot. I'll do it next week.

Enfys - I hope travelling light still means you've got lots of layers to wrap up warm. Safe journey tomorrow, and enjoy your holiday. Perhaps your elderly neighbour just needs a complete change of life style and some tough challenges to help him deal with his loss. I hope he's ok.

Nanto - whenever I see lazy susans I think what a good idea they are. Next time I must get a couple for my spice cupboard. Although I do find the small baskets with little handles at one end useful.

Glamm - we didn't put our outside lights up last year because we weren't here, but perhaps we will this year and hope we don't have any gales.

Mimi - it's amazing how all those things jump into your trolley in shops, isn't it! At least you also got what you went into Home Bargains for. Good for you, meeting up with your friends again. No matter what, at some point in our lives we have to press on and live it fully. Your friends will be delighted to see you.

We've also had our first card yesterday, from friends who are going away for the whole of December and the first week in January. I wish they'd said where they are going!

I got some of the windows cleaned, but then my arm was aching and my knees were starting to hurt from kneeling on kitchen work surfaces to reach those windows. They are the hardest ones to do, so good to get them out of the way. Then we went out into the garden to start moving things back on to the patio. I decided to wash and clean out the water barrel, but it was so cold I gave up and did a bit of online shopping, instead.

Good morning, it is early and I will catch up on all the posts later on, I had to Google a "lazy Susan"! That was the first thing I bought when I went to work in the charity shop years ago, it was brand new and has held all oils, vinegars, etc etc in my bottom kitchen cupboard ever since! I didn't know they had a name!

Morning. Would be nice not to keep waking up at 4:30am but then I am grateful to wake up of course. Busy with granddaughter and boyfriend here and I do still have to pinch myself as I watch her sitting on the sofa wit her knees tucked up under her, still feels surreal. Today I am meeting our new patron of BGSG, Jasvinder Sanghara CBE we have met virtually but not face to face, so need to whip up the road and get something to eat as she is coming over lunchtime. Cake is made as it is sort of compulsory! Jasvinder fought for a change in the law against forced marriage, and succeeded, so has also written a book called 'Shame' which is a very powerful read. She escaped a forced marriage and has been estranged from her family for years as a result. Looking forward to working with her. Hope everyone has a good day.x

Good morning Lizzie, Jane, Nan2 and everyone else.

            It seems milder here too.

It's lovely to hear about your GD being with you Jane

We are going to M&S this morning. I want a chocolate covered panettone, and a box of biscuits for the staff at the care home. We will no doubt come out with a few more things!

            School pick ups this afternoon.

This evening we are invited to friends for a catch up. Not to eat, so we shall eat something quick between DD and the GC leaving and us going there.

Keep warm and well ladies, don't forget to do the Advent calendar

Had a very late sleep, must have needed it but it puts me all behind. Waitrose shop for me later. Saw doctor face to face yesterday about my psoriasis and she is going to refer me to a Dermatologist. One place on the back of my hand has resulted into an ulcer (a raised painful lump) she said it needed to be removed. I await to hear from them.

Jane, how lovely to have your GD with you. Your new patron sounds a strong lady and should be an asset to your cause.

Daisy, take care cleaning those windows, you don’t want to hurt your arm. I need to clean mine, that window over the sink is a challenge.

Gemini, I presume the chocolate panettone is for your family Christmas, will you be able to resist it before then?

GD1’s birthday tomorrow, not sure how she is going to celebrate it, presumeable we will see her at some point in the day.

                Morning all ,
was up again last night I had a bad tension headache for hours and laying down seemed to make it worse ,
Went up to bed at 5.30 and slept for two hours felt tired but headache has eased .

Did a quick flick through and emptied bins the n we went to B&M , Iceland and Lidl

                I was good in B&M I only bought 2 things 😀

Went into Lidl and bought a lovely fresh side of Salmon only £11 it will portion into at least 8 pieces , so worth it ,
Apparently Salmon is on offer everywhere this week ,
They we’re just putting it out when we got there so lots of nice pieces .

Gem meant to Ask did your Mum enjoy her mince pie ?
enjoy your catch up with friends ,

How is Henry is he ok at the moment xx

Jane you must pinch yourself every time you look at GD . We make the most of seeing our youngest two when we do see them , we never know how long it will be before we see them again

Lizzie a good bargain if your still using your Lazy Susan , we had a Marble one but it got broken and I didn’t replace it ,
I may buy one again too they save reaching into the cupboard all the time ,

Nanto how is FIL is he doing ok ? Xx

Daisy doing windows will not help your arm now will it , you should have asked your window cleaner to do the insides for you ,
My SIL does that every now and then , she pays him extra and he gives the unreachable ones a good clean inside ,

My daughter has a big range cooker it has 2 main ovens and 2 small ones ,
She got a man out to clean them yesterday , she said he was there 3 hours and it looks like new and he only charged £50 that included cleaning all the hobs and outside too .
Going to portion my salmon up now and get it in freezer , will pop back later xx

Oma, I get that side of salmon from the Lidl when it is on offer, it is very good. Oma, it was a good "lazy Susan" and I love it, it could have been from the Ikea at the time but I am not sure about that. Your DD got a bargain with the oven cleaning.

My swimming friend has just been to tell me all the tests are clear and all the problems seem to be caused by stress.

It is very cold and windy here so no bike ride for me today.

Lizzie trying to ride your bike in the wind isn’t advisable you could end up being blown off

Plant the panettone is for Christmas. OH won one in a golf club raffle two years ago and we loved it. Last year we went to M&S to buy one later in December and they were sold out. Hence going now. I hope we will resist it until then!

I'm glad your swimming friends test were OK Lizzie and yes, stay off the bike on windy days!

Oma, mum LOVED her Sainsbury's mince pie Henry has been ok, but hes not eaten this morning. He loves his food, but he has these off days from time to time, so hopefully he will be fine and get his appetite back later.

Very sad, you wonder why people can be so cruel.

Lizzie, sadly all that cruelty happened during lockdown when schools were closed otherwise the teachers might have questioned it. I remember I had a little lad who came in with marks round his neck...his sister had put a rope round and tried to strangle him. I reported it to the head and I still don't know whether he referred it to SS. He (the head) was a bit scared of the mother! They eventually moved so I don't know how they fared. But it is a harrowing story.

Been to see funeral director today. All sorted for 23rd December. So much paperwork to complete though. It's a little family business and he was so lovely taking us through everything. It'll be a Humanist service, OH wasn't religious and it would be hypocritical to have a vicar conduct the service.. We'll have some lovely music and readings and maybe his best friend would like to say a few words. We'll just have to see.

Afterwards, we went out for lunch, which was very enjoyable. DD and doggo have gone hoe now, DS has gone down the shop to get some beer and I suspect he may have gone in the pub! I'm trying to arrange a wake and write announcements for the newspapers! And collate addresses for cousins that OH didn't keep in touch with, but I feel should know.

Once that's done, I think I shall sit and do nothing!! I have put a bottle of wine in the fridge, so I might sit and enjoy that.

                                Enjoy your evening ladies xx
