Good luck with hunting for cardigans, Oma! I find it difficult too, but they are so useful in our variable climate. I have bought some from Damart, Nanto, and I got one from Cotton Traders recently. It was fine apart from having horrible dreary buttons, so I bought some new buttons for it, but can't sew them on at the moment with my arm and thumb being so painful. By the way - I don't wear green either, apart from a pair of very dark green velvet trousers which would pass for black!

Sainsburys seem to have a lot of gaps on their shelves. I had 6 substitutions in my order this week, and one 'not available'.

WeeGranny - it must be uncomfortable for your OH with so many needles and tubes. No wonder he's covered in bruises. Did they say how long the course of treatment might be? Using the Park & Ride carpark was a good idea - a bit of a walk in the sunshine is good for us.

My arm is still painful, but not quite as bad as yesterday. I use ice packs and Ibuprofen gel (I can't take the tablets) plus Paracetamol when it's driving me mad! I've done very little today, but took Eva out for a walk this afternoon. We were walking along, minding our own business on a nice loose lead when there was a scrabbling up the fence by us and up popped a squirrel. Not sure who was more surprised, him or Eva, but both leapt into action and I just managed to take up the slack in the lead with my other hand and steer her round in a big circle. Not good for my arm! I haven't been to the doctors (haha) or anything. I've had it before and it will get better with a bit of care, but it's such a nuisance and constant pain wears you out.

Glamm - your little grand daughter is such a sweetheart. I hope she enjoyed her holiday in Wales. I'm glad you've sorted out the cat flap problem. It's great that Jim is doing well. I bet he enjoyed your DD's Scouse. How was your afternoon with your friend?

Lizzie - what an awful woman making up stories like that. The bike company have been really good - I wonder what sort of satisfaction she gets out of her silly and malicious gossip.

Gem - did you get your decluttering jobs done? If so, would you like to come and do the same here - there are plenty of choices! I hope things are ok at your Mum's bungalow. Is that SIL the one who does the pop-up restaurants?

        I missed my morning Granchat!

I hope you enjoyed the homemade Chinese WG. My OH cooks an excellent one!
Good to know you are feeling much better Glamma.
How is the arm Daisy? Yes that was the SIL who did the pop up restaurant night before Covid stopped it.

I have continued my decluttering/tidying. The GC's drawing drawer this morning, and putting some ironing away.
Yesterday I moved the Barbie and Disney Princess dolls (after dressing them nicely and doing their hair!) to a bag to be put away in the loft. The box which was feed up by this is now a craft box, and the craft drawer in the dining room is now free for the people who actually live in the house to use
We had a roast chicken dinner last night. Tonight we are outing out with friends. A birthday celebration.

        Happy Sunday everyone.

Very pleased we are up and running. Very quiet here, DD and Sil have gone to Sil’s mother’s house to do the last bit of clearing and cleaning, sil will cut the grass. Fingers crossed the sale will now go through smoothly. The new border had some rain this morning so hope the very expensive plants are settling in.

Oma, no sunshine here but not cold, although I have just switched the heating on. Sunday is not a day of rest in your house, I have done very little.

WG, how is your OH managing the treatment? I hope he is managing to eat something.

Had a long chat with Dil, she wanted to fix up a meal with me for my birthday.

              Cold and dull here too.
OH is on the golf course for couple of hours. Some of the experienced lady members volunteer to go out on the course with some new ones, today is one of the days.

I have been to see my friend/ex neighbour. I have been worrying about him since Tuesday when I emailed him about going to see him next week and have had no reply. I knew he was going to the hospital to have yet more skin cancers investigated just after I last saw him and when I heard nothing I worried (as I do) I decided to just drive down this afternoon as its only 4 miles away. He was in, obviously not well and about to enjoy a glass of port! He has had that very bad cold that many have had. He's felt unwell for about 10 days now. He said he made himself eat lunch today, even though he didn't feel like it, as he wasn't eating, and is hoping to get into the garden for bit tomorrow if the weather is fine. He kept meaning to email me but has had internet problems (and probably just didn't feel up to it)
He had cream for the skin cancers, which has worked well, and nothing new to worry about there.
I will go and see him the week after next to give him time to recover. Talking makes him cough at the moment, so I didn't stay long. I am relieved, my mind was working overtime!!

We are collecting two of our friends at 5.40 to go into town for the meal at 6pm, so I will sort out what to wear soon.

Gem, hope your friend feels better soon.

After a rainy start to the day,the sun did eventually come out.
About 11ish we were sat in the garden with a cuppa, and it was lovely and warm.

Got quite a few jobs done this morning when Grus was unavailable.
Cleaned windows, ironed, cleaned the kitchen and tidied elsewhere.

We were chatting with BIL last night and they had told him he will be going to Sheffield tomorrow.
Hope nothing happens to stop him from getting the stents.

Hallo, Gem, you would be worried about your neighbour, my BIL phoned today, oh dear, he can't stop crying when he is talking. He said he had to get DS2 to call in a few times last week. I expected him to be able to get on with life as he was such an active man before my sister died.

I have tidied a few more things out today, as well as being addicted to coats I seem to be the same with night dresses etc. I have sorted a few out for the charity shop, I have a few for when the girls slept here so I will sort those out.

I have a vegetable bake in the oven at the moment, I have always done them but they are very popular here at the moment.

                  Gem, enjoy the meal out.

Hello everyone. I have to admit I got none of my jobs done this morning, but I did have a lot of contact with our hosting company. Everything is now sorted out, and you will be relieved to know that it wasn't any sort of hacking problem - a payment which normally would go through automatically didn't and threw everything out! One of the occasional problems of the wonders of the internet, I suppose. I'm so sorry if it worried anyone though.

We've just got back from taking Eva to the paddock. She had a lovely time, including some practice on a long lead which she accepted quite happily. The sun was shining and it was a lovely afternoon, but you definitely needed a light jacket.

Nanto- everything crossed that your BIL is ok to be transferred to Sheffield tomorrow. The sooner the stent op goes ahead the better. xx

Gem - there have been some really awful colds about and it sounds as though your poorly ex-neighbour has been quite poorly. I'm glad he's on the mend, and thank goodness the skin problems can be dealt with with cream. One less thing to worry about. I'm sure S finds it rewarding helping with the newcomers at the golf club. It must be good to see a nervous beginner gaining confidence and making progress. Enjoy your night out tonight. My arm isn't as bad as yesterday, but it's starting to hurst again now - I'll cook dinner and then put an ice pack on it. At least I slept a bit better last night.

Plant - I hope the house sale goes through smoothly. Plants do seem to have shot up in price, don't they! But the soil's still warm so I hope they settle in quickly.

WG - I've been wondering about your Chinese meal as well. What did you make?

Oma - you certainly got plenty of jobs done. I wish I'd brought my ironing round and sneaked it in with yours!

Lizzie - you posted while I was typing.

Your poor BIL. It sounds as though he's going through a really hard time, and perhaps losing your sister hits him harder at some times than others. Is it their anniversary or any other special occasion that might have made him feel so low. x

The Chinese meal didn't happen last night! DS decided he wanted to go over the road to the pub ( think it was really to see the Black Lab named Digby), so I sent him a message asking if he fancied fish and chips for dinner, and if he did could he stop at the chip shop which is next to the pub and get some. We had a lovely freshly cooked bit of cod and enough chips to feed 10 of us!
DD messaged to say she was coming out today, so after dropping DS at hospital, I popped into M&S and got some bits and pieces to make the Fried Rice Vermicelli with chicken do 3 rather that 2! Hopefully it'll be enough!
Oma, the plan is for OH to go back to the nursing home when he's discharged. There is no way I could look after him myself, he needs help to stand up from a chair and I'm certainly not strong enough to do that after watching how much of an effort it is on the nurse's. There's nothing of him either, so it should be easy, but it isn't. They've kept his room for him at the nursing home and staff have phoned several times to check how he is.
Yesterday was a glorious day and this morning started damp and grey, but the sun came out this afternoon but it's turning a bit chilly now. I couldn't get warm yesterday after sitting on the river bank with DS enjoying our drink! Heating went on pronto when we got in!
Have a good evening ladies xx

Daisy, no, he said he just sits and thinks! No special date or anything. He hasn't any hobbies, he did have but hasn't picked them up again.

Oh, Lizzie, it must be hard if he's got nothing much to distract him from sitting and thinking - the days must seem long. Is there any way he can be persuaded to get back to his hobbies, or start a new one? Or perhaps volunteer for something.

Losing his friend as well in that awful accident must have hit him hard as well.

Daisy, losing his friend has hit him hard, his DS's have done so much research to find something to occupy him, but, I said to him yesterday, there is one person that can help him, that is himself, it isn't easy, as I well know, just get doing something, he used to go to the gym, bird watching etc. I do hope he finds help though. He is on tablets for depression which make matters worse.
