        Good Monday morning everyone.

Nanto - what a pretty graphic. A nice start to the week. Don't work too hard on the garden.

Lizzie - It's very hard to pick yourself up from a double bereavement and depression, especially when you live alone. I do feel for your BIL and hope he can find some way to improve things for himself - you're right, he has got to be the one to pick up his life again.

Oma - I hope you find the cardigan of your dreams. Thank you for asking, I slept fairly well but still woke up three or four times. I'll try and take it easy today and keep up the ice packs.

I hope everyone is ok - and that this is will be a good week. x

Good morning all. Sorry to have been absent but I’ve just been reading back and catching up on your news.

Daisy, hope you arm is getting better. I have problems with my shoulder if I do too much knitting/crochet and it’s playing up at the moment. Such a nuisance when you can’t do what you want to.

Lizzie, I feel very sorry for your BIL. It’s so hard to try and get back to some sort of “normal” but I do wonder if men find it more difficult. Our neighbour up the road lost his wife about 3 years ago but is still so down and still cries about her when I see him, so sad. I still get sad but try and put on a brave face in front of others.

Good luck with the cardigan hunting Oma. I like layers so have quite a few, haven’t needed them much lately, it’s still so mild.

Had a lovely long walk yesterdayWith DD and Dexter. Of course he managed to find the muddiest part of the river as usual.

I have Cooper here with me today and he’s snoring beside me at the moment. We’ve had a walk around the garden now he needs a rest!

Theres been lots of funny bugs going around. Both DD and I had an odd 24:hours last week. Headachey, tired just feeling generally off. Didn’t last long though, all ok now. I have my flu jab next week and waiting to hear about the Covid booster.

Have a good day everyone 🌞

            Good morning everyone.

I hope it stays fine for the gardening today Nan2.
Lizzie, I really feel for your BIL, especially with winter coming on.
WG the nursing home is certainly the place for your OH to return to once he's discharged from hospital.
Daisy, I hope today is a less stressful one for you!
Oma, the meal and the night out were very good. As we ate at 6 and our table was needed by another party we were finished by 8.20. We went to a pub for one drink before going home. I was very dubious about the whole idea of a pub, but it wasn't crowded and we had a nice quiet corner. Very strange to be in a pub with a group of 7!

No plans today apart from some wardrobe sorting out. And quiz tonight.

            Happy Monday everyone.

              Good to see you Enfys!
I have had few headachy and generally not feeling well spells over the last few days, which with paracetamol and rest do wear off. Strange bugs about as you say.

Enfys - it's lovely to hear from you. I think you could be right about men finding it harder to pick up the pieces and carry on. Most women have a structure of things they always do (I hate to say it's probably mostly domestic chores) and are used to networking and maintaining social links. I'm sorry you've had one of the lurgies that are doing the rounds.

It was a lovely day for a walk yesterday, and you'd be worried if Dexter didn't find the best mud! How is Cooper settling down?

Gem - glad you enjoyed your evening out. There are things that still seem strange, aren't there. I've only been in a pub for a meal so far. Good luck with the wardrobe sorting out.

                  Didn't get any Cardigans , everywhere its Jumpers , I don't wear Jumpers .
Did buy some cream tea scones though

Enfys does Cooper snore loudly he sounds quite at home ,
lots of tummy bugs up this end going around .

Gem going into pubs is strange when you haven't been for so long ,
                  Helps when its quiet .

Daisy I still think you should ask at the pharmacy about your arm ,
I know how debilitating a painful shoulder and arm is ,
The pain I had with my Frozen shoulder and upper arm was awful,
Even a year on im still having some trouble , although nothing at all as bad as it was .
Please consider getting some help it sounds so painful , Gentle hugs xxxx

Good Morning everyone another dull day here and drizzly rain so no laundry going out on the line today.

I'm glad to see everything is back to normal I was a wee bit worried I had done something wrong here but hey-ho all sorted now.

I had another good sleep last night and feel so much better than I did last week so many people seem to have come down with this bug and the thing is I am not socializing with too many people and wear my mask when I am out and about I was wondering if it was an after effect from my flu jab

Oma did you find a cardigan ? I have three in my wardrobe one I bought from the animal rescue charity which still had labels on it was from Damart in a pale lilac it has been a staple for a couple of years now from M&S in lambswool so very cosy indeed.

Next week-end my DD has invited me to Liverpool to have a meet-up with her maybe future MIL &SIL she want's her mum with her as her wingman I think as the MIL (to be) is very domineering in her views DD can hold her own but she feels she needs me with her I think they want to discuss who goes where for Christmas and New Year celebrations ,Oma she sounds like your MIL and always wants her own way with arrangements.

I was due to go next week and have my booster Covid jab but will put it off for a week until I feel 100% just in case I have any reaction to it,I was fine with the other two but don't fancy taking any risks with me being poorly last week.

I'm off now to do a wee bit of polishing and dusting and hang washing on maiden as it is still raining a bit so bye for now and all keep well xx

Good morning, quite a few posts to catch up on. Nanto, enjoy the gardening. Enfys, you could be right about it being more difficult for a man after a bereavement. It would help his DS's as well if he improved. I hope you have recovered now from the bug.

Oma, I hope you find the cardigan today.

Yes Gem, the darker days won't help my BIL any. It is 20 years ago tomorrow that my DH died, doesn't time soon go?? Good luck with sorting the clothes out, I was sorting coats etc and found a nice warm one for my neighbour, the one with the face cancer, if I see her I will ask her if she wants it, otherwise, charity shop!

Daisy, women do seem to keep themselves more occupied in their homes etc.

It is a lovely day, I have been to a shop in the next village, on my shopping bike. I want to get a bike ride in this afternoon.

Sorry to be a late participant, but I was feeling a bit unsettled when I got up as I tried to ring my sister yesterday early evening but no reply, very worrying as she never goes out, she is 93 and lives on her own. I managed to find out she was in hospital as her breathing was so bad. Paramedics, after they had cooked her shepherds pie, decided to take her to the General Hospital. They didn’t keep her in, did loads of tests and she got back home at 12.30. My sister lost one son some years ago and her Dil cleans for her and keeps an eye on her. Her other son lives in Thailand and hasn’t been able to get home due to Covid but isn’t good at keeping in touch anyway. Fortunately she has an extremely good neighbour.
I have also been contacted by as pharmacist from my surgery suggesting I might like to change my anti-blood clotting tablet to the new one which means I don’t have to go to the clinic every four weeks He has phoned me twice. I have an appt. at the surgery for the doctor to look at the itchy spots again. PHEW.

Lizzie, sorry to hear your Bil is still not dealing with your sister’s death very well. I hope he will get back to his activities, he would feel so much better.

Nanto, take care you don’t overdo the gardening.

Glamm, I hope the meeting with your DD’s future Mil goes well

Daisy pleased to hear you are resting your arm, is the pain in the joint or the forearm?

Enfys, lovely to hear from you, I wish I had a dog to curl up and even snore. No pets in our family atm, I think Sil will want another dog when he retires in January.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

AS well as DD arriving yesterday she brought doggo with her which was a lovely surprise! Not such a nice surprise when he woke me at 3 o'clock full of beans wanting to go out. Got downstairs and opened the door and off he went. Next thing is DD calling down that he'd already been out! he wasn't keen on coming back in, had to shake the treats bag before he decided treats were better than staring at the moon! DD gone to se OH, so we've had a little wander down the street just to let the other dogs know that he's back!!!

Went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and some Covid test kits. Can't get the kits unless you download the App and get a code number. Couldn't remember my log in/password for the NHS, so will do it later today. What a palaver. I wonder how many people have stopped home testing because of all this red tape. It's hardly as if you're going to sell them on the black market is it?

Not sure what the rest of the day holds. Woke up with a sore throat but got an antibacterial spray and some Strepsils at the pharmacy, so hopefully they'll help.

Daisy hope your arm soon gets easier, Lizzie hope your BiL finds something to occupy his time. When my Mum died , my dad was still working and his customers made sure he was OK. He used to take rhubarb from his garden to the bakers and when they made rhubarb tarts, they always gave him one! Mum used to make lovely rhubarb tarts and although he did start baking fairy cakes, pastry was beyond him.

                            Take care everyone else xx

Oh Plant I understand how worried you must have been about your dear sister. I'm glad she was allowed home.
WG, I order my lateral flow tests online. As soon as we start a new box I order another and it always arrives through the post the following day. I hope your throat feels better soon.
