Quite chilly here in Devon, we are going on a boat trip on the river Exe and then on to Sidmouth. We were in the coach a long time yesterday, not so long today. J and I spent part of our honeymoon in 1959 in this area and I saw the guest house we stayed in in Lynton yesterday and it didn’t look any different. That was yesterday, didn’t have time to post it. Today we have been on a river cruise on the river Exe, it was very wet but later the sun came out for us to walk around and have lunch in Sidmouth. We are having a quiz this evening which I am hopeless at but have recruited some ladies to join us. These early starts are a bit killing but I am now going to have a lie on the bed.

It has been warm here again, a slight thunder storm as I went for the bus at 11am but hardly any rain. There is a really good bus service on the island, one every 30 minutes.

I had a walk round the town had a lunch then came back and got on the bike, my legs are better to cycle with then walk😟

Plant, you will be enjoying your few days away but it will be tiring, it is not what you are used to.

I will catch up n the rest of the news when I get home tomorrow.

        Safe journey home tomorrow Lizzie.
Early mornings are tiring when we are not used to them Plant! Good luck for the quiz.

Well after a day of rain yesterday it was lovely to see the sun today even if it was only briefly! Just as I got to the bus shelter to catch the bus into town, down came the rain again!
I have velux windows in my bedroom and the noise of the rain woke me up in the middle of the night!

have been for a hearing test and I need to go back for a longer test. Both ears show the same deterioration!!

Had a nice wander round the shops while I was waiting to go to my appointment. Bought some food in Marks, a couple of books in Waterstones and had a coffee and watched the world go by! back home now, GS been and picked up his cricket stuff and is off to practice and will be back at some point for dinner. Chicken curry tonight which he seems quite happy about.

Had a strange call this morning. Lady asked if I was Mrs Ridgley. I said no so she asked who I was. I said I'm not Mrs Ridgley! Was i the lady of the house because it was about my BT bill. I told her she'd obviously got the wrong person and said Good Bye. Obviously another new scam!

Plant, I love Lynton and Lynmouth. There is a wonderful craft market in a converted church in Lynmouth. I also like Sidmouth. Hope the rest of the trip isn't too tiring.

Hope everyone is well. Have a good evening x

Plant, you'll be looking forward to a lie in when you get home.

Lizzie nice photos. Have a safe journey home tomorrow.

Nanto - I like today, too. Unfortunately I don't like doing the actual work that ends in "tidy"!! I need a tidy fairy!

Gem - I do hope S gets a chance to play on the new course soon. Is this part of the club where she usually plays?

Lizzie - the town looks interesting. Quite a lot of history, I should imagine. I hope your legs don't ache after today.

Plant - good that the sun came out in time for your walk round Sidmouth. It's a lovely area, isn't it. I hope the rest revived you and the quiz has been better than you thought.

WeeGranny - you need ear plugs to block out the sounds of the rain on the Velux windows! I've just had my hearing re-tested. I had to see a different audiologist for an extra test to see if I was suitable for in-ear aids. The ones that go behind your ears keep falling off. I've kept saying I need bigger ears, and it's official - they don't have enough room behind them for hearing aids, let alone glasses and a face mask!! I hope there isn't too much deterioration in your hearing. How did the chicken curry go down with your GS? It must be lovely having him so near. I love browsing round Waterstones! How is your wrist? Have you decided on colours for decorating yet?

I've earned my Brownies' Ironing Badge today!! There's still some odds and ends lurking around, but most if it's done. OH got a bargain in the garden centre. It's a huge hardy fuchsia reduced from £27 to £12. A couple of leaves have got crumpled, but otherwise it looks fine, lots of flowers and loads of buds. I shall send him garden shopping again! He kindly put my car through the car wash (much needed) but it's now covered in mud splashes from having to drive through road works.

Sun is shining.I think its a good forecast for today.
Washing is nearly finished, that will be going out on the line.
I want to make some pancakes for the freezer.
Hubby has asked for chips, beans and fried egg for dinner, one of his favourites.
We certainly know how to live.

Daisy, well done for earning the Brownie ironing points.
OH got a bargain there with the fuchsia. I think they are one of the nicest plants.

                  Good morning everyone.

Nan2, sometimes simple meals like that are the best! Sun shining here too.

WG and Daisy, my OH has to go back for the longer hearing test - but has been waiting since last year. I want her to go private bit she's insisting on waiting.

Good bargain with that fuchsia Daisy.

As it is Tuesday it is library this morning, school pick up this afternoon. GS1 wants me to see the new guinea pigs so I will be taking him home after tea rather than SIL collecting him. Our next door neighbours are coming round for while this evening. They will be feeding our cat when we are away,as it is only two nights. We need to show them where the food is kept and so on.

                  Have a good day

                      Morning Oma.
Yes, last night was wonderful! Cheek-hurting laughter, and so nice to have company as I was on my own last time I saw this show.
Yes, golf for OH today, on their own course.

Good mroning. Just a quick 'hello' from me at the moment. GD1 should have been coming here for the day, but she wasn't well again yesterday, so I'm just waiting to find out whether Eva and I go over there (Eva keeps Cooper company and their antics make GD laugh) or whether she needs a quiet day with no visitors today. Back later.

Daisy DD is loving her job , best thing she has done , working conditions are so much better and she has not half the stress she had with SS ,
In fact she wishes she had done this 5 years ago when they first head hunted her 😁

Oma - that is really good, and you must be so relieved that she isn't as stressed, and presumably is safer, too.

In the end, I went over to GD's with Eva. She was starting to feel a bit better but has to be so careful not to overdo things. We knitted and nattered - she is still making her first scrunchie and I started making a little knitted heart ready for stuffing! I got in a bit of a muddle with M1,K1 so it looks, shall we say, "rustic"!! I managed to keep the right number of stitches on the needles though!

DS2 made us delicious omelettes for lunch and Eva and Cooper tired each other out running round the garden and playing ball.

                            It's been a beautiful day!

I am home and unpacked etc, I had a really good few days away.

My neighbour has just been with pasta sauce she made, that was my dinner settled!

I have been bitten by a ??????, maybe horse fly, I have just taken my tights off and it is really red , swollen and painful. I will have to phone the surgery in the morning as with the Lipedema we have to keep our eyes open for infections.

I got call from the hospital about the doctor phoning me with the results of the scan, I told her he isn't phoning me, I had an appointment here in the village this afternoon, she looked it up and said "oh yes, I see it was cancelled and you have received a letter". Which I haven't, I wasn't very pleased, she said I could go to Delft tomorrow and they would fit me in, it is too warm for me and it will be very busy so I said I would rather go here in the village as planned, she sorted it out and I now have an appointment at the same time next Tuesday.

Lizzie, I am envious of your health system! I had an MRI scan at the end of March ( last one was in 2019, but nothing since then because of Covid) and last week I had a message to say a telephone appointment has been arranged for the 30th June! And to make sure I am near a phone one hour before and after the appointment time. Hope your bite isn't anything nasty. I remember the mosquitoes when we lived there, they were especially fond of DD and we had to get her one of those blue light thingies to kill them Poor child used to wake up in a dreadful state with bites.

It has been a glorious day here, but now it's started to rain! I went and got my hair cut and I feel and look so much better. The eyebrow I landed on is still swollen, so it looks as if one eye is bigger than the other!

Daisy, hope GD1 soon feels a bit better. You'll be tackling Fair Isle patterns if you keep up your knitting!

Hope everyone is well. Have a good evening x
