Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.
I just wanted to check in and will read back and catch up later today. As DD3 went to see my mum on Saturday, I will go later in the week rather than today. It gives me more time to recover from jetlag, and less chance of passing on my germs. I do feel lot better but still coughing a bit, and my tongue is still very sore on one side!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Very sad for you all Oma, still unbelievable that such a fit man should have been so ill. I could do with an MOT.
Bowls for me this afternoon, so I am not going to do too much this morning, just a bit of light cleaning. I have to drop off this list of items prescribed for the psoriasis to my surgery, it is very close to the village hall where I play bowls. I am feeling a bit nervous about the hospital visit on Wed when I see the surgeon who removed the growth from my hand. I have been told it was cancerous but apart from the doctor reading the result to me over the phone, which was double Dutch to me. I wonder if I could get a copy from the doctors, I probably wouldn’t understand it and would worry me more.
Gemin, I hope that cough will disappear now you are back, wise not to see your mother straight away.
I will pop back later. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good Monday morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here - a beautiful day. I'll send some your way, Oma.
Nanto - jobs have a habit of 'cropping up' unfortunately. Don't work too hard.
Gem - it's good to hear you're feeling a lot better, but definitely take it easy to get over that and the jet lag.
Oma - I hope the car passes, and you're getting back to normal. It doesn't seem two years since you lost your amazing brother to Covid. I'm sure your niece was very grateful to be able to have a chat with you when she was feeling so low. Sending hugs to all of you who loved him. xxx
OH got some paint for me to do the little bookcase yesterday. I wanted grey, but the colour of the lid looks more beige, which won't look right at all. I think we might be trekking off to the big B&Q near Southampton to get what I want. The weeds are doing well in the front garden - but their days are numbered. I'll be out there with the hoe sometime today!
WeeGranny - you must be on a countdown now - is moving day Friday? I hope everything is going smoothly for you.

I will do one today, and if negative wont do another until Thursday (when I have to in order to see mum)
Knee etc glad of the rest! Once I started to ice it it did ease it whilst we were away. I should have done that daily from the start.

Hallo everyone, it is much colder here and damp at the moment.
I am pleased you all arrived home OK Gem, you will need a rest to recover from it all!
Oma, thinking of you on the anniversary of the death of your brother.xx
Daisy, I do hope that you get the good colour now for the paint.
It is my DS1 birthday, 54 years old today, also my friends birthday so I have been there for coffee etc, I went to DS1 yesterday afternoon, they go on holiday on Thursday to Gdańsk in Poland. All the schools here have a fortnights May holiday, combining the Kings birthday etc.
I am feeling a lot better, at least the fever has gone, the coughing isn't as bad as it was either. I have been to the gym, 50% to start with! My friends partner was telling me he had the same flu a month ago, he didn't think he could cough as much as he did. They have just been to Madeira for a 10 day holiday.
I hope the car passes Oma, mine has to go on Thursday.

Doesn't time fly, 2 years since your brother died.
Gem, pleased you are feeling better and still testing negative.
The arbour has been put together and it looks good. Hubby gave it a bit of tlc.
Will post a before and after picture when it has been painted.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Plant - sorry, I wasn't ignoring you - you posted while I was typing! How did the bowl go this afternoon. It might be better to get the doctor to write down what was wrong with your hand. Even if it's all gobbledegook there will be someone who can explain in terms that we non-medics can understand.
Lizzie - I'm pleased you're on the mend and getting back to the gym. Wise to start carefully. I hope your DS1 and your friend enjoy their birthday. It doesn't seem possible that our children should be so old, when we are still youngsters!
Nanto - the arbour sounds lovely, and I look forward to seeing the before and after pics.
OH did the bookcase in the end. Even though the colour was called something like Wild Thyme, it was in fact a lovely gentle shade of grey. But it will need another coat and the spray can only did the one. Our neighbours happened to be going to the big B&Q so they said they'd get us some more. I got the front garden weeded this afternoon, but OH was prevented from cleaning the outside of the caravan - for a very unexpected reason. I've made a separate thread about it.
It's time I thought about food - us and Eva! I've got two slices of the salmon and asparagus terrine I made, so I'll do that with a salad, with the last two slices of pineapple tatin to follow.
Gem - glad to hear the aches and pains are feeling a bit better. I bet your mum is watching the snooker!

Oma, a sad day with your brothers passing date. Good news about the MOT.
Looking forward to the arbour pics Nan2.
Daisy sadly mum doesn't watch snooker or any TV any more. or even listen to audio books. Her concentration and interest are long gone
Wild thyme sounds a nice colour.
I'm glad you are starting to feel better Lizzie,
Well I managed to sort my photos (ours and family ones) into an album of my laptop, and posted some on FB. We have also watched all the Emmerdale we missed and have begun on Corrie!
I haven't unpacked much yet, so that will begin properly tomorrow.
I had an online chat with someone at Amazon about my Kindle Paperwhite (bought in March) which annoyingly gave up two days before we left Florida. I am to post it back and they will send me a new one.
I also had a video chat with GS1 this afternoon. Poor boy started to feel sick in the night and was sick several times this morning, so no school today. He looked worn out and was feeling a bit sorry for himself, and missing Grandma!
Fish and chips for tea tonight. To say we were in Florida for two weeks we hardly had any chips!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oh poor E hope it’s just jet lag with him ,
the photos are great I enjoyed scrolling through them 😁
Daisy the book case sounds lovely , kind of the neighbours to get the paint for you,
Plant try not to worry and do as Daisy said ask them to write it down for you then you can read it in your own time and understand it better ,
Sometimes we don’t remember everything that’s said in appointments .
lizzie take it slowly you don’t want a relapse .
I have felt tired today , I managed the ironing this morning and hosed down the path in the back garden after lunch but that’s it ,
Waste of time really as we are having the cavity walls insulated tomorrow and they will be drilling holes making lots of mess .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Gem, hope GS is feeling better soon.
I haven't updated about GD1 and the baby for a while.
A month ago when she had her scan they said his femur was 2 weeks behind.
She had another scan today and now they say he is underweight and his legs are still short.
They are going to do scans every 2 weeks now.
Because of his kidney problems that i told you about before, they think he will need to be delivered at 38 weeks.
These things make you feel so helpless. Allwe can try to do is keep up the spirits for his mum and dad.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
