Starting to really warm up now. It was difficult to keep the GGC amused yesterday, trying to keep them in. Curtains drawn and they enjoyed playing with a huge box of Lego. They were suncreamed up and went into a paddling pool in the shade. GGS is a real pickle but his daddy was here to take the strain off DD and Sil. I just popped in as I am still not feeling up to coping with energetic little ones.

Gemini, a cream donut and a bunch of sweet peas, what more could please your mum more.

Oma, Storm needs some snow to enjoy, this weather must be tiring for him. Do you have a thyroid problem as that can affect the hair.

Nanto have a lovely lunch in Pontefract, it must still seem strange to not have your in-laws to look after and a sad too.

Daisy, that was a long walk, I am sure it was very pleasant at that time of the morning. Like you, I have some unfinished work, that Christmas runner is still not finished.

Good morning everyone, I am coping Oma, thanks, that is about all!!

      Where is WeeGranny???

Warmer here than yesterday, the same tomorrow then all going as planned could get cooler next week.

It is warm on the balcony and doesn't seem to cool off at all. I did go to the Lidl etc at 7am then managed a bike ride round a lake, it isn't too far and I was home before the full heat hit me!

I had one of my Parathyroids out if you remember two years ago and every blood test I have they test but it’s always ok
I have had recurring thrush for months or what I think is thrush but when I have researched it it could be a Hormone problem as it can cause thrush like symptoms and thinning hair . Hopefully Dr can sort it .

Feeling under the weather isn’t good for being around energetic toddlers and babies especially when it’s this hot .
Are you eating and sleeping ok ?

        Lizzie
I was thinking about WG too , seen her on FB though so she’s ok 😁

        Daisy
I think Eva’s long walk would be enough for the day at least she’s had a good sniff and explore in the forest .
DD had Storm out just after 6 this morning .

DD just been wanted her Dad to go to B&Q with her she needed him to show her what stuff she needed to seal the edges of the new summer house , not sure what edges but he knew what she meant

No matter how old they are they still need Dads advice 😁

          Good afternoon all.
I’ve been glancing in lately but the last few weeks have been so eventful I’ve lapsed in posting.

A couple of weeks ago I had to have a new terminal fitted on the vent from the gas fire.Apparently the original had disappeared probably in those high winds we had! I had to wait until an engineer who could use a roof ladder was located. He had to come from over an hours drive away to get here!

Next day I had a new boiler fitted. Not just a replacement but a complete change of location, involving floor boards in the bathroom bedroom and landing being lifted! Prior to this DS and I had to empty and move wardrobes etc. We had no water from 8am to 5am😀We daren’t drink too much though I know my neighbour would have loaned her facilities if desperate 😀The engineers were here for two days. Everything is now controlled by “Hive” on my phone. It’ll take me a while to get used to. I’m not the best at technology 🙁Of course we had to put all furniture and wardrobes back which has forced me to have a clear out!

Last week I had a hospital appointment. I’ve got to have a scan and then see the Consultant again in four weeks. He seems to think the time has come to probably start treatment ie Chemo. It won’t be a cure but hopefully might slow things down. ( For those who don’t know I have Non- Hodgkin’s Lymphoma )I’m simply dreading it.

Last weekend DS1 had to go to A and E with Atrial Fibrillation. He had to be “shocked” to get his heart back in rhythm.I was in a panic as I couldn’t get hold of him or his partner so knew something was wrong. I didn’t know what to do but eventually his partner rang me. This came completely out of the blue as he’s never had a hint of a heart problem. Hopefully it was just” one of those things”
So what with one thing and another I’ve had a few things on my mind!

I know some of you aren’t feeling the best so I do hope things improve for you very soon.

Clover, lovely to hear from you. You have been busy, the new water and heating system sounds very technical, never hear of Hive. Sorry to hear the doctors are considering stating Chemo but you have to take their advice. What a shock for you to hear your son was in A&E with Atrial Fibrillation, must have been quite bad to have to shock his heart back into rhythm. Take care and keep in touch

Clover, you have had a lot going on, good luck with the chemo.xxx Have you been having other treatment? I had a panic 4 years ago now with DS1 so I know how you felt!

I have been busy with plants on the balcony, I had to do something to keep me occupied. It looks much neater now, I painted the plant (side) table, that looks like new. Sadly I don't look like new, in fact, I am going to have a shower and clean myself up!

I haven’t seen or heard from WG but as you say she has posted in Facebook. I have driven past her house a couple of times and wonder how the work she planned to have done was coming along.

Oma, that’s nice that B can offer advice to your DD. Did they have a lovely time at the wedding, loved the pic. A very handsome couple.

I have plums coming out of my ears, as they say. I need to go and give the tree a shake but I don’t know what to do with them, who wants crumbles and pies in this heat and I don’t feel up to cooking anyway. I still have some plums in the freezer from last year. The deer come in and eat the ones on the floor. There are not too many victorias as the tree has lost a bough again. I dare not eat them, tummy still not quite right.

They had a lovely time at wedding then yesterday they hired a boat on the river and spent a few hours sailing 😁

                  Clover
As you know B had the same , chemo isn’t great but if it works for you you must consider it ,
You may be offered the tablet form , less intrusive , fingers crossed .
Its been all go in your house don’t envy you all the upheaval though ,
Is your DS ok now ?

                  Lizzie
must be the weather for painting
B decided to sand my dressing table down and repaint it today ,
Thankfully he did the sanding in the shed so no mess indoors 😁
Are you pleased with your table ?

Good evening ladies. Another hot day. We will all miss this once we are in dull, cold, damp, dark winter

Our friend brought some plums today Plant. They are delicious. We love them, but like you I have to be careful how many I eat. I hope your tummy settles soon xx

I hope the GC stopped fighting Grauntie

Oma, I hope the Dr can help the hair problem.

Clover, I can imagine how shocked and upset you were about your son, I hope as you say it was just a one off. With so much going on for you, no wonder its hard to find the time or inclination for posting here xx

Lizzie, you are very wise to be out and back early in this heat.

                    Did you paint, Daisy?

I have noticed WG on FB too. I'm sure she will be along here before too long!

A relaxing day here. I hung a wash load out this morning and did a little light gardening, then watched an episode of Rosemary and Thyme.
After lunch our friend came and we chatted and drank cool drinks in the garden for a couple of hours. When she left OH and I had a cuppa and two games of Scrabble outside. Not a taxing day as you can see .

Clover, what a time you have had. Hope you aren't too poorly with the chemo.
It's a case of being cruel to be kind.
Hope it was just one of those things for your son.

We had a good day in Pontefract.
Daisy,we had dinner at our favourite cafe there.

Oma,if its an hormonal thing,i'm sure the doctor will be able to sort you out.

Clover, I know you've been half expecting the specialist to suggest chemo, and hopefully it will be in tablet form and there will be minimum side effects. There seem to be many conditions which can't be cured as such, but treatment makes them manageable and slows down any possible progression. I hope you don't have to travel too far for your hospital visits, but if possible I hope you can make use of a patient transport help scheme so you don't have to worry about the journey. What a shock, your DS1 having to go to A&E like that. Thank goodness his partner rang and explained. I do hope it was a one-off situation. You've certainly had your hands full with the gas vent and a new boiler, but at least all that is done and in place before we head into cold weather. If there is a bonus in all this, it's getting some sorting out done.

Oma - I hope you've found the answer to the 'thrush' like symptoms and the thinning hair. Are you pleased with your 'new' dressing table?

Lizzie - well done - that table looks lovely and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Plant - you too. I hope you're feeling better. Cooking in this hot weather isn't great is it. I'm sure if you put your excess plums in a basket outside the front gate they would find homes very quickly.

Perhaps WeeGranny has just been busy. If she's having the work done on her house I hope it's going well.

Nanto - at least if you go to a favourite restaurant you know you will be well looked-after.

Gem - what a lovely relaxing day. It was too hot to even sit in the shade here - 32C just after lunch. It's turned 11 o'clock and it's still 23C.

It's finally dawned on me that this hot weather calls for a change in routine. As I said earlier I took Eva out very early. I did a few odd jobs and some painting before lunch. After a late lunch I had a siesta, then got up, had a cool shower and felt fine. It was still hot but ok. I cooked dinner for tonight and tomorrow (a friend is visiting, and I don't want to have to cook a meal in the heat of the early afternoon). Now it's bedtime again! Still stifling hot upstairs though.
