I've been wondering about WG as well.

Mimi, hope your poorly family members are on the mend soon.

Daisy, hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow.

Gem, enjoy your last day and have a safe journey home.

We've had a good day. Hubby still working on the arbour. Needs a lot of TLC.
The sun came out eentually. Been nice in the garden in the sun, just had a cuppa and cake.

Gem - however you spend your last day in Florida I'm sure you will enjoy it. Thank goodness you had a better night. Have you got plenty of supplies like decongestant, throat sweets etc for the journey home.

I've done some cooking for DS2's birthday tomorrow - a tomato, mozzarella, olive and basil tart, a salmon and asparagus terrine, flapjacks, pineapple tartin and a banana cake. I'll make the sticky stuff for barbecued spare ribs later, and generally get a few things ready. I also swept the patio and cut the lawn! OH was also busy, and he sorted out the things still dumped in the dining room, hoovered right through the house, ran some errands, cleaned the barbecue and other bits and pieces. We're both shattered now.

        Cloudier this morning.

Daisy, you were busy bee yesterday. Hope the weather plays ball,so you can have a BBQ.

We are going to the farm shop this morning. Will have a look round and have coffee there.
Then it will be on to the garden centre, will have dinner there.
Last port of call will be the supermarket.

Lizzie, i watched a programme yesterday, that i had recorded earlier in the week.
It was about Queen Beatrix, well when she was queen. It was interesting.

Good morning everyone, Daisy, if the weather is the same with you as here the BBQ will be a success.

I am feeling better, not 100% and no energy as yet. At least the fever has gone and I am sleeping well.

Nan, it would be nice watching Queen Beatrix, it really broke her when her son got killed in the avalanche.

I have a Too Good to go box to pick up, different this time, a bramble grower! I have no idea how many I will get so have to wait and see, I do cycle past the growers regularly so will now see what they are like.

Daisy, goodness me what a lot of cooking, it all sounds delicious, now all you need is sunshine. Have a lovely time.

Lizzie, pleased to hear you are feeling better, take it easy.

Nanto, enjoy your day out with OH.

Strange happenings here. I have an old pair of leather slippers that I keep outside my french window, under cover, to slip on to walk in the garden. My Sil found one in the garden, obviously carried by some animal but strange that the back had been chewed. I wonder who it was? A rat is my guess. We get deer in the garden but I don’t suspect them. A fox perhaps. Why would they chew my slipper.

I spoke to WG on messenger yesterday, she is recovering from her fall and very busy getting ready to move next week. I drove past her new abode on Wed and would you believe it, it backs onto my GS and family’s garden. I didn’t realise she had her wrist in a splint.

              Good Saturday morning everyone.

Just a quick hello from me - waiting to hear who if any are coming today - GD2 had a headache all day yesterday and then was sick last night. I do hope she's ok. We obviously don't want to risk her passing any bugs on to DS1, so really hope she is ok.

If the whole day is cancelled I'll need you all to call round and eat up stacks of food.

Plant - I bet it was a fox. Perhaps the leather made it think it was edible! Hopefully not a rat.

Poor WG, she must be run off her feet getting ready to move. It's busy and hard enough at any time without all she's been through and having her arm in a splint. If you're in touch again, please give her our love and say we all wish her well. What a small world - her new home backing onto your GS's garden.

Gem - enjoy the last bit of your holiday. Can you check your luggage in at one of the Parks so you don't have to think about it again?

I got my box, very good as well, the berries are really good, I will put them in the freezer as I love them in my quark etc, it was a very friendly young man that helped me, as, although I have the bags on the bike I didn't think to take plastic carrier bags with me, I will know better next time. It was very windy whilst out, I even got my tomatoes from the grower, almost had nasty fall as well, I don't like jackets that catch under the bike saddle, I do try and get them with a 2 way zip, this one hasn't and I never thought about it until I wanted to get off and the jacket was caught under the saddle, oh dear, I had stopped next to a new BMW, if I had fallen it would have been on the bonnet of the car. Luckily I managed to slowly move so I could get off, how I did I do not know, now I leave the zip open and just use the press studs!

I have taken some berries and tomatoes to my neighbour and came home with hot peppers! We do swop around between us.

Plant, I hope it wasn't a rat eating your slipper, I hate the things!

Daisy, I hope your visitors are all well enough to visit.

Oma, you do spoil your MIL!xxx

                    Good morning to all 😊

We have to be at the airport by around 3pm, so will go straight from here.
That gives us a morning to pack and enjoy last swims. Lunch will consist of all we have left!

I am not going to do a covid test today. Then I can honestly say that I have tested negative ( which I was yesterday) I have no choice but to fly home today. I will test once home and of course if I was positive would isolate then.

Have a good day everyone, and I hope the party goes well and your GD is better Daisy.

Good Morning everyone,Gems I hope everything runs smoothly for you and you have lots of throat sweets to ease the pain in your throat.
Daisy reading about your busy day wore me out I would have been totally worn out.

I am doing nothing today I usually meet my friend for coffee on a Saturday but this week she is off to visit her Aunt who is 95 and celebrating her birthday in a local restaurant she has not seen her Aunt since before lockdown so a wee bit of catching up to do there I think.

My little DGD came here on Thursday and brought her dolly and pram with her poor eldest son always ends up pushing it back home but she insists on bringing dolly with her we never went out for brunch just stayed in the garden and made a quick picnic for her and dolly.

Must be going as I'm going to watch some catch up on TV I'm all behind on some of the series I am watching a series called Compulsion just on episode 3 and it looks quite good.

                      Talk soon xx glamma xx

Thanks Glamma. We shall be catching up with a lot of TV when we arrive back and are getting over jetlag 😄

We have all enjoyed the pool and hot tub for the last time this morning. Showers, packing and lunch next then head to the airport this afternoon.
We have had a wonderful time and feel so lucky it finally happened.
I will write a holiday journal next week.

It may be Sunday evening UK time before I log in again. We like a short sleep when we come back from a transatlantic flight, then we have a Tesco delivery between 5 and 6 ( Sunday)

Gem - safe and comfortable journey. So look forward to hearing all about it, but I agree - a short sleep as soon as you get home helps with the jet lag.

Happily GD2 woke up well and raring to go this morning. So the whole family came here, the sun shone most of the time, eventually the wind dropped, and I don't think we've given anyone food poisoning with the food!! It's so great to have them all here together and OH did a good job on the barbecue, and then did most of the clearing up afterwards. I think DS2 enjoyed his birthday, and we certainly did.

I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow - off to bed now. Night, night, folks. x
