Lizzie have a lovely time, you couldn’t go without your bike.

Glamm, good luck to your DD. Lovely for you to have your friend staying for a few days, lots to talk about.

Gemini, shame you are not able to take GS1 to Filey.

Had my haircut, just a trim, it does feel much better although she only took a small amount off. I am lunching at the golf club with my WI friends today. They are trying to keep us all together using the gold club as we are not able to use our usual room at the Sports and Social Club. Spent some time yesterday with GD1 and baby H. H was very fractious, I think her teeth were worrying her. GD said this morning that she took a long time to calm down and settle.

Lizzie, have a good time and safe journey.

Oma, can't wait until everything is put back in order.
            Roll on tomorrow.

Gem, a pity you can't take GS1 to Filey.
I do feel sorry for him.

Plant, hope baby H has settled a bit now.
I always feel better when i've had a trim.

            Glamma, fingers crossed for DD.

I was just about to post on here earlier when DIL1 phoned with a query about something, then we had breakfast and OH has gone to a friend's to do some wood turning, then a couple more phone calls. In between I managed to get a load of towels in the wash, and just got back online!

Yesterday was also bitty but we had a nice day with the GDs even though GD2 was tired. When she's tired she 'loses' her words and can't concentrate on anything, but she and I had promised her mum we'd make a cake for her other gran's birthday today. OH suggested GD1 might like to come and help him with something he was making in the shed - she was very pleased! So the cake wasn't great, and not helped by me taking a bit of the mixture to make 4 cupcakes for the girls to take home. OH came with me to take them back because he hadn't seen their new windows and doors. It was quite late when we got back so just time for a quick meal and an early-ish night.

It's dull and rather cool here today.

Glamm, you are a kind lady, cleaning up Jim's house for him. I hope they aren't bad breaks and he's soon home again. He'll be missing your Sunday roasts! A new kitten in the family sounds lovely. I hope he's as good as your Ollie. I do hope your friends gets the bungalow - it would be lovely to have her close by and it sounds as though she needs to be living without stairs. I hope you get your nails done - are they going to be pink again? About the heat pads - I think they are good, depending on what the problem is. I'm not sure about this but if it's something like muscle sprain the heat pads are helpful. But if it's inflammation ice packs are better. Do any other grannies know for sure, please? Good luck to DD for that job. I had to smile at your John's skill in using the wall paper so cleverly.

WeeGranny - thank goodness your surgery is being more helpful. With everything that's going on you don't need people who should be helping you to be obstructive like the surgery has been. I do hope OH's blood tests show some improvement - no wonder he's getting depressed when there's so much to cope with, poor man.

Nanto - this time tomorrow it will all be happening in your living room! It will be a busy day for you, I'm sure.

Lizzie - safe journey, and have a lovely time. I hope the weather is kind to you. x

Oma - you couldn't make it up could you! No equipment to take proper blood samples to test blood sugar for a diabetic. It sounds from what WG says that it's shortages of basic equipment all round. I know a lot of hi-tech equipment was 'loaned' for Covid (my DS1 had to wait for a particular test because the equipment was still assigned to Covid patients) but surely by now things should be reallocated to their normal uses, especially for important tests like that. How frustrating that you can't understand her. It's so much harder on the phone as well. I wonder if she's also wearing a mask or is she working from home?

Gem - I think you are right to be sad and disappointed about GS1 not being able to go to your Filey day. It's so special for you all and as an 'only' his cousins take a much greater importance in his life (in my opinion). Also it's building the memories - a day at a holiday club will soon be forgotten while the tradition of your Filey Day will stay with him for ever. Sending hugs. xx

Plant - I'm glad you feel better after your trim, especially with your recent tummy upset. Poor little H. I hope the tooth comes through quickly. You do feel so sorry for them. Your WI are doing well being creative in finding ways for you all to meet up. I hope you enjoy your lunch.

I'm off to get lunch for us - I'm cooking now rather than tonight because OH and a friend are going to the speedway in Poole this evening and they'll have to leave quite early.

What a day! If I miss the posts I am sorry, the journey went well, I had been in touch with the couple here and I could park my car and go for a bike ride. At the first roundabout I heard aloud crack, carried on but difficult cycling, the frame had broken completely in two! I walked to a garage car sales room and asked if I could use the toilets, I was shaking from the shock, the man was so good, got me coffee etc, sat me down, took some photos and said he had never seen anything like it.

I got in touch with the dealer and the girl, once I got a human on the phone, was very understanding. I had to send photos and they would be in touch, I thanked the man and walked back to the B&B, the couple arrived home and are so friendly, they have invited me for a meal tonight. A lovely B&B, separate building to the house, I got settled in and got a message that my case was being looked into, not much later I got a call and mail from the friendly girl, can go to the dealer and choose a new bike out, I could go to one near here but will do that next week. I think I may have a wait but will see, I have hired one from the next village for 3 days, it i# the same make but with a middle motor, I had DS2 on th phone and I was saying I will see how is rides and maybe choose one, he had read they were safer so I shall see how it goes. DS1 and family arrive tomorrow, they have been n touch all afternoon to see how I am

I am fine now but it made me shake.

Lizzie - what an awful scare for you. Thank goodness you were able to get it sorted out, and I hope your hire bike is comfortable and easy to ride.

I hope tomorrow is a better one for you Lizzie!

Another busy library afternoon. DD and GS1 came in for him to get his medal and certificate for completing the Reading Challenge.

DD2 dropped the children off in time for tea. Both are asleep now. Well I'm not sure GD is, but she's in bed at least .
We are out after breakfast tomorrow with our friends, so I may not check in until later in the day.

Good morning Lizzie and all who follow.
No wonder it shook you up, hope you are ok now.

We've had rain during the night.

Gem, have a lovely trip to Filey. We haven't been there for years.

Nephew will be here at 9 to do the decorating.
