Good Morning ladies sorry not to have posted for a few days but things have been up the wall here poor old Jim my next door neighbour had a fall on Saturday and has broken his shoulder and his hip he slipped whilst going to sit down on his sofa,I wasn't home at the time as I was meeting up with my friend as I usually do on a Saturday he managed to grab his phone from his coffee table and call his sister who is also housebound and she got in touch with her DD who was visiting her dad in a nursing home so it was a couple of hours before he was found poor man.after he was taken into hospital niece and I have spring cleaned his bungalow again as he had let it go a bit since the last deep clean so I have been up to my eyes in cleaning with the lovely niece we are all done now,but they are keeping Jim in hospital for the time being.

The weather is awful here I thought there was going to be a couple of nice weeks on the horizon according to the weather reports all its done has rained everyday mind it has saved me watering the garden.

I'm still waiting for an appointment for MRI scan to the lower back where those 4 disc's have collasped (sp)i am still using pain killers and those heat pads, has anyone used the pads that you heat in the microwave or are they dangerous ?

I've had a visit from an old neighbour from where I used to live she has applied for the empty bungalow near to me the poor woman has Parkinson's and is in a first floor flat which she finds difficult to manage now her illness is progressing I hope she is lucky enough to be allocated it she is a lovely neighbour one of those that is never intrusive just nice to be near & close by,she may hear about her application middle of next week I do hope she is successful.

I'm off out now to the local shopping centre for some bits & bobs nothing major and to have my nails done after all that housework they look quite distressed at the minute, must decide on a colour before I get in there as they like to get started as soon as you get in may go down the pink route again .
    Take care everyone xxx

Had my phone call she is changing my meds ,
Asked about my Sugar but the Bloods I had done on Friday they hadn't included my Sugar
Considering it was my Diabetic blood tests appointment she just did general bloods ,

Dr's excuse was there is a shortage of Diabetic blood vials so maybe that's why she didn't do it , so why get me in for them then ?

One thing that is still high is some marker that has been showing up for a while ,
she wants me to have a scan and tests as it could be a sign of Leukemia ,
but they have been showing up for 3 years and I don't have any symptoms so I doubt that is the cause

To be honest I can hardly understand her and its even worse by phone so she could have been telling me anything I just had to keep saying sorry can you repeat that and catch what I could .

My Sister said change Drs but everyone I have spoken too say all the surgeries around here are the same cant see a Dr face to face and very few good English speaking Drs , so what do you do ?

Just been looking online and Dr was right there is a Global shortage of Blood testing tubes so lots of tests are bein suspended due to the amount used due to Covid testing

Have put an update in YEO. Just feel like crawling under the covers with a large G&T at the moment!

DD and her OH can't get blood tests done either Oma. Thought she was joking when she said there was a shortage of tubes! She can't get an xray at her dentist's either and SiL is having problems getting a scan for his back. The situation is ridiculous. Hope you can get your bloods under control though.

Glamma, hope Jim makes a good recovery. It was kind of you to clean his bungalow for him, such a thoughtful thing to do.

All the other surgeries in this area are closed to new patients, so we couldn't transfer even if we wanted to.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

WG, you deserve a G and T xx Oma, they like to worry you with these things ☹️ My mum had a similar experience 3 or 4 years ago and refused any further checks. The surgery kept writing and ringing her, and in the end I had write to say she's not coming, leave her alone! She's still fit and well age 93 next month!
Nice to hear from you Glamma. Poor Jim.

DD1 and I had a lovely visit to mum. She was on good form and did remember the seaside trip when prompted. As I was driving DD I went in for a cuppa when I dropped her home. GS is so far enjoying his week long mixed martial arts holiday club.

Glamma, that was kind of you to clean neighbours bungalow.
Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Oma, hope the change of meds sort you out.

Gem, lovely to hear you and DD had a lovely visit with your mum.

Daisy, in laws were fine thank you.

                Good morning everyone.
                Sunshine here too Nan2!

Library for me this afternoon DD is bringing GS1 in for me to award him his Summer Reading Challenge medal, if they can get there between his holiday club ending and the library closing!
GD and GS2 are sleeping at ours tonight, ready for our annual Filey trip tomorrow. We go with our good friends C and P and their younger GC. We have been doing this (apart from last year) since my GD was 3 and their GD1 was 5, and the number of children has grown to six! Sadly only five this time, as GS1 has his holiday club which DD and SIL don't want him to miss. First time with us for GS2

I hope you all have nice day, with some sun!

Up bright and early this morning to the sound of a baby seagull calling for his mum what a racket he/she made must have been very hungry and I leave a full feeding tray for them,we have quite a lot of them roosting on the roofs locally with us being so near the coastline.

I never managed to get to the nail salon the weather turned really nasty and rained the rest of the day instead I stripped off the wallpaper from the hallway it came off very easily and mostly in big pieces what I did find was that when John had put it up 3 yrs ago he must have thought he wouldn't have had enough paper and rather than buy another roll there where all smaller pieces under the large mirror and pictures I have on the walls DD and I laughed about him being a skinflint when she arrived to help me with the last bits she laughed at ways he saved money on some things but spoilt us with other things,

The HA gardener arrived yesterday and cut down the dividing hedge's between me & my neighbours they do the job 4 times a year and this last time the growth has been tremendous they where very surprised at how much it had grown they are a good team and clear up the garden after them they deserved their cup of tea and slice of carrot cake.

Three months ago DD applied for a new job in Liverpool and after the interview she was told she was placed 2nd in their choices for the job and her details would be kept on their files yesterday they phoned her to offer the position with just a final video interview she is seriously considering taking the offer she just wants to know why their first choice did not take up the position,it would be a later start in the morning and easy to get to as the Cross River bus service stops just outside her house and she would not have to work 2 x Saturdays a month plus the salary is far more attractive they are doing the interview today at 4-30pm (fingers crossed for her)

My friend is coming to stay with me again this week-end and we are going to have a wander about the charity shops for material she makes beautiful cushion covers from secondhand material she finds in the shops so we will have a good old wander and have some lunch out somewhere nice she is staying 3 days and going back home on Sunday its so good to have company its a shame I don't have a spare bedroom but she insists she is comfortable on my sofa.

My youngest DGS has collected his baby kitten from the breeders and taken him home now he is a cutie all black and called Hugo he will be spoilt by the others I have given him the little igloo house that Oliver refuses to use and the small scratching post which was a waste of money when Oliver was little he prefers to scratch on the garden fence just outside the back door he has never scratched indoors even when he was a baby such a good boy is my Oliver.

It looks as though the rain has stopped so hopefully I can hang out some towels to blow so will go now and catch up later xxx

Oh a kitten!! I am so jealous of your GS! Sunny and windy here too, so I am going out hand out washing to make the most of it.

Good morning all, I am almost ready to go away, very dull so I do hope it stays dry.

Glamm, I had to laugh at the pieces of wallpaper, I painted the wall and had to really scrape the tin to get the wall finished, I managed it, I could have bought another tin but it would be another tin to sit in the garage.

I hope the kitten settles, my poor friend is having such a hard time with the rag doll. She wanted to put it on a replacing site but all you can ask is €5o so that was a shock for her.

I hope your DD gets the job. Have a nice time with your friend.

Oma, I am sad and a bit cross about GS1 not coming to be honest. OH is missing a golf day to go to Filey tomorrow. This is because DD initially said GS could choose whether or not to miss a day of his holiday club and come with us. The best day for all was Monday but understandably that is not the day to miss of new week-long holiday club, so Thursday was chosen as second best. I mentioned it to GS1 weeks ago, and he said 'It's a family tradition and family comes first' !
However, once we had the family Filey day at the beginning of the school holidays DD has convinced him he has had his Filey day, and we were not to mention the other one! I know he would love this one with his cousins and the other children. I feel sad for him, and feel its unfair.

Oh Gem, , i find that unfair as well. He is old enough now to choose if he wants to go or not.

Oma, my bike is on the carrier and ready to go.

I am going to get going now.
