Plant, we have noticed so many cats going missing recently, and almost all come back. As Oma says we had almost given up on our cat as the days went by .
I'm sure the family's cat will show up. I'm sure they will have done all these things , but local FB pages and posters with a picture on through doors and on trees, lamposts etc are a good idea. We also phoned local vets, RSPCA and Cats Protection with his details in case he was handed in or reported. Come home soon puss!
Hot sunny morning here, heavy rain storm this afternoon!

Ladies, thank you for my Birthday wishes! Didn't do much on the day, but OH and I went for a meal to the pub on the river. It was abeautiful eening so we sat outside and watched the swans and swallows and people in boats while we had our meal.
We went to DD's yesterday and I treated myself to a hair cut. Not much off, but at least it's tidy now! Then I had a wander round the shops in High Wycombe which made a change. Was looking for some shoes for the Golden Wedding, but there are hardly any proper shoe shops around these days, so I ended up with a pair of flat white shoes for everyday when I'm not wearing sandals. Today DD had booked us in for lunch at one of their local pubs and that was most enjoyable! Back home now after a good journey back, very little traffic.
Very heavy downpours through night and during the day and I can hear thunder rumbling around now.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and is ready to face the coming week. I've got DS arriving back next Sunday for goodness knows how long!!!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.
Theodore Roosevelt.
WG you can bet when you don't want the shoes you will see several its Sods law
Sounds like you have had a lovely time then you have your lovely DS coming home to look forward too xxx
WG, did you try Wainwrights in Beaconsfield? HW is a dead loss now, only go for M&S and they have gone down hill a bit. John Lewis too are not too bad for shoes.

Brightened up a bit now,so put a load of lights in to wash.
just done a little sewing job on a pair of hubby's shorts.
I told him to throw them away,he's got plenty more.
But oh no, just put a few stitiches in,they'll last a bit longer.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Just reading through yesterday's Chats posts and it looks as though the weather has kept us all on our toes - guessing! It stopped raining in time for our barbecue yesterday, but was getting quite chilly be 8 o'clock. It was great fun - very relaxed, and I think the birthday girl enjoyed it, which was the main thing. I was quite pleased with her cake - just a jam sponge but I had a roll of fondant icing which made it look more festive, and wrote Happy Birthday and her name on it - rather wobbly, plus some candles.
I was very naughty and left OH and visitors to clear up afterward and I took Eva out for a walk.
Today will probably be quieter. OH has the dentist and then is going to do the photography for the friend I mentioned a couple of days ago. I hope he can manage my camera ok!
Plant - does it seem a little quiet after all the excitement of the wedding? I do hope GD's cat comes home safely. They are such a worry when they go missing.
WeeGranny - I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday and seeing your DD and family. Not long now till GS arrives. Fingers crossed everything goes ok with travel restrictions etc.
Nanto - I think our OHs are clones of each other - mine will never agree that sometimes clothes are just worn out and beyond repair!
Lizzie - those floods looks awful.
Oma - I think you're right about the weather being more extreme.
It's a quieter day for us today. Our visitors will probably go out for a little mooch round , and I'm cooking something easy for dinner tonight.
So hopefully I'll be back later.

OH obviously thinks there is more mileage in those shorts Nan2!
Nice to have DS's visit to look forward to WG.
I hope you are having good time Daisy and not too tiring. Don't worry about updating us! Enjoy your guests and just pop here if you have time.
I have emailed the dentist again and I am waiting to see if they phone me and can fit me in today. I think the socket needs repacking. No other plans today apart from the quiz tonight. My turn to set it and I did it over the weekend.
I hope everyone is well, and Plant's families cat reappears very soon.

Gemini, I hope they are able to see you today at the dentist.
Daisy, you busy lady, after all the restrictions it must seem lovely to be able to have visitors again.
We are all so worried about the cat, GD1 has been posting on the local website, she is so upset. I am going to call on some houses that back onto us, they face the road which is quite busy. We checked again anywhere he might have got shut in sheds etc. Sil went looking in the woods. We hope he might return soon like your Henry Gemini.

Oma, we have a woodpecker in the trees near us, I have only spotted it once from a distance, but, I was on my bike a couple of years ago and saw one, really close, I didn't realise they were that size, by the time I thought to get my camera out he was busy on another tree.
I have a dentists appointment at 2.40. I think I may as well move in there the amount of time I am spending there. It is right next to the Minster so actually a beautiful building to live in!
Plant, the cat may be shut in,or being looked after by someone, or just wandering. Whatever it is I hope he is quickly and safely found xx
