WG, I'm sorry to hear you won't be going to Edinburgh at the moment.
    Decorating looks good Lizzie.
Nothing wrong with magnolia Nan2, and why change the scheme if you are happy with it. I often want to redecorate the same but OH prefers a change!
I have scary dreams Oma, usually involving things like high cliffs or the top of collapsing buildings

Our friend and her brother, who is staying with her for a few days, came for coffee this morning. It was good to see them, and now I have the art work ready for the GC later in the week.
This afternoon I got my mums building society passbook updated and got the address changed on her account. I warned the teller that the book would make depressing viewing once updated! From about 38 thousand down to just over three She, like the rest of us, thinks it is disgraceful that a persons savings and home can all disappear on care.
We then went to Aldi for a few things. I was disgusted by how few customers wore masks in there.
We came home and had a cuppa and game of Scrabble.
The care home manager told me mum had her lunch in the dining room today and spent a couple of hours downstairs, which is lovely.
DD1 and are are going to visit her tomorrow.

Gem, that is a lot of money, like you, I think it is disgraceful. I hope the house sale goes through for you. Thanks, I am pleased with the decorating.

Nice that your mum went down for lunch, she would enjoy it.

As I was saying to the lady in the building society the only good thing is mum is unaware. She doesn't seem to consider how her care is paid for and will presume all her savings are waiting for the family to inherit.

You work and save all your life and then have to sell a home to pay for care is a disgrace ,

Gem, it seems so unfair that all that money has gone on care.

Oma, I agree. The friend who came this morning, their mum put her house into her son and daughters name several years ago. She passed away last year. In the end she didn't go into care, but if she had her property wouldn't have had to be sold to pay for it.

Gem - I think quite a lot of people sign their property over to their children for that reason. I'm sure your mum would be very upset if she knew what was happening to her life savings. It's a mercy that she doesn't. I hope she has some memory of the lovely day at the seaside when you see her tomorrow. Perhaps the day out has made her feel more like joining other residents for a bit of company.

Nanto - at least you can match magnolia up as well! We've got 5 different shades of very light grey in our house, and have no idea which is which if we need to touch bits up! I love that nice clean fresh feel of a newly decorated room.

Lizzie - your decorating looks very nice.

I did get the lawn cut, but no weeding today. But I portioned up some dog food and watered the back garden thoroughly tonight - everywhere was very dry and some plants looked a bit sorry for themselves. I'll hopefully do the front garden tomorrow night.

It's our normal GD and Cooper day tomorrow.

Good morning ladies. Who stole summer?? Brrr, it's chilly!

Your lunch sounds perfect for a cooler day Nan2 (or any day really!)
Maybe just a change of meds is needed Oma? I think our bodies can become resistant to some.

I'm not sure it is raining here now, but it has been and it's cool, wet and dismal!
OH will be playing in an away match today and there is a meal afterwards. So only me to tea tonight. It will be salmon, my favourite.
This afternoon I am going to see my mum. I think DD1 is going with me. If so I am taking her as SIL will need the car to collect GS from his holiday club. However DD has still not replied to my text of Saturday, asking if she was still coming and reminding her to take her lateral flow test first
                      Anyway, I shall be going!

I hope all have a good day today, and the sun comes out for us!

Good morning everyone. It's dull here, but dry. Hopefully we won't need to borrow the Teddies' umbrellas.

Oma - it seems mad that the doctor will only talk about one thing at a time. Doesn't she realise that bodies are a complete whole and various functions might affect each other! What happened to treating the whole patient!

What a pity Storm can't come and join Eva and Cooper for frolics in the garden.

Gem - I hope your mum is well, and your DD hasn't forgotten. Good luck to S in the golf competition.

Nanto - I hope your in laws are ok. Can I pop round for dinner, please?

Must go, or I'll be late picking up the girls. xx

Good morning Oma, what a carry on with the doctor, one thing at a time! We usually have a walk in surgery from 8am to 9am, that is just for the one thing but as for the appointments, then there was more time for us, all different now but we can still get to see the doctor if necessary. One doctor told me, years ago, just by looking at a patient he could see if there was a problem, another would come for us in the surgery then he could see how we stood up, walked etc. I hope they get your BP settled.

It is dull here but dry, not a promising week for me going away, I will see what it is like, if I can get some cycling in and visiting the boat I will be satisfied.

Daisy, enjoy your day with the girls and Gem the visit to your mother.

I am getting really fed up with the change of contacting the surgery, trying to order some tablets but the site tells me they can’t recognise my password, tried to change it but that didn’t work. Hope you get on okay with your telephone appt. Oma.

Hope the visit to your mum goes well Gemini. Enjoy your salmon dinner.

Busy day for you Daisy with your 2 GD’s and Cooper. Are you cooking with your GD today?

No real plans today, I might get in the garden, one or two jobs need doing. We had two fir trees removed as the roots were lifting the tarmac drive. They left a pile of sawdust and roots plus two tree stumps. I have designs of putting some plants in the space but having a job to remove the roots. I have already acquired plants to go there after I have improved the soil. I think a rockery would be easier.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

I hope you get your cycling in Lizzie.
Plant, all that stress of trying to contact surgeries and order things makes us ill!!! Rockery sounds a good idea.
I hope you have good day Daisy.

DD is coming with me this afternoon, no idea why she didn't reply to Saturday's text!

We've had a change of receptionists at our surgery and they do seem more helpful. When I arranged a telephone appointment she gave me a double one as I needed to talk about two problems. However, there's a notice on the village FB page saying not to ring to speak to a doctor today as there's only one in! Hopefully nobody will have an emergency.

Rain here this morning and cold. DS was at gym at 6.30 and his gym stuff has just been washed and in the tumble drier. I got a load done and dried yesterday before the showers started.

Blood tests this afternoon to check if the injections have had any effect. A lump has appeared on his neck, so no doubt that'll be another investigation. For the first time in all of this he's said he's becoming very depressed. I'm not surprised, there just seems to be no end in sight.

Off to put the ironing away and tidy upstairs. Got downstairs done earlier. Went to get the little brush attachment for the hoover, but can't find it anywhere. How can you lose something like that?

Hope everyone has a good day whatever the weather throws at us. Take care ladies xx
