We were up and dressed before both GC!
We have all had breakfast. Our friends will be here in about half an hour, then we will set off for the seaside in two cars.

Good Morning everyone,what a fright you must have had Lizzie so glad the Company sorted things out so quickly it sounds as the people in the B&B are such lovely people.
One of my friends has 2 x ragdolls and he had trouble with the first one until he bought her a companion she was very naughty and caused damage I am surprised the the rehoming centre have such a low rehoming charge they cost such a lot as kittens even your everyday kitten cost £50/80s at the moment when one time it was word of mouth and people just happy for them to be rehomed free to a forever home.

Gemini have a lovely time at Filey I have never been there I too think it is unfair on your little man not being allowed to go one day away from holiday will make no differance at all I'm sure.

Lizzie yes I had my nails done a sparkly pink colour it was a nice relaxing hour in the salon they are very good at what they do and the salon was very busy they also run a brow bar but I am not brave enough to have my eyebrow's waxed or shaped and wouldn't take the chance because of my eye problem.

Yes ladies we had such a laugh about the piecing of the hall wallpaper I hate to think how the bedroom paper has been matched up when I get around to doing that !!! My helpful friend is calling in next week to put up the new paper for me .
I am on the look out for a silver framed mirror for the wall in the hall I may go to The Range and see what they have on offer when my friend comes to stay.

Its dry and breezie here today so the washer has been on and I shall hang it out to dry shortly then get a few bits of ironing done and put away.

I've defrosted some beef to make a slow cooker stew for my DGS who is still in plaster on his leg for that operation he had for his ankle I put it in containers for him to freeze it saves him standing to cook a meal for himself & his brother who he shares the house with it also uses up the spare veg I have in my fridge from the week-end .

Ollie has been missing his pal Jim from next door he is turning up his nose at his food that I have been putting out for him Jim spoils him with cuts of chicken & ham he gets from Morrisons meat counter and he has decided he doesn't want the likes of Whiskas & Sheba fussy cat he is.

Poor man must have been awful for him and isnt it typical it happened on a day when you were out

Had haircut then went to MIL's .
She is much better but we noticed today how thin she is and seems to be getting smaller ,
She is only 7st 10lbs at the minute and as she is 87 now its understandable she is looking smaller and older ,

Mind you her tongue is no sweeter

From there we went to Morrisons and I bought myself some lovely cut flowers ,
I do like fresh flowers in the house and have had some lovely ones the past few weeks .

If you remember about 6-7 weeks ago I had Thrush well the internal symptoms went but the external itching and burning is still there ,

I rang Drs two weeks ago , couldn't get a appointment to speak to either the Dr or the Practice nurse all they would do is refer me to Boots the Chemist for a phone appointment .
Spoke to Pharmacy they said if its no better in two weeks ring your Dr again , a total waste of time .

Anyway Yesterday I rang Drs again said I couldn't go on with this ,
Receptionist said sorry I have no appointments at all you could try ringing this morning at 8.30 see if any emergency appointments .

Rang spot on 8.30 again sorry no cant get you in for a phone call , by this time I am so fed up I said to the Receptionist well I want to put in a formal complaint , I am aware I cant see Dr face to face but surely a phone call could be fitted in .

Went to Hairdressers had hair cut and just as I got back in the car my Phone rang , surprise surprise it was the Dr how could he help .
He is sending medication and if im no better by next week he will see me .
He was very nice and pleasant about it but why did I have to say I wanted to put in a formal complaint before I got that phone call , its madness

Its coming to something when you have to resort to threats, with the surgery.

Decorating is done. Happy with it.

Oma, my MIL is very thin, but she eats like a horse.

This morning it was very warm in the sun,too warm.
About 1 ish it started raining,but the sun is out again now.

Oma - I seriously feel that many of us have been abandoned by our GP services. I keep on hearing about things like this were an ailment that's common but still needs a very routine treatment can't be dealt with. It's awful that you have to suffer for several weeks and then have to resort to complaining to get even a phone call. It's good when you hear about a doctor really looking after their patients, but as for some of them! What kind of flowers did you get?

Nanto - so glad you're pleased with your decorating - he must have worked hard to get it done so quickly.

Glamm - I didn't realise how much the rehoming centres charge for cats. When we got Eva they said there was no charge but they would really appreciate a "donation" of I think it was £250 and we rounded it up to £350. It was something to do with red tape/paperwork/VAT/tax - not sure which. I guess they are all registered as charities. Interesting that your friend's rag doll calmed down when she had a furry friend. Ollie knows what he likes, obviously!

We've bought a couple of mirrors over the last year or so from Wayfair and have been really pleased with the quality of them. It will be interesting to see how your bedroom wallpaper is. We moved into one house where they had put a strip of paper in one bedroom on upside down, and then put a wardrobe up against it and just stuck another piece the right way up above the wardrobe!

It seems a long time since your GS had the operation. Is he due to have the plaster removed soon. He must be quite fed up by now, but I bet he loves his gran's home cooking.

Gem - I hope you're having a super family day out, and I'm still so sorry GS1 isn't there to enjoy it too. I hope the weather is being kind to you.

I hope Lizzie's feeling better after yesterday's shock with her bike, and she's enjoying her holiday.


Well, another busy day here at Daisy Towers! Friends called round for coffee this morning - he's a wood turning buddy of OH's and they were trying to identify some pieces of wood which OH had forgotten about, while his wife and I sat in the garden with a coffee and cake. I've only got to know this lady through our OHs, but she's a lovely lady and we both enjoyed having a chat this morning. Then it got a billy chilly and went like rain so we went into the living room. They left just as some neighbours were passing by, so we stopped for a few words with them. Then the garage rang to say OH's car was ready. I drove OH as far as the petrol station to fill my car up and he went on to the garage. I got back home, made lunch, waited, and waited and waited. Got fed up and hungry so ate my lunch. Eventually OH turned up - there were a lot of Enfield motor bikes at the garage and OH asked if they were starting to sell them. Apparently they own the building next door (an ex bank) and are going to use it as a showroom. OH said he used to be the manager there and the boss offered to show him round, and OH was able to identify what some of the old keys were for and other things. They are trying to keep some of the bank's old character.

So I finally get a chance to get online, and it's only 4 o'clock!

Bet J enjoyed his look around the Bank and how good he could help with the keys , that was a stroke of luck for them

Lovely morning here, I overslept and had to rush around as I was expecting a friend to call in on her morning walk to pick up some Pink plant cuttings. We had a look at the garden and a long chat with a cuppa so that was the morning gone. Played bowls this afternoon and when I got back baby H was with DD, her mother was having her nails done.

Gemini, I hope the trip to Filey went well and everyone enjoyed themselves.

All you clever ladies that do decorating, I have only ever painted one wall and have never, ever hung a piece of wallpaper. I am very impressed.

Busy but enjoyable day for you Daisy, you have done a lot of entertaining lately.

Glamm, have a lovely time with your friend and I hope you find some bargains.

Oma, I really can’t see where we are going to finish up with the new system of contacting the doctors. I hear nothing but complaints from my friends. I believe this is countrywide now. I can’t help feeling that it can’t be very satisfactory for the doctors either, sitting in a room making phone calls. My doctor is so lovely, even showed me a photo of his new baby the last time I saw him. I am aware that there were patients that wasted the doctors time but there are going to be patients who are not going to bother to make the effort who really need to see a doctor.

As you are all very aware we have the wedding on Sat. And tomorrow things will be beginning to hot up so I am making my excuse now that I doubt I will be posting but I will be thinking about you so take care and behave yourselves

Glam, if I tell my friend to get a second cat she will faint! Yes, the company were very good, the girl even phoned today to see how I was.

I have had a nice day out, DS and family came and we went to Middelburg, had a walk round the shops then we went for a meal, it was very good as well, they are regular customers there, understandable. I am going cycling with GD1 tomorrow, while we were out I though it would be a good idea for her to stay here then DS1 doesn’t have to bring her in the morning, I phoned the lady and explained, i was going home on Sunday but changed it to Saturday then GD1 can use my 4th night.
She had to think if she had enough in house for breakfast and she has.so she is staying, we will have our bike ride andI have booked a meal for 5pm then DIL will pick her up here to go home as she is working on Saturday. If I had had my bike I would have stayed until Sunday but I am certainly coming again

Plant - an exciting few days. Is the wedding local to you? I've just had a look at the forecast from DS1 and DIL who don't live far from you and it looks a bit gloomy with high possibility of rain. I do hope it's wrong! But you will have a great time whatever the weather does. Have a wonderful time. Is baby H still teething?

Nanto - I'm sure it's been a tiring day, but it's good to have most things back in place. I love having a change round, so would definitely re-arrange the pictures, but OH always says there's nothing wrong with where they were so leave them there. I take no notice, of course. I'm just trying to finish off my Sainsburys order for tomorrow, and the website is down! Grrr .... I hope it comes back up before the checkout deadline tonight.

Lizzie - yes, OH did find it interesting, and he was able to tell them things about the building that they'd been wondering about.

Not much on today , B has appointment with Orthopedic Dr about his Back not that much can be done now but still you never know ,

I have just chopped a big bag of lemons and put them in the freezer , I didnt realise we had Lemons in and bought another big bag ,
So rather than waste them i have cut them into wedges and they can be used frozen in drinks or whatever

Will pop back see how everyone is doing xxx
