Lizzie, unless your sister is in a 'bubble' with her son (single people can do this) she won't be officially allowed to see him, or anyone else in the house or garden after Wednesday. She can meet him outdoors in a public place though.

Good morning ladies. Thank you for nice cheerful graphics - goodness knows we need them!

It's blustery here, too but the sun has put in a brief appearance - I hope that's not it for the day.

Enfys - thank goodness you can still see your DD, and dogs are always good company. But I'm not underestimating how hard it will be for you and all our grannies who live alone and will be deprived of company. I wonder if Clover will be able to continue helping her ladies?

Lizzie - I hope the weather stays dry and calm enough for you to get out each day, but perhaps it's time for you to take up a new hobby. What sorts of things do you enjoy doing? I wonder if your nephew will still be able to visit your sister as a care giver - I think that's allowed.

Oma - thinking of Clare and her family. I'm sure today will be hard, but it sounds as though she is doing really well. Will they come home tomorrow? You must have needed that sleep - don't go overdoing things today and ending up that tired again! xx

Gem - how silly that the only place you can see your DD3 indoors is in a public library. But nothing makes sense at the moment.

A friend was telling me last night that we won't be able to see our GDs after Wednesday, but I thought informal childcare was permitted so we can look after them after school. It's very confusing.

Daisy, as i understand it,childcare is permitted.

Gem, hope you get to see DD.

Oma, i wish i had slept like that. Was a bad night for me.
Hope all goes well at the funeral.

Daisy, childcare is permitted. Just having the children to visit isn't, but if it's childcare to allow parents to work it is.

Visiting to help the vulnerable is allowed. I was able to do so with my mum in the first lockdown before she went into the care home, and Nan2 with her in laws, so yes maybe Lizzie's nephew can visit his parents in that way.

I agree its ludicrous I can see DD or anyone else at 'work' in the library, but not in my home or a cafe. From Thursday of course there will be nowhere to legally meet indoors - apart from in a supermarket!

OH has just returned from a jigsaw swap assignation in the golf club car park! She had run out so I am glad she has a few more to go into lockdown with. A sort of informal jigsaw lending library seems to have been set up

Daisy, I do have hobbies really, always done a lot of sewing, knitting etc. Knitting not working at the moment because of a broken finger, I do have other things in house to keep me occupied, I need to get to the library tomorrow as that could be closing for a month. DS1 always says " watch a film mum". I am not a film person but do it now and again. I will keep myself occupied.

Late checking in, I had a Warfarin appt. this morning, pleased to get that done before lockdown, next one is January. Just enjoying a coffee and then I am going to Hobbycraft. Made a click and collect order for Friday week, this Friday is booked up. I will go to the local farm shop for veg. I am having a problem with my neck, it is painful most of the time but every so often it does a clonk and then another clonk. I have stopped knitting as I wonder if that has caused it.

Jigsaw puzzle swap is a good idea Gemini, I haven't done a jigsaw for years. Will you still be able to see your mum, has the visit to the audible clinic happened yet?

Goodness Oma that was a good sleep, now don't go and do too much and get overtired. Will you and B still go shopping for essentials after Thursday?

My hairdresser rang to cancel an appt. for next week, she is not allowed to continue during lockdown, I have another appt. in December, fingers crossed.

I very rarely eat beef but your meal sounds very tasty Nanto.

That sounds a good idea Jigsaw swapping Gem

Plant we will still go to Aldi for them opening once a week as we have a continued slot with Asda on a Friday morning ,

Your neck may be caused with your knitting maybe leave it a few days see if it gets any better , I hope it does xx

I ordered a Pandora charm for DD for Christmas it came today , opened it and its the wrong one ,
Rang them and this one has to be sent back before they will send the right one out ,
Had to download a returns label and B will have to take it to the main post office after lunch

Its a limited edition so the young man I spoke to has reserved one to send out as soon as this one gets to them , what a carry on

Lizzie how did you break your finger ??? Ouch

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Plant I haven't seen my mum since mid September, a few days after she came out of hospital. Care home visits in North Yorkshire were stopped then.
I am going to talk to them about the hospital appointment.

Oma, what a carry on with the bracelet. I broke my finger whilst throwing rubbish in our undergrounds container, there is a flap on it, it did hurt but I never bothered much at the time, much later it was swelling and painful and I thought it was arthritis, my physio did an ultra sound on it and said " how on earth have you done that"! It was broken in 2 places, not much I can do about it now, somedays I don't feel it, it depends what I do, I did some knitting and the same night I could hardly sleep, so, haven't bothered since, I may try and see how it goes as I have always knitted.

                            Good afternoon all.

Daisy as if your DS hasn't enough to cope with , now a leaking pipe. I hope it won't cost too much to repair.

Oma I think it is a little early for the Christmas decs to go up . I like to get into December. I have heard talk that families are decorating early to cheer themselves up because of the horrible year we have all had . Whatever gets you through it I suppose.
I can't help thinking that the decorations will be a little 'tired and dusty ' by Christmas and what if they decide on a real tree? it bare by December 25th

Oma I hope the funeral went as well as can .

We tided the front garden today and tomorrow , weather permitting we will tackle the back and then I will put the fuchsias , geraniums and strawberry plants into the grow house for the winter. Then thats basically all the gardening done for some considerable time.
OH will retrieve Rudolph our wooden reindeer from the back of the shed to the front ready for him to sit on the patio sometime in December.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi - yes DS could well do without a leaky mains pipe! I think they are more worried about where the water is going than anything - their house slopes down from the road!

There's so much to do in our garden that I don't know where to start. I threw a few dead plants and empty pots out of the greenhouse today, but I've got no enthusiasm at the moment. Whatever I do won't be enough to get it into good shape for the winter this year.

Lizzie - your poor finger, it must be very painful. I was thinking along the lines of a new hobby to add to your existing ones, thinking it might give you more of a boost to tackle something fresh. I found that in the summer when I started painting.

Oma - if they've sent the wrong Pandora charm I think they should be sending you the correct one and not making you wait until they receive your returned one! It would be all the same if you wanted it for a present before Christmas! Even worse that B has to go into the main post office to post the wrong one!

Plant - I'm glad you're up to date with your warfarin check. One less thing to worry about. Do you have an ice pack or heat pack to put on your neck? My DIL2 swears by Tiger Balm, but I've never tried it. Volterol Gel is good at reducing inflammation I find.

There seems to be a very useful jigsaw swap scheme going on among the puzzlers in our road - it's such a good idea.

I'm still unsure about the childcare situation. DSs and DIL will have to close the shop, but can, I think do click and collect (whether it's feasible for them with their business is another matter). So I've no idea if that means they're open or closed!!! I'll have a chat with DS2 tonight.

Clover will you be out of lockdown next week? I read somewhere that they won't be going back into local lockdowns. I do hope this means you will be able to see your sons and get out a bit. I do hope you're ok. xx

Nanto - I hope you sleep better tonight. xx
