Oma - yes, it's very worrying for these small businesses, and for my DS it should be the busiest month of the year! Even if they can open on 3 December they wouldn't be able to catch up on the volume of work they'd need to do to make up for 4 weeks closure.

Good morning ladies.
Nan2, that's a pretty picture to start the day. I'm glad you had a better night.
I think a lot of hairdressers, beauty and massage therapist and the like are fitting in as many as they can now. Luckily for me my reflexology was booked for this morning anyway.
Reflexology this morning. GS1 school pick up this afternoon . On the way I am calling in at Mum's care home, dropping off some more of her clothes, with some flowers and a note.
We had the phone quiz with friends last night and I came second

Good morning, Nanto. what a pretty graphic - it makes me think of Spring. I'm glad you slept a bit better last night. Dinner sounds yummy! Well done to your hairdresser fitting in as many clients as possible before the door slams shut on her business yet again.
I haven't had a proper chat with DS2 yet to see what the situation is for their business, but I don't feel very optimistic for them. Their business is based so much on personal service so hopefully customers will return when they're allowed, but the loss during lockdown will be severe.
The sun's shining this morning - hurrah - so I'm going to clean out the greenhouse and get as many tender plants tucked up for winter as possible. I hope it will dry up enough to cut the lawn as well. It gets very little sun at this time of year which makes it permanently wet.
I hope everyone is ok, and getting ready for the dismal prospect of another lockdown in England. xx
EDIT - my post crossed with Gem and Oma's. Oma - Storm must be the most pampered dog in the country! He must love coming to see you. Take it easy with that shoulder - it sounds really painful. xx
Gem - well done on coming 2nd in the quiz. I'm sure your mum will love the flowers. Your reflexology appointment was good timing - enjoy. xx

It is like summer here! 20 degrees in the sun. I am going to the physio soon then for my bike ride, I need to hoover through today as when the sun is so low it shows up everything!!!
I went to the aqua yesterday, 14 of us, the rest of the pool is closed so there is just the group, halfway through the fire brigade divers go for their lessons in the deep pool, we are not anywhere near them. I really enjoyed it, I hope they don't make the decision to stop it again, we get our new info this evening.
I am going to join the library now, I will get a few books in case it is closed again.

Oh Oma, your poor shoulder, its giving you so much pain. This really needs sorting out
I hope you get the lawn cut Daisy.
We must get ours and Mum's done at some point. Our neighbours who are away this week are having their lawn cut today, luckily it is fine this morning.
I hope aqua continues Lizzie.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

My last Aqua this afternoon, just as they got it all set up for the use of the pool, we are into lockdown again. Sun just coming out but soggy and wet everywhere. Lots of fireworks going off last evening, poor animals.
Daisy I feel really sorry for your DS2 and his wife, small businesses are having a real struggle, we have many empty shops in our local small town. I hope you get some good news about DS1 today.
20 degrees, lovely,Lizzie. enjoy the day, leave the housework.
Gemini, your mother will need some warmer clothes soon, I hope she is keeping well. That is the end of us visiting Sil's mother for a while.
Daisy is right Oma, that is one much loved spoilt dog. Sorry to hear you are in so much pain with your shoulder, have you had the problem diagnosed?

Well change of plans , DD forgot it was Storms shampoo and groom today so we picking him up tomorrow after my haircut
Plant it has been diagnosed over the phone by our Practice nurse as Frozen shoulder , how they can diagnose like that is beyond me ,
I looked on NHS web site and it could be that or a torn cuff in the shoulder or a trapped nerve the symptoms are similar but the treatments are different ,
Cant have a injection of steroids as they not doing them at the minute ,
Cant have Xray
Cant see Dr face to face ,
I did get a phone call for the Dr she just said she would get Physio to ring with some exercises to do but how will they know im doing them right ?
Apparently it could take up to 18 month to recover so basically im stuck with it and pain killers.
Lizzie 20 degrees wow its blooming freezing here
B is busy putting a new porch light up and door sign , he has the front door open and its bitter cold
Gem 2nd well done mastermind
Did the home find your Mums coats ?
Daisy i hope you get your jobs done in the greenhouse and the grass is dry enough , its so wet here we cant even suck the leaves up ,
I did try and scoop some up outside the front door but keeping a bin bag open and scoop leaves with only one hand wasn't easy so I gave up , B will have to do it with the garden vac .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, cooler now and windy again! I have been to the physio, dry needling in my groin, can hardly walk! Will be fine tomorrow, I hope, it does help but this time I felt the needles. Your shoulder will be painful, how they can diagnose that from a distance I do not know.
The council are busy here cleaning the streets of the leaves whilst it is still dry. 4 or 5 groups of men, blowing, sweeping, piling etc.
No bike ride this afternoon, I should have gone this morning but got other things done instead.

Gem - I hope you had a useful conversation with your mum's care home manager and her coats have been found. Did you enjoy your reflexology session?
Lizzie - Ouch, dry needling sounds very painful - I do hope it is ok tomorrow. We've had a cold wind here - nowhere close to 20! But every nice day at this time of year is a bonus.
Oma - you can see why people turn up at A&E when they're in pain and their surgery can't help them, although at present that sounds even riskier than usual. It seems reckless to me for the nurse to try and diagnose over the phone! I think it's totally unreasonable, even at present, that you can't get proper treatment for something so painful. It might be worth another phone call at least and stress that it's keeping you awake at night.
Plant - what a pity about Aqua classes closing again. Is your SIL's mum ok? She must be disappointed about visitors as well.
Lizzie - fingers crossed that your aqua classes can continue. Did you get any interesting books from the Library?
I've spent most of the day in the garden. First thing I cut down some buddleia bushes at the front - they'd grown very leggy so I've cut them back so they won't blow about in the wind. I'll take them back to the ground in the Spring.
It was sunny, but with a cold wind and I was glad I'd put a coat on! Then OH came out to help me with the greenhouse. We emptied it and he dug out all the weeds (the healthiest things in there!) and dug the beds over. I emptied lots of brown stalks out of pots, chopped them up for the compost and cleaned the pots. I cut back quite a few plants as well. I'd just got lunch ready when the heavens opened. The downpour lasted less than 10 minutes but of course everything out of the greenhouse was soaked as well as all the pots, saucers etc I keep in a chest in the garden! After lunch I sorted the pots out into sizes and stacked them neatly in the chest. A bit of tidying up and by then it was going dark, and my poorly knee had had enough. The lawn will have to wait for another day, and so will wrapping up the tender plants and moving them into the greenhouse. I hope we don't have a severe frost tonight! It was lovely being outside but I'm tired out now!

Afternoon/Evening Grannies.
Oma I’m so sorry about your painful shoulder. Constant pain is very draining.
Daisy what an awful worry for your son’s business. It couldn’t be at a worse time and I expect he is worried about his brother as well.
Gem it must be so frustrating and upsetting to be so near your Mum when you drop off things yet so far. I do hope she understands. She did so well to get over her operation as well as she did.
Not a lot happening here as usual. We’re half way through our lockdown but it makes little difference to me. I’ve been spending too much money on on-line shopping but on the other hand I haven’t been to town shopping since January and then it was only into one or two shops to get things to take in to G in hospital..
I had to grit my teeth and pay the invoice for the new roof.😀😧When they were taking down the scaffolding they damaged my front garden fence when a pole got dropped on it! It’s a very old fence but they did mend it to the best of their ability and very promptly too.
My GD has taken interrupted learning from uni, deferring until next year. She just wasn’t getting the experience that she deserved and as it is a Drama degree no practical interaction and lectures on line weren’t what she signed up for, She has managed to get a job in Superdrug which she is enjoying. Her parents gave her their full support.
Hope you have a good evening. “Bake off” here I come after a family Zoom 😀

Clover - lovely to hear from you. I'm so glad your roof is finished before any seriously bad weather sets in, but what a pity about the fence - at least they tried to put it right. I've been wondering how the Uni could deliver a Drama course with social distancing, masks etc. I'm sure she's done the right thing - hopefully thing will be more normal next Autumn, and she will get some useful life experience in her job to add to her CV. xx
