Oh poor you Lizzie!! I do feel for you, especially on your birthday. I hope the antibiotics do their job soon.

Oh Nan2, whats wrong? I think you spend a lot of time doing things for others, maybe some real Nan2 time is needed? xx

After several hours cleaning at mums house, loading and unloading a big car full of stuff and taking to up and down all the steps at the the tip I am k.......d!

Haven't been on for a few days and there's a lot to catch up with!

Hope that all those under the weather are feeling a bit brighter as are any family members.

I haven't had a particularly good week, but looking forward to a better next week. I think I overdid it loading the skip on my own, but as OH wasn't to lift things, it had to be done. Needless to say, the skip wasn't collected when it should have been, so I'm still chucking bits and pieces in it!! My hip was very painful and I found it difficult to move around, but as OH is unable to do things around the house, I've just had to get on and do things slowly. I've avoided taking too many painkillers and have relied on the gin instead....much more palatable!

DD set up a video appointment with our solicitor yesterday because the buyers solicitor is still asking irrelevant questions. Luckily our solicitor seems to be getting as tired of it as we are and DD has found out that the buyers have not asked the solicitor to make the enquiries!!! Fingers crossed for positive news next week.

On a positive note OH's biopsies showed no sign of the melanoma only the CLL. We see his oncologist this Wednesday so he may decide to change his treatment or up the dosage. We shall see! Interesting though, I think I mentioned he had a rash and nobody took any notice of it. Well, it disappeared when he was in hospital so I thought it must be something to do with the melanoma, but it's started again. He has a diabetic review at the GP's on Thursday and I've asked to go with him ( that went down like a lead balloon when we asked) so I might raise it then. Nobody has looked at it, just keep giving him another tube of cream!

Anyway, I must go and see what I can tempt OH with for tea. I've got a casserole in the slow cooker but that's for tomorrow as DD is coming to check on progress etc. Have a good evening ladies xx

Oh take care WG, we are getting a little old for chucking stuff in skips! I will be so glad the all the physical work on mum's house is done. At least OH who is stronger than I am can help. Keep on with the gin!
Good news about your OH's biopsies.

WG do take care of yourself, it's hard work loading a skip. You are right to insist on going with OH when he attends his appointment.

Gem you've been pushing yourself hard also , hope you are feeling better

Nan2 how is your BIL , your MIL must have been really scared

Plant I had an ipad for many years and when it died on me I foolishly replaced it with a Galaxy tablet and what a mistake that was . Although the Galaxy is very good its not as good as an ipad . The key board is smaller and the tablet tends to crash sometimes.

Lizzie a belated happy birthday and hoping the cystitis has cleared up. As a fellow suffer I know it can be hell.

I am aware that I haven't dropped by for a while.I seem to be very busy lately. Hopefully I will improve my attendance

We are still having problems with our cat . In fact she has gotten worse. Saturday afternoon/ evening she has vomited several times and I have been out of bed trying to calm her tonight.
Later I will cook her some chicken and see if that settles her stomach. She has an appointment with the vet on Tuesday.
We have had problems with our bathroom ceiling. Apparently the wrong extractor fan has been installed and its making the ceiling flake. Ceiling has to be replaced. Good job we are insured!
The earliest appointment we have been offered is the middle of June. Not looking forward to it, it's bound to be messy!
Oh and also three windows have to be replaced, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom and sitting room. Apparently they have ' blown ' ? That's being done next week.

                    Stay safe ladies

Started off with sunshine, but its foggy now.
My mood has lifted a bit, not 100% but not as bad as yestrerday.
I phoned my sister in law in Wigan to tell her about BIL.
Had a giggle with her about her grandsons, which helped to perk me up.

Mimi, sorry to hear kitty isn't very well.
Good luck with the house repairs. Probably will be messy, but once they are done it will be worth it.
                      BIL is doing OK thankyou.

good morning, Nanto, I hope you have a better day today. Mimi, yes the ##### cystitis is hell!! I did have a better night though, plenty of water so had to get up a few times, I did sleep better though. My neighbour has just had her cat put to sleep, it bit her last year and she still has problems with her leg, she said the cat was so ill she had no choice, so upset, she got it when her hubby died 11 years ago. I agree with you about the iPad, Apple is expensive, but, once you have one you are spoilt. GD1 got a new iPad the other day. She has had the other a few years and I think she had worn it out.

As I said on my birthday posting I had a really good day and the best news was the DS2 has sold his house. It was a large house in the town, he was thinking of renting it out to students etc, but, I think DIL managed to talk him out of that, they have en0ugh work to do where they are now. He still has a garage, very unusual in the town, he will either sell that or rent it out and sell at a later date.

WG, good news on hubby, try not to lift too much in the skip, we do think we can do much more than we can though.

Gem, I hope you feel better today, you will be pleased when the house is sold and everything is settled, I was tired yesterday from not sleeping well and the medicine, the children must have noticed as they moved the table, chairs etc back into place for me before they left.

I am feeling much better today so I will see what the day brings , it depends on the weather. Well as I am sat here the sun has gone and it is pouring with rain.

Good morning dear ladies, another Sunday is upon us.

Mimi, we have Samsung tablet (recommenced by friends who had one) We have never got on with it, it's so unreliable. Only GS1 uses it to play games on once in a while.
Nan2 I'm glad you are feeling better and I hope that continues as the day goes on.
I'm glad you are feeling better Lizzie. Let's hope that's an end to it!
Good news about your DS's house.

Not so much to do at mums today. Mainly washing the kitchen cupboards out and bringing some things back here. There are things to move into the garage but that can't happen until Wednesday. I am glad we won't be going to the hated (by me) skips today.

Have a good day, and sending HUGS to all who need it.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. When is was very dry in April, at one point I said "we could do with some rain". My wish was granted - in buckets. I wish I knew how to cancel the wish now - the garden is flooded!!

Nanto - glad to hear BIL is improving (sorry for the confusion). I agree with Gem - you need a bit of time for yourself and a bit of pampering from someone.

WeeGranny - my goodness, no wonder you're suffering with all that heavy lifting. Your buyer's solicitors need to get on with the job - the sooner your move can be completed the better. You need time to rest and recover. Good news about your OH, and yes, you definitely need to be with him for his diabetic review. Do you think the rash is being caused by one of the medications he's taking. Did they stop any of his meds when he was in hospital - the rash seemed to have cleared very quickly there. I know you can't take it easy right now, but do take care and be as kind to yourself as you can. xx

Mimi - your poor cat, and poor you as well. I hope the vet can help on Tuesday. I really don't envy you having to replace the bathroom ceiling - I hope it gets done quickly and properly. We had to have a blown window replaced in our kitchen and it was quick and easy - no mess! - so that at least shouldn't result in major clearing up.

Lizzie - I'm sorry you've been feeling so poorly - especially on your birthday. I'm sure it's a weight off your mind that your DS2 has sold the house, but it sounds sensible to keep the garage and rent it out. How did the sailors get on with the boat?

Gem - you've definitely earned a day off from the tip! I hate them too. It sounds as though you're getting to the end of all the clearing out and cleaning, though. I think even if a house is in need of modernisation or decorating if it smells nice and clean when you go in it gives a good first impression.

It was lovely to see DS1, DIL and both GSs yesterday. Unfortunately it was too wet to do the jobs we'd planned to do, but we had a bit more time to sit and chat.

Daisy, it is pouring down here at the moment, I can blame you!!!

They have had a few short trips on the boat, DS1 was going to sail it to Zeeland where he has a berth, as he isn't too sure about anything yet the marina he bought it from has a man, maybe more, that delivers boats as a hobby, this one is my age and used to have boats, now he does this, takes them to Denmark, Berlin etc so knows what he is doing, DS1 is meeting him half way so he can sail with him to see how it all works. All he asks is a hire car to get back home.
