Thanks for the WD40 tip Bleach Babes! The room smells like a garage now but the sticky stuff is gone!

Love to see Lilies Nanto but cant be in a room with them they give me Migraine , even with the stamens removed the smell triggers it instantly,

I do have them growing in the garden but they are Orange and Yellow ones without fragrance .

        WG WD40 is brilliant stuff

Good morning Nanto, and all who call in later. What a pretty graphic, - such gentle colours.

It's a tiny bit warmer here - 13C at the moment, with showers forecast - especially later in the day.

I'm going to do the ironing this morning! Sorry to shock you so early in the day.

Our new neighbours have now moved in and Eva heard Missy (her new friend) on the other side of the fence this morning. She was so excited, but I had to explain hearing Missy doesn't always mean walkies!

I love having fresh flowers in the house, and I've been getting a bunch of Alstroemerias with the supermarket shop. They nearly always last two weeks so I leave the stems long and put them in a tall vase in the hall the first week, and then cut them much shorter and put them in the living room the second week. There's an amazing variety of colours so it's always a surprise!

I hope poorly people are feeling a bit better today. Take care. xx

              Good morning ladies ,

Daisy I love flowers in the house , firstly I had Daffs every week the past few weeks its been Tulips ,
I always put mine in a tall glass to support them with just enough water to come up the stalks about a inch so they don't get soggy and slime all around them .

Hold on old Girl , Ironing this time of a Sunday morning

I was up early did a dark wash and got that dried , then flicked around with a duster and hoover ,

Did the Ironing and had a shower , cleaned bathroom and changed towels they are now in the wash , so now the day is mine .

We going to pop over the road to our retail park and go to Matalan ,
B needs new Jeans desperately and i want to look for tops ,
Probably wont see any but worth a look

Hope everyone is ok will pop back later xxx

I like Alstroemerias Daisy, they last such a long time. Eva will love having Missy next door. Leave that ironing, and enjoy the outside today.

Oma, I take the complete centre out of lillies, just leave the petals as my DD has a problem with the scent.

I am so angry, almost hate our cat, I think he has either caught the blue tits in the nesting in the box or frightened them away. I caught him on the trellis where the nest box is fixed and chased him off and the next morning I noticed the box was not straight, I haven't seen them since. He hasn't been a gentle cat, so different from all our other cats. DD stepped on his tail a few days ago and he bit her on the leg. We don't let the GGC touch him. He sometimes likes to sit on your lap and is quite gentle. When the GGC are here and in the garden he comes running and shows off to them, running up trees, on the roof etc. I wish we understood him.

GD and baby H will be popping in today, GD is going to get her dress shortened.

                  Good morning everyone.

                  Pretty graphic Nan2.
Oma, I don't blame you at all wanting a break from MIL. There have been times over the years when if my mum was my MIL, or I had siblings to go instead of me, I would have had a break from her awkwardness!
Poor little birds Plant Let's hope the cat outgrows the hunting.
Daisy, how sweet that Eva has a friend next door I love alstroemeria too, and lisanthus.
WG, showering and hair washing must be a faff for OH right now!

A busy day for us yesterday but a good one. Both social and productive.
Back to mum's bungalow today to do more, via the tip to unload the car full we took away yesterday!
The valuation went well and we will wait until we have the other on Thursday before deciding.

Have a nice day whatever you are doing.

Plant sometimes you just cant understand cats ,
DD's Buzz is lovely to me and DD and GS but if B or SIL are there he will bite them , poor SIL gives him lots of treats but if Buzz is sitting on say the back of the chair and SIL walks past he will swipe out with his claws and bite his arm

Well while I was ironing this morning I noticed one of B's White T-shirts had a orange stain on
So I threw it down the stairs and told him to put some vanish on then put it on a short wash ,
                    Forgot all about it ,
Had shower etc then a cup of tea and went off to Lidl and Matalan ( it was closed didnt open till 11)

Came back in went to hang coat up and the washer was still going ,
I said when did you put this t-shirt in ?
when you threw it down he said .

When I looked he had put it on the longest and hottest wash on the machine that takes 2-3/4 hours
I have never used that wash , he thought as it was a low number it was the shortest

So one White T-shirt has taken a full 2-3/4 hours to wash

Oma, I have one of those very long wash programmes which I never use. I bet the tee shirt is clean though.

Plant, my neighbour got bitten by her cat a year ago, she got sepsis, she couldn't walk at all for 6 months, nurses in twice a day etc, she manages to get out a little now but her leg is still very swollen, in fact she is waiting for a mobility scooter to get out and about.

Like you Oma, lilies are not for me, they make me ill, I have a friend, she always has a room full of flowers, if I call and there are lilies in she puts them outdoors. In fact the only flower that doesn't bother me are the roses.

I am going to DS2 for a meal later on, DS1 is supposed to be out on the boat but thunder expected so they will have to wait. Rain is forecast for a couple of days. I thought I may have a bike ride at 12am, I got down and decided not to go, 10 minutes later it poured down, only for 10 minutes but I would have been wet.

Fortunately my DD was bitten through her jeans, she has a large bruise on her calf.

The cat really belongs to DD1 and she was planning to take him to live with them in their flat but now she has baby H, her mother has persuaded her not to do that now, he is quite unpredictable. GD loves him very much and can see when he is going to be nasty, the next minute he is sitting on your lap wanting to be stroked.

B will have the cleanest T shirt in the world Oma!
Plant, I am so lucky, I don't think I could count the number of pet cats we have had, starting when I was 3 years old until now.
Not one has ever been mean or unpredictable. I do know of cats who are moody and unpredictable though and can bite or scratch without provocation. As you say, not the right sort of cat to be around a baby or child.
I'm glad you escaped the rain Lizzie! Enjoy your meal with DS2.

We did a lot more at mums this morning including two trip runs. We are meeting with all 3 DDs on Thursday night to liaise on more things.
I'm going to have a nice bath soon, change into clean clothes, and relax!

                            Its a nice bright morning.
Yesterday morning was very warm in the sunshine. It clouded over in the afternoon and temperatures dropped.

Good Monday morning everyone. The start of the last week before some relaxation of restrictions (we hope).

Oma - I did do the ironing. I'm surprised you couldn't see the glow from my halo! What a shame about your shopping yesterday - better luck today. Will B be wearing his very clean t-shirt? It's good to hear of people getting their second jabs.

Plant - no wonder you're upset with the cat, but perhaps something else took the chicks - a magpie, a squirrel, a raptor - do you get red kites? I think it was sensible for GD not to take her cat with a young baby. It's interesting that she can predict his moods - there must be subtle changes in his body language which she picks up on. Our neighbours' 3 cats are all very sweet. One just flings herself on to her back for tummy tickles as soon as you go in, but I know some cats can be a bit moody. Once when I was looking after a friend's 2 cats one of them got a tick. I got OH to come with me, armed with tick hook and a large towel. We wrapped him up comfortably, but quite firmly, and he was quite relaxed. What we didn't expect was the full-on attack from the other one!

Gem - I'm glad the valuation went well. It sounds as though you've nearly finished sorting out your mum's house. I'm sure it will feel very emotional when you finally get the For Sale notice up. Sending hugs xxx

We had a busy day yesterday. We took Eva for a good run in the paddock, and spent ages with her playing ball. Then some friends called round - we'd planned to sit in the garden, but it was too cold and windy, so we sat with the french doors and windows open and had a couple of drinks and a chat. Neither of us felt very hungry afterwards so I just made scrambled egg on toast. I had a long chat with DIL2 in the evening. GD1 and DS2 had spent the afternoon starting to build the radio-controlled car he had for his birthday, and DIL and GD2 had been painting. GD2 did an amazing picture of fish swimming in the sea. She loves art - I'll ask her mummy to send a photo of the finished masterpiece.

It's still windy here and I think there's rain on the way. I'd hoped to do some gardening, but it doesn't look too promising just now.

I hope everyone has had a good week-end and is ready to face another week.
