Afternoon ladies
It’s cold and showery here.
Oma I’m so sorry to hear about your uncle. It sounds as if his passing was peaceful
A sad day for me. It’s four weeks since my darling hubby passed away and today DS1 went and collected his ashes. He brought them over to me and we were both in tears. A quick kiss was all we allowed ourselves. I so wanted him to stay but he couldn’t.
I have an appointment at the Post Office this afternoon which is probably a good thing as it will make me go out.
I hope everyone is keeping safe and to anyone on their own like me, special love.xx

Clover I hope that having your hubby's ashes with you will give you some comfort. My thoughts are with you x
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday would be when we have the May Fair in town but obviously that's been cancelled and I couldn't believe my eyes when I read all the miserable posts on the online local paper.
People say it's good that it isn't here and it should be cancelled but lots of young adults and children enjoy the fair. I know I did when I was a teenager. I admit some of the rides these days look terrifying and I do wonder the safety issues of putting them up and taking them down again week after week but even so the stalls and smaller rides aren't hurting anyone, its only three days out of a whole year for goodness sake.
It's rather chilly here today, plenty of sunshine but the wind has a cold feel to it. I was going to clean the windows but my magazine arrived in the post and I go side tracked! There is always tomorrow I suppose
Keep safe ladiesBring me sunshine in your smile.

Clover, it will be so emotinial for you, thinking of you.xx
Mimi, I do agree with you about the fair, I know they are not allowed with the lock down but the youth of today do enjoy it all, just as we did in our day! My first visit to Hull fair, I must have been 13 years old, I went with a school friend and her parents, we went on a ride, twister of something, oh dear, I still remember what was playing at the time, Del Shannon with Runaway and every time I hear it I feel like I am spinning in the air!

An emotional day Clover and Oma xx
Clover, I got comfort from having my dad's ashes here (they are still here) I hope you do from G's. It must have been bitter sweet to see your son.
Oma, how old was your uncle?
I think DD is having a nice day. She and her OH had a walk earlier. She is having a Zoom meeting with the children soon, and with the grown ups this evening in 'the pub'
I managed , this morning, to find a local cake maker to make and deliver cup cakes to her from us this afternoon. They look yummy from the photo, so hopefully they will be enjoyed. I had to order 12, some may be frozen later I suspect.
We have lazed around today. A couple of games of Scrabble, online time, OH did a bit of golf practice in the garden!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oma - I'm so sorry to hear about your Uncle. What a shock, and on a very sad day anyway. Had your uncle been ill? Sending love and hugs.
Clover - Sending you extra hugs and love today. These 'firsts' are so painful, aren't they, but I'm glad you are comforted by having G back home with you. I'm sure both you and your DS enjoyed your few minutes together, although I'm sure it was nowhere near enough time. I hope your appointment went ok.
Mimi - what a shame about the fair. I know it's not possible to hold it this year but I do feel people who are calling for it to be banned altogether have forgotten what it's like to be young and wanting to hurtle round at break-neck speed on fairground rides. Plus there's the social side of it where youngsters can wander round together eating candy floss or doughnuts or chips - or all of them.
Gem - I'm sure your DD3 will be making the most of her lockdown birthday. The cup cakes were a good idea and I'm sure she will enjoy them.
Today has been busy, and I haven't even had time to photograph OH's latest creation (a massive bowl made out of monkey puzzle wood) but I'll do it tomorrow."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
