Very fetching Nanto. Don't keep us in suspense too long

Lizzie, I am pleased you had a lovely birthday, DS2 and his partners new house sounds very exciting for them.

We had our green bin emptied yesterday, I will start filling it today with red currant prunings.

Good morning everyone. Nanto - I wish I looked that glamorous first thing in the morning!

It's more cloudy here today, but warmer and dry, so I'll be back in the garden. We definitely won't be going anywhere this week-end - it sounds like most of southern England is descending on the Forest and seaside towns. We'll stay home and stay safe.

Is anybody else finding that they make plans for the day and then they get distracted by other things? A couple of long phone calls (very welcome, of course), unexpected paperwork, helping OH with something, and the usual cooking etc, and suddenly the day's gone! I feel I'm not getting on with things I really want to do, and it's frustrating - I should have plenty of time for myself and I haven't. But then, I'm not lonely and I should count my blessings.

Nan2, where did you find that picture of me, one of my best I think we can all agree!

Oma what a shame about the fish and chips .
Around here I think anice cream ' war ' is going on . For many years we have had the same ice cream van doing his rounds the same (ish) time every evening, every day through the spring and summer time but another van is arriving here and there has been a few disagreements going on . Its getting interesting out there .

Well ladies initially yesterday I was overjoyed to receive in the post my invitation to claim my state pension at long last , in fact I felt like doing a little dance after all it's been a long 6 years in the waiting but then it sank home to me. In September I will be an OAP Where have all the years gone .

Oma I managed to buy some cotton short sleeved py's from M and S last summer butI am sure you can buy them online from M and S .

          Hope everyone is well
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

                      Evening All!
Mimi it’s all good news from now on. Many things with discounts, and joy knowing that you need never think about going to work again unless you choose to.
Lizzie that is a beautiful tribute.
Just two more sets of scrubs and then I’m done. The demand here has dropped so I’m bowing out for now.
Today we had a garden visit from the DDs. I was apprehensive because although we FaceTime etc. we have so missed seeing them in the flesh, and I thought I might have a wobble. All was ok and, as usual the double act had us in fits. We have a quiz at 8pm so I must gird my loins.
Looking forward to a week of sunshine next week, now that is a cheery thought. 😁

                        Good evening ladies.
Been alternating sun and cloud here. A bit chilly in the wind.

Mimi, another welcome from me to the pensioners club.

Grauntie, your visit from DD's sounded like fun.
                        Good luck with the quiz.

Goodness, it sounds as though you're all getting older! I bet you're trying to catch up with Plant and me, but we've got a head start and are well in front!

Lizzie - what a lovely tribute - such a tragic loss of young lives.

Grauntie - I hope your loins were well-girded ready for the quiz. Great to see your DDs in the flesh after so long on Face Time.

Oma - you could always get long sleeved PJs and cut the sleeves short!

Welcome to the pensioners club. Don’t forget to apply for your bus pass too, although you probably won’t want to use it just yet!

Sending love to those feeling sad tonight and hope that the coming days are happier ones.
Things haven't been too good with OH, but am trying to be positive and patient. The latter is not easy for me!
Have noticed that the traffic through the village is on the increase,so there's either a lot of people going back to work or more people are getting out and about.
SiL is having to go into work in central London and isn't too happy that the congestion charge is being reintroduced. He doesn't want to use public transport and I don't blame him. Luckily it's not every day!
                                Take care everyone xx
