Oma and Nan2, thanks for your concern. I have been reading all the posts but just having felt much like chatting at the moment, although I did go on the greenhouse thread. Just finding it all a bit difficult at the moment, trying to get OH moving and motivated and keeping everything ticking over. We are OK, though, so thanks for thinking of us. As Arnie said,....I’ll be back ..🙂

Enfys - we all understand if you don't feel like chatting, and I hope it's cheering you up a little bit to see your greenhouse flourishing. Things are hard enough for people without your continuing worries, and it must be so much harder to stay cheerful when you are having to be positive for two. I hope the good weather is helping a bit, and that P can enjoy some of his hobbies - like his videos, when he needs to take things easy. Sending lots of hugs. xxx
Gem - you've been on my mind all day, I hope for the best in a very difficult situation. xxx

I was so exhausted I got my pyjamas on and was asleep before 9.
Woke at 9.55 by mum. She had been sick again and either got or fallen out of bed. She was naked on the floor. I couldn't get her up so phoned OH to come. Mum's leg was hurting, so I was trying to comfort her, throw a dressing gown over her to keep her warm, boil a kettle for a hotwater bottle, change the undersheet and get the front doors unlocked for OH .I probably looked like a headless chicken. Mum's things are packed for tomorrow so I had to find more PJs. Summery ones had to do. We got her cleaned up, Tena. PJ's and bedsocks on and into bed with hof water bottle. I gave her a diazepam to calm her and help her sleep. The good news in this is that the Tena pants were wet after 3 dry days. Her kidneys have not totally packed up as suspected. It just confirms that the care home tomorrow is the right thing.
I hope mum and I have a peaceful night. I will say more about today tomorrow!

Just been catching up on the last few days on here. Gem, sorry to hear your mum's more poorly. Enfys, as has been said it must be hard keeping your spirits up. Chin up love.
OH said that he'd been talking to a neighbour (at a distance) & he said his wife's returned to nursing. She'd just retired 6mth ago, although she's only in her mid 50's. She's done two 12hr shifts on the ward up to now. He said he'd got her a meal ready for when she gets home. Somehow clapping doesn't seem to be enough sometimes for these brave people does it?💕"Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Oma she had been sick on pj top and vest. Didn't have the bottoms on as she didn't want them on, and took Tena pants off as they were wet. She had forgotten I was here. No way could she have got clean clothes on or got into bed, so thank goodness I was.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning.
She does mostly realise Lizzie, which is hard as she feels bad for causing problems, which as we day she is not. No one chooses these situations.
Today mum will go to the care home. The one we had lined up for her near to us suddenly brought in ruling that all new residents must have negative covid 19 certificate. No tests available so that was that. We found a place in the family run one on DD2s village. She knows the family who run it. DD lives nearby ,GDs school is even nearer and DD1 lives 4 miles away . We and DD3 are further away, but it's less than a half hour drive. Mum is tired and wanting to be cared for. If not for the current situation it would be ideal. As we can't visit it's not ideal of course. As soon as restrictions are lifted she will have plenty of family visitors. We do know it's possible we may not see her again, but are trying not to think that way, and especially not let mum do so
We have a Tesco order to collect. I think OH will go alone as I don't want to leave mum. We will go over to the care home with mum this afternoon.
When I have time and my laptop I will copy and paste a lot of this into a thread as I'm aware its all a bit bitty .
Have a good day everyone. Lovely sunny one here.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning, Grans. Easter Saturday - isn't it strange.
Gem - I've read your other post in What I did today. Looking at the timing of yesterday/this morning's posts you must be exhausted, both emotionally and physically. Thank goodness your mum has been able to wee, even though she was sick as well. I'm glad she is sufficiently aware to be able to say what she wants. It's hard if you're trying to second guess. I'm sure she will feel safe and cared for in the home, and they have the expertise and equipment to lift her gently and with least discomfort. I know how hard it is from when I was caring for my mum at home and she was much more mobile. I hope once she's settled in today you will be able to go home and shut the door on the world while you catch up on sleep. Ask OH to give you a hug from me. Take care. xxx

I've started another post now, because it makes it easier for Gem to put all her Mum's news into one thread later.
Nanto - you were a busy bee getting your kitchen cleaned so early. I hope you've got chance later to put your feet up! How are your in-laws? It's good news that they're eating better to keep their strength up. Are they coping ok with one less visit a week from you?
Nana - god bless your neighbour for returning to nursing - I'm sure every single pair of hands is invaluable at this time. I hope she stays safe and well.
Enfys - it's another lovely sunny day - I hope you can coax P out into the garden even if it's just for fresh air and to listen to the birdsong. xx
I hope Clover is ok, and is getting some much-needed rest. I hope it's been possible for her family to be with her. I'm sure she's exhausted too. xx
More gardening on the agenda for us today, although I might try and get OH to have a day off and get in his shed for a while. He's been doing all the heavy work and he looked tired last night. I've left him in bed for now - there's no rush. For the first time ever, I feel we've got the luxury of unstructured time.
Take care everyone, and try to have a peaceful day. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
