I had a lovely relaxing treatment thanks Daisy
The reflexologist is my friend's daughter and we get on really well, so lots of chatting goes on too!
I have written OH a shopping list, as it occurred to me that I was doing shopping on the way to collect GS, while she was here doing nothing
I will still go to The Range, but that is fun shopping, not boring fruit, veg and cereal type shopping!

Afternoon ladies not a bad day today, sorry I’ve been a bit bit hit and miss , I don’t always have anything to say lol. We have been busy though we are getting a new kitchen and a downstairs cloakroom built on, knocking one wall down to make a bigger kitchen and moving dining furniture into small conservatory, we have a floor to ceiling window which is in three panels taken out to open up the small conservatory , I’m not looking forward to it, picking the kitchen was fine and chatting to builders with muscles was quite pleasant but the work involved the dust etc 🥴 building work starts next week
Gem I have an iPhone and just a case for the back , I have dropped it or shall I say the kids have but I’ve been lucky , bad luck for B Oma , my tariff is up in March I have been rung several times to get a new phone this is Virgin but I’m not going to fall into that trap, keeping my phone does all I want it to do 😬
Plant hope g/d is feeling better today
Nanto we are having sausage casserole tonight with mash and veg ! and roly poly pud for afters naughty but nice
Gem is that your actually car on another thread If so it’s a smashing looking thing 😁
Daisy I will have a look at pics on F B

        Gen I like nice shopping

Qwerty, no that's not my car, although both my present and ex OH have had PT Cruisers, I love them! You can see my car on FB.
It was Oma not me who commented on the new kitchen btw😊
            Downstairs loo is a necessity I would say;

                Good afternoon all.
I’ve been feeling out of sorts these last few days, nothing I could actually put my finger on but the other night it dawned on me. I have been having hot sweats and general aches and pains ever since I decided I would go ‘cold turkey ‘ and stop taking my prescribed antidepressants, obviously the wrong way to go about it!
I did have a phone appointment booked with my GP to discuss coming off them but I have changed my mind as I feel , in the cold light of day I still need them so I will pod on a little longer and see how I feel later in the coming months.

We we went to town today to look for footwear for OH but he discovered that no shops sell comfortable, well made nice looking shoes for under £25 Honesty than man , he won’t wake up to the fact that good shoes don’t come cheap. He is now looking on the internet for some , it’s not as if we actually destitute and don’t have two pennies to rub together!

By the way Bonmarche in town has got a closing down sign on its windows.

The shower is now up and running.

Oma that’s a lot of money for a screen replacement . Has B had his phone long. Mine is about 4 years old and if it breaks I will just get a new one , my lot by a new phone almost every year , they have to get the latest model but I am ‘old school ‘ I use it till it breaks .

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi he's only had it 5 month but the warranty doesn't cover breakages from dropping 😱

B always says if he can't buy it in the £ shop he's not buying it 🤣🤣🤣
Men what can you do with them

                    Good afternoon all.

Drizzly old day today, missed the sunshine. Had my BP check up this morning, all OK and weight the same too so that's good.

Qwerty, you are going to be busy, hope it all goes well. OH is measuring to put some new shelves in the kitchen, that’s all I can face now.

Our dishwasher died on us; it’s been playing up for a while and I haven’t used it for a couple of weeks so decided I’d give it one last chance but it’s kaput! The lights come on but nothing works. I have decided we dont really need a dishwasher so we aren’t replacing it. With only 2 of us there’s not a lot of dishes to do and it takes a Few minutes so we’re not bothering. We only had a slim line one but even so it took two or three days to get it full enough to switch on. In the gap where it was P is going to out a couple of shelves so I can have my cookery books in the kitchen instead of in the bookcase in the conservatory, and the other shelf will be useful too.

Shame about B’s phone Oma, such an expense. I usually inherit DDs old phone when she changes hers, suits me.

Mimi, hope you feel better, it’s always a good idea to wean yourself off antidepressants rather than stop them altogether, but maybe you do still need them. We all need a little help every now and again.

So, tomorrow we’re off to B & Q for supplies for the shelves then out to lunch. P is happy, he likes to have a project 🙂

Mimi I think you were sensible to re think coming off the medication. You could still talk to your GP about coming off gradually perhaps, if you feel that's what you want to do?
I had to smile about your OH wanting footwear for less than £25
Enfys, I don't know that we would bother with a dishwasher if it wasn't part of the kitchen already. It is handy when we have family and friends round for meals, but for just us, like you it can take a few days to fill it. Your cookery bookcase sounds a nice use of the space, and a project for P!

GS1 has taught me the order of the continents by size on the drive home from school (Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, Australia) I want to learn it as it may be useful in quizzes! He also told me a lot about The Sphinx. I think I will ask him to teach me something new each week

OH is making chicken enchiladas for tea, we haven't had those for a while!

Qwerty, love, you're a glutton for punishment - work on the villa and now work at home. Still, gaining a downstairs loo will be fantastic. I hope the building work goes smoothly. Can they do some of the work before knocking through into the existing building? Yummy - jam roly poly - I haven't had that for years! Tell me you have custard with it. Do you make it yourself, or can you get it ready made?

Mimi - I'm glad you've found out why you were feeling under the weather. It's probably worth having a chat with your GP with a view to coming off them gradually when you feel ready. You've got a lot on your plate, so don't push yourself too hard.

I had to laugh at your OH and the price of good shoes. Mine's just the same, although he thinks £30 is about right!

Nanto - our snowdrops are starting to flower as well, and the daffs are in bud in some of my pots. The primroses have been flowering their pretty little heads off since before Christmas.

Enfys - somewhere to put your cookery books sounds a good idea if you don't really need the dishwasher. I have to admit when ours goes (it's getting close) I will be out shopping for a new one the same day. I'd hate having to wash up by hand. In the caravan I leave it to OH, but I know who'd end up doing it every day at home! P will love having another project to get his teeth into.

Our windows all open and close easily now - it feel like such a luxury after struggling with them as they gradually got stiffer and stiffer. After a burst of activity this morning tidying up, cleaning the kitchen, hoovering up clouds of dog hairs, my busy day yesterday caught up with me, and I sat down to read yesterday's paper and fell asleep!

Neither of us felt very hungry so I did baked salmon with a green salad and potato salad. I think I could have managed a portion of Qwerty's jam roly poly, though!

Edit: Enfys - I meant to say I'm pleased you got a good report from your check up! xx

Daisy you wont know yourself , you will be opening and closing windows willy nilly now

I don't have room for a dish washer but even if I did I don't think I would have one , I enjoy washing up B thinks im mad but its a job I like to do , as soon as the meal is over a nice sink full of very hot soapy water and im happy

Gem its a good way to learn makes you sound full of knowledge , if people ask just say a very wise and clever person taught me

Qwerty where will the new loo go ? could have done with that when the twins were little

Picked up my new Glasses and prescription Sun glasses today , im very pleased with them , paid extra for darker lenses in sunglasses and they are good tried them on way home , sun was very low so chance to see it they worked

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Mimi, going cold turkey with the antidepressants wasn't a good idea. Hope you perk up soon.

Qwerty, i don't envy you with all the building work. Been there done that.
Last year we replaced our downstairs loo. Had to go without using it for a day for some reason, and we did miss it.
Wish you hadn't mentioned jam roly poly. We love it,especially with custard.

Enfys, another here with a happy hubby when he has a project on.

Right, going to have a cup of coffee, then make a start.

                              Good morning all.

Well I am at a complete loss to understand OH .
As you know he didn’t buy any shoes in town yesterday has they were too expensive, he has ordered some foot wear online....only they are trainers not shoes.....oh, and he has ordered two different pairs so he has in fact doubled the price of any of the shoes he saw in town and wouldn’t buy on the principal that they were too expensive. Men !

We don’t have a dishwasher, we did consider it when we had the new kitchen installed but there was only room for a tumble dryer or dishwasher and we thought we would need a dryer more than a dish washer. I wish we had room for a utility room where we could have the washing machine and dryer.DS2 and DIL have theirs in the utility room , it’s so much nicer than having them in the kitchen.

Enfys it’s good that P has another project to keep him busy . I have given most of my cookery books to DD as I don’t tend to challenge myself with new dishes anymore, I’ve gotten lazy in that way. When we had a house full of children/ young adults I was always trying new things to cook but not anymore.

Right, must get up and get some breakfast
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
