Gem - GD2 would have made you very welcome at her party, but I hope you're enjoying tonight's anyway.

Oma - I'm reluctant to throw away nearly empty bottles. I don't know why when they get to the stage where you have to stand them upside down to get anything out! Well done for being ruthless.

Grauntie - I bet those two boys are great fun - it's a lovely age. either that or distance lends enchantment since my GSs are now 15 and 16! I know they used to stuff sofas with horse hair at one time, but I've never heard to horse hair bracelets. Yes, I remember chicken marengo - did it have white wine in it? I seem to remember it was quite 'daring'!!

Nanto - I bet you'll be going out next Saturday, but at least you have got beautifully sorted cupboards now.

Qwerty - you sound very down in the dumps, and worried about OH. It's good to get away for a while and give you both chance to work out what's best for you both.

GD2's party went really well. Most of her class were there plus two friends of GD1. They had an hour on the bouncy castle and all the other cubes, and other shapes. It was lovely to watch how imaginative they were building caves, forts and all sorts of things. Then they went into the room where we'd set out the food. They all sat down and silence fell! Nearly 30 5 and 6 years olds and silence!! They had worked up serious appetites. They were all lovely, saying 'please' and 'thank you' without prompting. Afterwards they played all sorts of games with balloons. GD2 had a wonderful time. Eva did a good job of babysitting Cooper! The house was still standing and nothing had been chewed. In fact there were two suspiciously warm areas on DS/DIL's bed!!! Say no more.

OH and I got home about 3.30 and both had a nap! So did Eva!

Oma it’s hair from a horses tail. Sometimes when a horse goes to horsey heaven the owner cuts some tail off and has it made into a bracelet or key fob or something. My hands get very achey doing it now as it takes some force so I have handed all over to GD1. I am doing this for someone special though.
The party sounds as if it went well Daisy, always a relief.
I looked up chicken Marengo and I remember putting sherry in it and none of the recipes do that. I can though! 😁
Sorry to hear OH isn’t feeling too good Qwerty. I hope the break helps.
I hope you are enjoying the party Gem. Sometimes the ones that we don’t fancy turn out to be better than expected.
Nanto2 cupboard cleaning is above and beyond the call of duty. I take my hat off to you!
Nothing of interest on the box tonight so I may have an early night.
      Sleep tight all.

Grauntie, i can remember chicken marengo, but never had it. Don't know whats in it,besides chicken. Will have to google it.

Daisy, the party tired you all out then, but i bet you enjoyed it.

On the local weather forecast yesterday, they said it would be frosty this morning, but it isn't here.

Roast pork dinner today. Pork fillet going in the slow cooker.

          Good morning Nanto/ladies ,
Nanto I remember the name Chicken Marengo but I don't think I ever tasted it , maybe I did but its so long ago now .

Daisy I had to smile at the warm patches I bet as soon as they heard you all they jumped off that bed all innocent like
Good to hear the children had a good time I bet they were hungry after all that play time no the wonder you had a nap after

Qwerty a couple of weeks away while work is going on may cheer J up , I do hope so xxx

Gem how did the party go ? did you enjoy yourself xx

GM you must show us a picture when your finished the bracelets ,

Is Sunshine home yet ? I saw on FB she was in Singapore airport a few days ago , looks like she had a superb time ,

Thinking of all our ladies having a tough time right now xxxxxx

Well its a nice bright day , did the darks and got them dried then after I did a bit hoovering had a shower and now got the whites in and just all the towels to do next then its done for a few days again ,
Honestly there is only two of us I don't know where all the washing comes from

Daisy I cleaned the cupboard out and found several bottles of the same stuff with small amounts in so I decanted them all into one bottle and had a full bottle when I did ,
I keep buying bottles of White vinegar thinking I don't have much left , I found 6 unopened bottles that had been pushed to the back I now have them in slide out plastic boxes so I can see what I have , For some reason I never put them in the boxes I have, I just shove them on the shelf , well of course when that happens they get pushed back out of the way and forgotten

Not a lot to do today B talking about hoovering the car and taking it to car wash ,its impossible keeping it clean in this weather , it looks more grey and mud coloured than white .
Have a good day ladies xx

Good morning dear ladies. I hope all are well today.

I think I may have roast pork today Nan2.
GD's party sounds lovely Daisy, and I'm sure you deserved the nap!

The party last night was fine, as many of you said it probably would be I recently 'threw my toys out of the pram' regarding how they treat my OH (I'll tell you about it sometime) and it has hit home with them, in a good way, and now I'm glad I did, although I regretted it afterwards, and felt awkward going to the party last night. All is well, and life is far too short to be falling out with people.
Last night for our beloved panto last night.
A nice day today Out for Sunday lunch, just OH and me, and then the family holiday planning meeting and light meal at DD2's tonight.

Good morning Nanto and all who pop in later.

I didn't hear a weather forecast last night, but it's rained. Just when everything was starting to dry out a bit we're back to puddles everywhere. <sigh> That means I can't escape into the garden and will have to do the housework instead! <another sigh>

Yesterday the shower in our ensuite broke - I think it's the pump. I hope it can get fixed quickly - we have a shower over the bath in the main bathroom but it's not the same as our ensuite.

Grauntie - sherry in your chicken marengo sounds an excellent idea. Good luck with the horsehair bracelet. There seem to be all sorts of options to have mementoes of pets these days. I'm not keen, but if it brings comfort to a sad pet parent, why not.

Whatever you're doing today I hope you all have a peaceful, happy day.

EDIT sorry Oma and Gem - you posted while I was alternately typing and cuddling Eva. Gem glad the party went well and bridges were mended. As you say, life's too short to fall out. Have a lovely day today.

Oma - yes, Sunshine is home after the most awesome cruise ever. I'm sure she'll tell us all about it - I hope so. Your tale of the vinegar made me laugh - I tend to do the same with tine of tomatoes. But you can never have enough of them.

We say the same about washing, how can 2 people produce so much of it?!

Lots going on since yesterday. Querty so sorry your OH is feeling so low, good idea to get away from the kitchen refurb.

Daisy that party sounded good, lots of fun, it would have been good to have been a fly on the wall seeing what those dogs got up to.

Gemini, pleased you enjoyed the party after all.

Grauntie, Chicken Marengo and horsehair bracelets, what next?

60th Birthday gathering next door was great. DD made a huge pot of Chili and another of a Vegan type stew for GD who is doing Vegan January. Also a Birthday cake made without cream, avocados were used instead, it was great. Just the two Grandmas and all their children and their partners were there for the meal and of course two GGC .Sil's brother and sister came later. Lots of bubbly and wine was consumed. Looking forward to the party in the summer.

Plant - your family does amazing parties! I like the sound of the avocado instead of cream (I can't eat cream)!! Happy 60th to your SIL. The party in the summer sounds good, too. My DS2 did think of rigging up a camera to see what they got up to, but ran out of time, but I suspect they were upstairs and on the bed before we'd reached the end of their cul de sac!

Gem - I hope you're now feeling well-fed and relaxed after your lunch out.

Oma - I think we need you and B to sort out some of our drawers and cupboards! You are both so efficient, and B making bread, too. Wonderful. As you know I nearly always make our own bread (just in the machine) but yesterday I sneaked a little sandwich at GD2's party, and I could hardly eat it - the (standard white-sliced) tasted full of chemicals. I don't think you notice when you eat it all the time, but it did make me wondering what the commercial break-makers are doing to everyone. I hope your friends get to Inverness safely - what a horrible day to be travelling so far.

Qwerty - sending you big hugs. You sound very low. I hope the movie lifts your spirits a bit, as I'm sure the weather won't at the moment. Look after yourself with that cold - they always seem to attack when you're feeling low, don't they. My DIL2 did most of the food for GD2's party - and we were pleased that the children didn't ignore the healthy options of grapes and raspberries, although she did get ready-made sausage rolls.

Raining here too, but we had a walk along the river earlier. Getting ready to have our woodburner installed tomorrow. Need to clear the area round the fireplace so it shouldn't take long....says she!

                              Will post in YEO later.

Raining here as well. Put a load of washing in earlier when it was sunny with a bit of a breeze.
By the time washer was finished the rain had started.

Plant, sounds like you had a lovely time yesterday.

WeeGranny, hope all goes well tomorrow for the installation of the woodburner.

Just listed a couple of things on ebay.
