And finally, with a glass of wine to hand, I can sit down and catch up!

Nanto - James Grieve are lovely apples. Hopefully you'll get a few this year.

Avo - I hope the bulb planting and cake-decorating went well. I'm sure you were ready for a leisurely lunch afterwards.

Grauntie - I sympathise trying to get your OH clothes. Mine is currently walking around in shoes that a tramp would turn his nose up at, but OH says "they're fine - plenty more wear in those"!! So there will be me looking fabulous in my JS sandals, and OH in his battered Timberland-lookalikes.

Oma - I do hope the wedding went well. I bet you're still partying!

Plant - You always feel better when you've had your hair done, don't you! I had the tiniest trim on Wednesday, but it makes such a difference to how it feels. I know you'll miss GD1 being around less, but how lovely that's she's got a special man in her life.

Clover - even in pouring rain the sight of little lambs lifts the spirits a bit. Sending hugs. xxx

Enfys - your new WI sounds lovely, with lots of nice social events to enjoy. I'm so glad P is feeling well. Did he enjoy the lasagne?

Mimi - I've heard lots of good reports about the Shark sucky up thingy. Just don't feel you have to give it daily exercise!

Gem - poor you, a sore throat and your mum at her difficult worst. I wonder if she was being so awkward because you'd been to see your aunt while she was at her friends? You're too nice and kind to do it, but I'd be very tempted to tell her to get a taxi if she can't make her mind up about going to GS's party! Sending hugs and virtual throat sweeties. xx

Gem, it's a shame you didn't feel well enough to go out.
Daisy, hope we get some apples this year. for hubby anyway,i don't care for fresh fruit.
Enfys, good to hear P feels more like his old self.

Nan2, I like a James Grieve too. I grew 2 coxes trees from seed last year but they are not looking good!
Mimi, all hail the Shark! I bought one 2 years ago (not cordless) and was immensely impressed. My cleaning fairy loves it and bought one herself and recommends it to all her clients when she can. Excellent after sales service too.
Oma, I hope the wedding went well and that you had a lovely day. Gem, get well soon, I hope you are at full volume ASAP.
Plant, Glad you approve of GDs partner, (I assume you do). Daisy, I hope you have a relaxing weekend planned but I bet you will be as busy as ever. Do you ever do nothing?😁
I was up early this morning as I had an appointment. Good job as there was a ring on the doorbell at 8.30. It was a young woman with a parcel for me. It transpired she lives in the next road but the same no. house. Believe it or not she seemed to think it was my fault that the post office had delivered it to her instead of me! I did point out that the same thing happens here and it isn’t far to just walk round with the letter and deliver it to the correct address. She calmed down eventually and apologised...well, sort of! What a start to the day...and then food shopping with OH! I deserved every bit of the custard slice with my coffee.
        Good night all, sleep tight.

Grauntie, coffee and custard slice sounds scrummy.

            Good moaning each.
I have been up for hours with very uncomfortable guts after eating a most delicious steak at a local restaurant. Nothing wrong with the meat, just couldn’t seem to digest it! Fish when eating late is the way forward I think!
Nanto, the coffee and slice were delicious. 😋
Overcast here, going back to bed for an hour now that OH has gone to play golf. Maybe I’ll just watch the last recorded episode of the Race Across the World In readiness for the final on Sunday first.
            Have a good weekend all.

              Good morning ladies.
Daisy, I'm sure the fact that I had been to my aunties the other day didn't help matters. I didn't volunteer the information , but when mum asked me if I had gone home I said No I went to see G.
Grauntie as we advance in years, it seems harder to eat late and as you say what we do eat makes a difference!
It's sunny here Nan2, so perhaps it will reach you soon. Yes I was sorry to miss the quiz and meal last night, but I just didn't feel well enough to go out and socialise.

My cold is still here but I feel less rough than I did yesterday, so that's good. I had an early night last night and slept better than the previous night.
Apart from icing the buns and going to buy the birthday helium balloon this morning, all I have to do is got to GS2's party this afternoon. We are picking up the other gran on the way. Her husband isn't really up to a 3 year old's party just yet. Having had his post operative catheter removed yesterday he is still adjusting. The other Gran doesn't drive, so it is no problems for us to take her (with or without the addition of my mother!)

              Happy Saturday to all

                Good morning everyone.

We've got a rather hazy sun to start the day, so not too bad.

Grauntie - you may not believe this, but we have no plans for today. The month's dog food will arrive sometime, but hopefully we can have a day pottering and doing nothing in particular. I hope your rummy settles down. The lady with your parcel has a problem if she thinks the Royal Mail is your responsibility!

Gem - how are you this morning? I hope your throat's feeling better and you'll be ok for the birthday boy's party this afternoon.

Nanto - that's a very "April" graphic - sunshine and showers.

Edit: Gem, our posts crossed. Thank goodness you're feeling a little bit better for GS2's party. If your Mum goes, I hope she behaves, but don't let her upset you. Perhaps having the other gran there will help. I hope you all have a lovely time, especially the Birthday Boy. xxx

Good morning all. Dry and sunny here, hopefully we can get out in the garden. DH is taking apart an old swing hammock which had come to the end of its days, then it can go to the tip. We can then reorganise our seating and it will, give us more space.

GM I also had the most awful indigestion last night after our meal. We usually eat our main meal at lunchtime but because I was out yesterday I cooked at teatime instead, it was lovely but boy, did I suffer. Still feeling the effects now.

Im not dressed yet, after a fairly sleepless night but I can hear P pottering about so had better show my face, maybe another cuppa will put me right, ☕️

Havr a a good day everyone.

Enfys - I've started cooking our main meal at lunch-time if OH or I are going out in the evening, and it does help. I never used to get indigestion but I do sometimes now. No wonder you didn't sleep too well. It's nice to get things reorganised in the garden ready for summer.

Good morning everyone. Quiet and still here. Looking forward to getting out to do some jobs in the garden shortly. Green Thumb came to weed and feed the front lawn on Thursday, in the pouring rain. I phoned up to say they will need to come back again when it is dry to re-do it. It was pouring when they started, pouring while they did it and continued to pour with rain for hours after they finished. They said it will be ok because the weed killer sticks to the weeds anyway, somewhat diluted I fear. They said if there is no evidence of improvement in two weeks they will come back and have a look! I suspect they will be getting another phone all from me in a couple of weeks.

Sunshine - I hope Green Thumb are right and the weeds do disappear. It was such heavy rain on Thursday I'd be surprised though.

GS4's 18th birthday today, I am joining his family for a celebration lunch, he has friends coming round later. Nothing else planned.

Sorry to hear you have an upset tummy Grauntie, I eat my main meal about 6pm but I don't eat much meat these days mainly fish, chicken and eggs. Hope your tummy feels better soon

Enfys I hope your tummy feels better.

It is dry here Daisy but no sign of the sun. I don't think it will tempt me out in the garden. Enjoy your free day.

Good morning all, I might have to go and lie down for a while..... the sun is shining and it isn’t bitterly cold out . Don’t think I can get over the shock !

Not a lot planned for today, just use our new sucky, stick thing and see how it performs.
I have tomato plants sitting in the kitchen windowsill that needs potting on and hopefully I can put them in the small grow house that is on the patio away from shade and cold winds .

Any ladies having a flutter on the Grand National today ?

My washing machine is now beeping at me so I’d better go and empty it , hope everyone is well and hopefully I will pop back later .
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
